Thanks for joining me for another tag video. What did ya think of Sassy Nicole?? Questions: 1. A popular polish you don't like 2. A polish everyone hates but you like 3. A nail polish finish you don't like 4. A popular brand you think is overpriced 5. A trend you can't get on board with 6. A trend you didn't like at it's peak but do now 7. A color you don't wear often or at all 8. A polish you like but think is over hyped 9. A popular topcoat you don't like 10. A nail polish that doesn't get enough love
FOREVER on the justice for green nail polish train. Green nail polish is stunning and wonderful and deserves the love that blue gets honestly. The RANGE of green from neon to mossy to olive to some deep emerald tones is incredible - there is a green for everyone.
totally agree on unicorn pee pigment even though I wasn't into nail polish when the hype began. also kinda agree on reflective glitter, but that's where most of the similarities end 😂😂😂
I agree that yellow and brown nail polish don't get enough love. I LOVE both of those colors so much and I'm always so excited when a GOOD formula yellow or brown nail polish is released lol. And I have to make myself stop wearing green nail polish because I love it so 💛💚
Pearlescent is my favorite finish, so I love that it’s coming back! I haaaaate matte finish, though. I love how it looks on other people (especially dark red colors!) but it’s not for me
Yellows, Greens, and browns are my obsession now!! Yellow is my favorite color so when I did brown nails for fall my students were shook! I’m so glad i found your channel❤❤
Love these videos as they allow us all to get the pettiness out! 1. I don’t like black to red multichromes. The red shift is just too subtle. 2. I love Holo Taco Chameleon Coat and actually bought it twice as individuals. I am so happy to have a full bottle as that polish is never coming back. 5. I just can’t get on board with matte finish polishes. Just add a matte top coat to your QDTC! 7. I rarely wear blue polishes. Why wear blue when I can wear green?
When you started talking about brands taking advantage of swatchers it really reminded me of a simplypodlogical highlight from Ben and Cristine. Great place to start if you want to get a more indepth idea of how much brands take advantage. Cristine gave loads of examples of how brands took advantage of her despite knowing how big her platform was and how long it took her to really understand how much she was worth.
Thanks for the recommendation, I saw that podcast a while back 💖 Unfortunately I didn’t need to see the podcast to know that’s what goes on in the nail polish space between brands and their swatch teams. I have had a lot of first hand experience working as a swatcher the past 4 years.
I’m with you on a lot here. G&G top coat dries fast but gets think way faster than other QDTCs I’ve tried. Love Crackles I need to break out my old ones. Love me some yellows and greens and browns. I’m ok on the pearlescent polishes, frost back in the day, and my mom wore nothing but a white frost when I was a kid. I still love a nice frost on occasion.❤ keep the unpopular opinions coming!
For the topcoat thing, I really don't like Cuticula Limitless. The shine is great but the dry time on me is like molasses. It may be body chemistry, but on me it takes HOURS. Give me qdtc's w/ toluene b/c otherwise I can't deal 😂 For the record I love their polishes and base coat. I also hate pearlescent finishes for the same reasons as you. In the mid 90's, it was almost all we could get and they called them frost. I was a kid so I wore them 😅
Neither G&G nor Cuticula top coats work well for me. Sweet & Sour Lacquers Gloss Sauce, Dreamland Lacquer’s Ooh Shiny, and Baroness X’s Assimilate are my favorite QDTCs.
@@hippie2mars Good to know about Dreamland and Baroness X. I really like Gloss Sauce too, which has the same ingredient list and order as Vibrant Vinyls/Scents Fast & Hard. While I like the scent option, I hate that brush. G&G works for me but needs to be thinned sooner than Gloss Sauce.
1. A popular polish you don't like - Cirque Colors Halcyon 2. A polish everyone hates but you like - Cant think of one. 3. A nail polish finish you don't like - Glitter, its so annoying to take off if you're wearing fake nails, peel off base does not work then the foil method takes the fake nails off as well. 4. A popular brand you think is overpriced - Cirque Colors 5. A trend you can't get on board with - Cant think of one 6. A trend you didn't like at it's peak but do now - Cant think of one 7. A color you don't wear often or at all - Red 8. A polish you like but think is over hyped - ILNP The Magician, own it but its disappointing when used. 9. A popular topcoat you don't like - Seche Vite but purely because I know it stinks to high heaven and smells can trigger a migraine for me. 10. A nail polish that doesn't get enough love - Not sure, I dont buy as much polish as I'd like to, my budget goes on only two brands now. I might come back to this at some point, my migraine brain is not playing nicely today.
