It's really concerning, as not only is there the Russian-Ukrainian war, but there are lots of on-going conflicts right now, and some of them are just as deadly.
This usually happens when the greatest of the great powers, i.e., the USA this time around, has weak, non-serious leadership, and every belligerent nation believes it is their time to act.
most of us don't know war.. Ukraine is only at 500k between both sides, this 100k and add the current ones and you might barely get the vietnam war or korean war where both wars lost up to 3 million each... also fun fact we americans lost more to the spanish flu then ww1 and 2 combined.

There was the Corona virus pandemic in 2020, the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, Russia invading Ukraine in 2022, then the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza after the October 7 terrorist attacks in 2023, and now tensions between the U.S. and Iran are at an all time high. And it’s only February!

There were way more than 20% until Israel came, they don't have schooling and Hospitals in Arabs cities they have to commute a long time before reaching an Israeli one. Israel is making it hard on them to make them leave. Btw in Gaza and West bank there is good proportion of Christians that are free to do as please and before the Israelis came all three religions were living in relative peace. Dude... as a Iraqi you really think the West wants what's best for Arabs?

I could be wrong but I believe Israel is not currently trying to hold all of Gaza in the way we think a country is trying to take territory, they are trying to root out Hamas in the high conflict spots. To accomplish this they are moving forces around Gaza. Think of the West Bank. They don’t have thousands of troops there, but a form of military control and checkpoints. I feel that’s what they are trying to do here. Control all essential roads and make traveling through Gaza as difficult for militants as possible.
I agree with you on that. I think if Israel wanted to completely take over Gaza they probably could have done so by now. They have always won wars against its neighbours so wouldn’t surprise me if they did steamroll Gaza in a matter of weeks. What really winds me up though is when people go off and say “Israel is bad they are trying to kill Palestinians” no they are not. They aren’t even the aggressors in this war, Hamas attacked them first. But anyways, enough about that. Will be interesting to see what happens this year as it seems just about anything is possible at this point
They are not interested in taking Gaza. There's only very small political faction of Israelis who want to create settlements in Gaza.
The entire mission has always been to eliminate Hamas. Netenyahu seems to believe this means that, after the war, Gaza should not be allowed to govern itself anymore, but even that doesn't mean Israel would be in charge. It could be a UN commission or something like the four powers in post-WWII Germany.

West bank doesn't have hamas popularity there. Its just a small fraction of local resistance fighters who aren't well equipped. Israel basically controls the west bank and they are kicking out every civilian to install settlements

I personaly think Is accurate 5000, 1500 civillians were killed in the hamas raid, and 3500 killed/injured against a fanatical opponent in a Urban area seems realustic
For these maps, I think it's important to distinguish in the legend between al-qassam fighters and civilian casualties, as well as IDF vs Israeli civilians/ settlers.

the Gaza casualties are correct; there are at least 100,000 Gaza casualties (of which between 8,000 to 20,000 are Hamas, with the latter number being very likely inflated), that have been confirmed, although the number of civilian dead/injured is likely much higher at around 200,000 at least with several 100,000s more dead or severely ill from blockade famine and illness due to lack of water
Israel casualties according to them are 12,000+ mostly soldiers injured (though ~1500 are dead as well, of which 600 are soldiers)

The number is misleading. This is the total size of the army, not the number of troops actually inside Gaza. At least half are on the Lebanese border to deter Hezbollah from intervening, and very many are non-combat personnel who would never go to the front.
