Hello Eduardo and Patricia!! What a wonderful video! Sardegna is a very fun place to visit, with ancient towns, friendly people and fantastic food! Thank you for sharing. ❤
We have been traveling and exploring by land during the winter. Went to see the northern lights in Iceland then cruised by land from there all the way to Morroco. Waiting to warm up a bit so we can go out with Joy. I hope all is well with you.
All of my family on my father's side is from there. I still have many relatives living there who have not met. I plan on going in August of 2024. Can't wait. I'm trying to convince my dad to go he has a bad heart, and he's afraid to be on an airplane for that amount of time. enjoy I'm envious
You will love it ! This place is amazing. If you come make sure you spend sometime at golfo de orosei. That’s the place we like the most. I will show it on next video. Best Ed
Great to see your videos again. Quick technical question for the captain, Does a push button 54 ft carbon performance catamaran equiped with docmate remote, bow thruster, electric fuler, furling boom and powered traveler eliminate much of the physical effort needed and ease maneuvering and handling for a sailing couple in a way that encourage them to switch from motor yacht to sail catamaran experience in the Med 😇 Thank you
Well that’s indeed a great question. Dock mate will definitely help during docking, it really makes life easier combined with the bow truster. You will need to just practice a bit but in no time you get to be a pro when docking in a marina. Now for the electric furler for the Genoa it just makes the process much cleaner as you just have to press a button and out or in you go (ours we have to lines but we use electric winches, but pretty easy to use). Fueling boom (main sail) is the one that can be a game changer but if things go wrong it could also be a big headache. We like sailboat but we are not afraid to motor if needed. We feel like a catamaran with all bell and whistles would definitely be better than a power boat for the simple fact that you could go so much further and I mean cross oceans to your next destinations. All a matter of preferences and priorities. I hope I helped a bit. 🤩
Just found you guys by search for sailing and Sardegna. Have been doing the tour round the Island the last two turns. We came in at the Fornelli-Passage and went from Stintino via Castellsardo and Isola Rossa to the Maddalenas, then the Costa Smeralda down until Cagliari. Looking forward for your next video to see where you were going from where you been in this video. Keep safe and "immer eine Handbreit Wasser unter dem Kiel" as we say in Germany. (Sempre um punhado de água sob a quilha 🤷♂)
Yes We have done the entire Island and truly enjoyed it. I would say we have done something very similar but possibly with different anchorage spots. We were so lucky to have a 10 days great weather window for the golfo di orosei and were amazed by places like cala luna and goloritze. We went all the way to Cagliari and got caught on a nasty storm over there before sailing to Carlo forte stopping at zafferano where we got kicked out by local law enforcement 😇! Yes it was 2 intense months cruising in Sardegna ! Glad you found us here, hopefully some day our paths will cross and we meet in person. All the best Ed and Patricia Ps what is your boats name? Ps. Yes it makes sense in Portuguese as well. 🤩🤩😍immer eine handbreit wasser unter dem Kiel
Ah Luís Felipe ! Obrigado 🙏. Sim estamos na área. Estávamos viajando por terra um pouquinho então o laptop ficou e não pude fazer vídeos. De volta agora. Abraços
Bahaha, thank you for including us in your video during your drone espionage. 😂🥰 We feel honoured for the mention. 😘😘 Those donkeys tho 😂 and Patricia making you go first to do the survival test. Very clever, because more people get killed by donkeys than sharks. Can’t wait for season 3 to keep chasing each other again and more shenanigans. ❤
Hahahaha. You guys are a very important part of our Journey. Thank you for your friendship ! We miss you guys. Come back soon to teach Patricia how to swim as she stating here that she now feels so much more comfortable around the sharks after she got your stats 😂
How are you able to stay in the Schengen zone for more than 90 days? Did you have to get a visa from one of the countries in order to stay longer? Glad to see you guys back. I was wondering what happened to you.
Hi Barry ! All good here. We were traveling non stop so it was difficult to produce the videos as did not take the laptop with me. Back in front of my computer so more videos will be coming. Unfortunately the 90 days rule is a reality for all nos European citizens. One thing worth exploring is the new digital nomad visa in Spain which provides you with the ability to stay up to 12 months. Not bad. Ps. You can also catch us in real time on IG @sailingjoy and @travelandfuntv
@@SailingJoy did you guys get the digital nomad visa? Do you have to leave the Schengen zone for 3 months after the 12 month period is up? Have you considered becoming a citizen of Portugal or Spain?
Awesome video! You're my favourite sailing channel. Really enjoying the panoramic shots, the walks and the talking to the camera from Patricia. Ed, I like how you explain your reasoning and make it look easy. Video production is top notch!
Phil we really appreciated your note. It made our day and felt that the countless hours we spend editing and creating stories is nothing when compared to your kind words. So happy to have you here with us. Best Ed and Patricia
@@Ironboots123 Thats awesome. You will love it. I believe you will also enjoy our next few videos as we will sail around the entire island of Sardinia then cross to Sicily. So much to see and explore. All the best . Ed and Patricia

Thank you Mel !!!
Still using the fishing rod upside down....even when in the rod holder. You risk breaking the line, another rod, and/or losing fish.
Oooops. We took notes already but as videos were a bit late your advise was only incorporate later. We appreciated the guidance. 🙏