Love sassy Nicole!! 1. Cirque Morningtide - 3 coats & its still patchy on me 2. Holo taco Chameleon Coat - JUSTICE FOR CHAMELEON COAT 3. Reflective finishes - without a camera flash it just looks, chunky? 4. Cirque Colors - so pretty but RIP my wallet 5. Gel nails or really any extensions - my nails are too sensitive! 6. Sweater nails - thought it was weird looking at first but now I think they're so cozy & cute 7. Blue! Idk why, I think it's pretty, I just hardly reach for it 8. Really anything "unicorn" - usually pretty but idk why people go crazy for it 9 Seche Vite - major shrinkage for me 10. Mooncat Pandemonium - full disclosure I have it on my nails right now but it's like red sugar candy 😍 edit: oooh, also browns!
OMG YES with the UP being overhyped. Idk I feel like shimmer is shimmer, I am not about to pay 20+ dollars to buy some random shimmer when there are so many others available.
1. I don't like opi's alpine snow. 2. I love holo taco chameleon coat 3. This one hurts to say...but I'm not as in love with flakie polishes as I once was. 4. What's that one Harry Styles launched? That one. 5. I do not like the nail art where they fade out a red from the centre of the nail and a lighter colour circling it. It looks like a wound and like it would be sore. 6. Reflective. They were just too chunky and hard to work with but but feel like most brands have figured it out now and it's so much better. Plus the sparkle ✨️ 7. Pinks. Unless it's neon in the summer I just don't gravitate toward them, although I own plenty. 8. Any of the a lion with a thorn in its paw polishes. Absolutely stunning but holy moly there are too many now lol. 9. I don't like any of holo tacos top coats. And glisten and glows glitter grabber doesn't do it for me, but I love their other top coats. 10. There's a brand where I live called Liquid Bermuda and I want to own them all, they just need better marketing. More people here deserve to know about them!

I haven't tried any indie brand topcoats yet. 10. Full coverage micro glitter ✨️ 💖 like the kind Chinaglaze was so good at years ago
I'm with you about green, yellow and browns! ... I'm a stamper at the stage of doing multiple colours and reverse stamping. I have more green stamping polishes than any other shade to capture botanical themes... Nature has many colours our nails should also have many colours.
Oh and i guess the only unpopular opinions I have are .... 1) Glitter is overrated ... 2) Gel too hardcore too permanent - I'm a multi Mani a day girl - peel off base coat for the win! 3) super long nails - to active in sport and playing music to have long nails To be clear ... These opinion are just for on me ... Others must do what they must do for them ... Everyone has their styles and preferences... A person glows when they get their style on ... So long, gel and glitter folks be you... you are fabulous.
I didn't even know Belugaria existed!!! It's stunning and reminds me of black truffles (Tuber melanosporum)! NEED!!! I'm an amatuer mycologist and I NEED THAT POLISH!
I think Belugaria is so cool, definitely looks like Beluga caviar. But I think I’d never wear it, it’s more like a novelty thing for me because I love food and beverage themed polishes.
I’m relatively new to the indie nail polish world and I happened to see Glass Frog the first time I decided to check out what PPU was all about. It was the only polish that caught my eye, because I love the blue/green combo, but I agree the hype was too much!
Have you done a video on your favorite pinks and favorite golds? I know how much you love GOOOOOLLLLLD and Pank so I'd love videos on your faves of those 2 colors.
lollllll I have the same answer for popular polish I don't like. Like, I get it, but I don't really *get it*. The only polish I have that I *love* that complete strangers have told me is ugly is Pepper Pot Polish's Radium Girls in a Radium World, but idgaf it's gorgeous. Question 4....... *coughcirquecough* I don't wear nudes really at all? I have a really hard time finding any that look right on me, I feel like. I am *much* more likely to wear a bright pink or a true brown than anything in the middle of those.
