I went back to the episode and Alex pretty clearly said “they were (Rory and Mal) discussing the workflow, feeling overworked and how we can move things around” … “why y’all coming to us (Savon & Alex) like I’m a worker”
So yea he definitely painted a narrative
But in context it makes sense as he was referring to the content of the discussion not necessarily who started it
Are ppl getting caught up on the working? Maybe Mal and Rory said something like “like we don’t get paid enough, we are working a lot” and Alex took it as them being “underpaid and overworked.” Technically maybe Mal and Rory didn’t use the word “overworked”. Bc I am pretty damn sure that Rory and Mal have expressed those feelings since leaving

No. It's not about comprehension, it's about what you said. As a person who watched the episode, you all communicated this in a way that made it seem like rory and mal came to you. It wasn't about the meeting actually happening, it wasn't out of context. Alex said that Rory and Mal led the conversation. A simple "my bad" would've done it here guys.
They were afraid of Joe. They didn't wanna out right say THEY had a problem so they put it on R&M

They did evvvvvvverything but address Alex’s comment and framing of the meeting that started the issue. Even before Rory and Mal responded I knew Alex’s “They felt over worked” and “why were they talking to us?” was a problem. This episode could have been 10 minutes instead of an hour.

The older I get, the more I realize that the overwhelming majority of problems stem from the lack of clear communication. I enjoy watching all three pods and want everyone to continue progressing.
There's a difference between lack of clear communication and someone outwardly lying to paint a narrative and getvon someone's good side. Not only did Alex say Rory and Mal came to them about being overworked and underpaid, he also doubled down on it by saying how crazy he thought it was for them to do that because of their relative positions. He reiterated and cleared up his point so there would be no confusion.

The reason they called you liars is because of how this conversation again was handled. You said that Alex's words were taken out of context. Words were not taken out of context, Alex clearly stated "People were talking about how Rory and Mal were discussing work flow and being underpaid and overworked." So the flow of the conversation from that point carried the feeling that Rory and Mal were leading the sentiment of the meeting by feeling those things and were venting to you guys and the other people present. That narrative came off stronger because Alex kept stating "Im just an employee and I dont know whay they were saying that to me." Which again paints the picture Mal and Rory were pushing ALL 3 topics when maybe the reality is they were in agreement with workflow but the pay and overwork was Savon and other employees. The fact that you guys breezed over this reality again is exactly why it comes off like you did not want to full be transparent. I think you did a great job in the interview with Joe and offered great push back. It even seemed at the beginning of this episode that you were going to hold Alex accountable for "maybe accidentally" mispeaking. But if I had the animosity those guys have towards for what Joe did to them and you guys mischaracterized the conversation that led to it all I would be just as hot. Focusing all your attention on their reaction to your mistake was another mischaracterization and how it made you feel took away from any attempt at clearing things up and felt like you were letting your co host off.

- They had an "Around the water cooler employee talk" amongst each other discussing the changes in workload.
- Mal and Rory never said they were overworked or underpaid. They were just discussing their confusion about the change in workflow and schedule
because Patreon was introduced so they were doing more episodes per week.
- Savon was the one that felt overworked and underpaid like most employees do.
- Alex was thinking why Mal and Rory were mentioning their questions/confusion to him because that was "out of his tax bracket" so to speak not because Mal and Rory came to him to vent. It was just an organic discussion.

Both sides are arguing semantics. Ultimately, concerns were shared about not being compensated for specific work efforts. Overworked may not have been the proper description but Mal is trying to pretend as though he does not understand the essence behind Alex's statement.

It seems like where things went left is that the narrative in the streets is that Rory & Mak LED the charge on the "overworked and underpaid" angle when it seems like all of y'all were just talking about it that day. Joe has said, it's some things he could of done better and I think this is one of them. None of y'all knew what the plan was ,especially with the extra Patreon shows added to the mix.
