Thanks for being the go to guy for all things 49ers. So refreshing to have a source that does not need the click bait headlines to report Niner news. In fact, you are so good at your job I wonder if the 49ers are thinking”this guy is reporting our secret O-line draft strategy “
Cheers to you, David. Reporting well done. 24-25 49ers football season is stacking up to be a stellar year. Excited the boys are looking good. I was one of, but there were many more RED jerseys in Vegas than Black.
I watched alot of JT O'Sullivan qb school last year and he slow mo and back and forth video on Brock but it allowed a great view of the line play that you can't catch watching the game on tv Brendal was consistently beat, seemed overwhelmed often and seemed a real weakness. Maybe the guards could have helped but any upgrades on that line will be a big positive. If the rookies have a year to bulk up and adjust to the pro game big positive down the road
He is gonna be 37 this year and had alot injuries last season. Too bad they didn't have a big left tackle from last season who could slide in so they don't have to pay gazillions to Trent for a season or 2 where he is injured and can't play alot
Preseason PFF grades Puni 70.5 Kingston 60.9 Nugent 54.8 PFF's grading system is far from perfect for O-lineman but as far as aggregate grades available out there, PFF is one of the more accurate ones. Kingston's 60.9 isn't terrible but still a little below average, Puni's grade is above average and he has looked like he's going to be a foundational piece for the 49ers. Nugent-not good but it is an encouraging sign that the 3 of them haven't allowed many pressures in pass blocking because that's what going to determine how stable the offense can be. Purdy can't be taking hits at the rate he has, without bad things eventually happening. If 2/3 of these rookies become above average players, that's a big win for this draft class and big for the Niners SB hopes
lol...they did indeed!!!! Let's give prompts to HC Kyle Shanahan, his coaching staff, GM John Lynch & his Scouts, and the Front office....they got it RIGHT!!! these 3 rookie players are OUTSTANDING and are Pro Ready!!! And they proceed it in the preseason. I told you guys David in May that we had these OL guys and they were beast. Mel Kiper Jr. talked about them so I went back and studied them on You Tube and Google and found out that they were Gems!!! Gems!!! and Kyle finally addressed the OL weakness. I was so EXCITED!!!! Couldn't wait to see them play. And man did they show out!!! wow!!!! I think they make the 53.
This rookie draft class was the best thing we could ask for the next 5 years we have dawgz on rookie contracts replenish the roster with Brock getting paid next year but still we can't hit on our first round picks except for Bosa and DeeeeeBo
deebo wasn't a first...aiyuk was though and to be fair we've yet to see pearsall...if pearsall turns out to be a star that means the 49ers hit on their 1st round picks more than not
David- off subject of this video but I expressed feeling vulenerable at the Edge considering injuries and Gross-Matos true skil set. I believe a trade is a long shot .. what do you think about this: "R. Gregory's awall status lead him to be released by the Bucs" Might we sign him?
From my novice perspective, I would rather have Jarrett Kingston on the 53 man roster as the backup LG because he has played well, has seasoned experience in two different major college programs, and Bartch has been dealing with injuries.
8:37 Well, if you're going to talk about sitting back and seeing how things develop, don't you think it might be a good idea to see if Kingston or Nugent at least *make the roster* before anointing them as gems or potential future saviors of the O-line? As of your own video *today,* you currently have Kingston projected to the practice squad, and Nugent gone entirely. Even if Kingston makes the roster as the last OL, or gets a couple of practice squad elevations, he's only going to be playing garbage time snaps this year unless there's an ungodly slew of injuries. You've pointed out Kingston's and Nugent's high points several times, but if they're not even in a position to beat out Burford or Zakelj right now, then clearly they still have a long way to go.
If they take a year to bulk up in the weight room and adjust to the pro game that's a huge positive for next season. Pro teams have way better everything than colleges. Plus some of these kids are still growing into full manhood
@@DavidLombardi Well, when I looked at your PS projection list on the spreadsheet (which you appear to be editing as I type this), the only O-linemen you had on it were Kingston and Parker, and you didn't mention Nugent going to the PS during the OL section of your roster projection video, so that's what I went off of. Either way, he (and Kingston) would clearly still have a *long* way to go before they could realistically be projected as future starters. Just because I was curious, I went through the practice squad players for each year under Lynch and Shanahan, and the only ones I saw who went on from the PS to have any significant roles later were Jennings and DFF.
There’s no way Nugent will be cut. If he does, he’s going to get picked up. Don’t screw this up Shanny…cut Zakelj and have Nugent be the backup center.
honestly I was just thinking about it today.... let us watch Trent Williams move out the way and let all the rookies work it out!!! got to be done at some point at least we have Trent coming back in the meantime... was actually surprised to see the o-line hold up a bit during the Raiders game for brock Purdy especially without Trent😅😅
I live down the street from there born and raised in the city
Thanks for the hard work and great niner reporting, thank you.

Kingston and Nugent could well fill voids I especially am anxious about Brendel’s chronic knees.
Perfect coverage and ending!
Cheers to you, David. Reporting well done.

Jaylon Moore, Jon Feliciano, Jake Brendel….these aren’t exactly elite vets. The kids need to take those jobs
Put some respect on felicianos name

legit we needed to only draft Oline in 2024 draft
Exactly. Feliciano is damn good.@@SFGiants5
Puni earned his spot as a starter. I'm really not worried about his ability to do well for us and to block well as well as protect Purdy if need be
Continued excellent deep diving into O Line situation for Niners. These rookies will help but pass protection will be a challenge this year.
Just pay Trent. Best lt I’ve seen in like 30 years. Everyone else can be replaced
Yeah, keep Trent making millions past his prime.
He is gonna be 37 this year and had alot injuries last season. Too bad they didn't have a big left tackle from last season who could slide in so they don't have to pay gazillions to Trent for a season or 2 where he is injured and can't play alot

Happy with the rookies added to the Oline

I was already thinking it’s a bad idea to Pur Kingston on practice squad in fear of him being poached, David’s report out just strengthens that
So I guess they're going to put all three on the 53 man roster, aye Dave?
I’d be interested in who is going on the practice squad of teams like the Lions or Eagles with top Olines.
On the touchdown run by Jordan Mason in vegas puni pushed his guy all the way down to the goal line just behind mason!
LMAO!!!!! rookies are getting pranked all over in the NFL right now!!! Hahahahaha....I forget that pranks are going on!!!! Hahaha

I have Nugent to the practice squad
@@DavidLombardi If he makes it. With his background and how he played in the preseason…I don’t see him making it to the ps.

I just want to know why has there been so many free rushers
Keep the rooks
San Francisco is not Americas most beautiful city. Don’t lie. There is 💩 and piss everywhere. Homeless is rampant. My sister moved out of there.
