- This was Ski Apache Resort in February and is located near Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Ruidoso is at the heart of the Sacramento Mountains of southern New Mexico and on the northern edge of the Mescalaro Apache Indian Reservation and at an elevation of 6900 feet offers high altitude relief from the desert heat of the surrounding high desert.
The nearby Ski Apache resort offers runs to ski, snowboard, ski bike!
This is southernmost ski and snowboard area is finally opened for the riders in New Mexico and Texas. They have eleven lifts in total, however, during opening day, they only had two beginner trails opened. The number of lifts that are open daily is dependent on the amount of snow we have. Check the Trail Map for open lifts. There is no lodging in ski Apache but there are numerous lodging possibilities located in the town of Ruidoso.

I was riding on a customized TNGNT Ski Bike. Used their frame kit and added my mountain biking parts to it.

That was a great day of ski biking ! Sierra Blanca has more snow on it right now than Pikes Peak ! Looks like you're getting to master the ski bike, looking good going thur the trees. Great vid ! Have a Safe One !!!
My third time riding this year and each time I’m building the confidence to go faster. I loved riding through the trees. It really felt like mountain biking. Good to hear from you!

Dave! I’ve watched all of your videos this morning! Makes me miss riding my ski bike! You said in this video you built this one?! My kit had aluminum triangle brackets that attached to the skis. Yours looks so nice!

Heck yea! Thank you! The best time for me was towards the end of the season. They were dumped on with fresh powder! Also it was a lot colder too. Early in the season, you’ll get slush and ice with limited runs. They do make their own snow but for the lower half of the mountain. Actually they already started this month in preparation for the party in the mountain in November. Last year they had the beginner run only during the November party. Late January - March has been my favorite time there.