I can’t do scented or textured nail polish. If I can smooth the texture with a few layers of top coat it’s fine- so most glitters are ok for me, but texture just makes me pick at the polish. I still haven’t bought holo taco because of the price.
- [ ] A popular polish you don’t like. Mooncat - every single one I’ve tried has been thick and frustrating to work with. I’m with you on Glass Frog too. - [ ] A polish everyone hates but you like. I know there is a lot of hate for thermals, but I adore them, especially Fancy Gloss thermals. - [ ] A nail polish finish you don’t like. I’m not sure what it’s called but it’s a type of shimmer that results in a “foiled” appearance. - [ ] A popular brand you think is overpriced. Don Deeva and Femme Fatale - [ ] A trend you can’t get on board with. Highly textured polish - [ ] A trend you didn’t like at its peak but do now. Crackle toppers - [ ] A color you don’t wear often or at all. Orange, yellow and brown - [ ] A polish you like but think is overhyped. Wildflower Perhaps a Christmas Gourd; it’s gorgeous, but I have other reds in my collection that are just as lovely. - [ ] A popular top coat you don’t like. G & G or Cuticula just do not work well for me. (Sweet and Sour Gloss Sauce, Dreamland Lacquer Ooh Shiny, and Baroness X Assimilate are my go-to QDTCs.) - [ ] A nail polish that does not get enough love. Not a particular polish or color, but Dreamland Lacquer and Witchcult Lacquer don’t get nearly the hype they deserve.
1. Holo Taco Got Cake? It looks like a streaky, cloudy mess in every photo I've seen, whether used alone or as a topper. 2. Holo Taco Featured Guest. I know a ton of people like this, but I've heard some UA-camrs complain about how it was their least favorite of that collection. I'm usually more of a in-your-face polish person, but I absolutely love the soft shade of gray and the subtle linear holo. 3. I don't get thermals. They look amazing but I would never buy one. They should be sold in minis if the pigment has such a short shelf life. The audacity of charging $14 for a nail polish that "expires" in 6 months makes me like brands that do a lot of thermals less. 4. Cirque. Those bottles are teeny. 5. Negative space manicures. Yes, I'm salty because my nails are too stained to pull it off, but I also think it's a lot of nail art work to go through just to make your nails look like you lost interest halfway through painting them. 6. Reflective. 7. Peaches and corals. 8. the Bee's Knees lion siblings. I have a bunch and I adore them, but there's this cultlike aura around them that's unsettling. 9. Holo Taco Glossy Topcoat. 10. Sally Hansen Snow Globe. It truly looks like snow globe glitter, and it's super easy to remove.
A trend I don't like are the duck nails are those claw dinosaur nails. I'm like why, thought some duck nails do look good. A topcoat I didn't like is the OPI one, it kinda drags to dry and sometimes I get bubbles. I don't really like textured polishes. I got 2 polishes from sinful colors and I didn't really now they were texture, so when I put it on I was like wtf 😳 A color I really don't wear often is definitely yellow, I don't think yellow looks good on me and brown only bc I don't have much browns. I would love to have more browns tho. I'm living for aasy Nicole 😌😌
I like seeing those duck nails that have a concave tip edge, I feel that shape makes them look more elegant and intentional. Though I have seen a few straight-tipped duck nails that actually pull the look off well thanks to the art on them.
Thank you for talking me out of splurging on UP polishes. People online hype up UP so much as having this extra unique shifty full rainbow property so I reckon I would’ve been disappointed.
These chatty videos are so good! Would love to know why you don't like the Glisten and Glow top coat. I got it recently and I have mixed feelings, it's on the thicker side which I liked but I did also struggle a bit with bubbles if I wasn't careful enough. Have also tried the Cuticula limitless which was less problematic for me, so liked it better out of the two. If anyone has any other good top coats recommendations please let me know 😊
I don't hate crackle polish, but as a survivor of the crackle nail polish wars of the 1990s, I'm afraid to try one, as the results I got as a youth weren't great. I guess I need a better technique. P.S. I love those glasses!
Some brands also had not so good ones back then. I like using neon crackle colors, especially over similar color plain neon polish, for a neat texture, or over white/grey. Non-neons green over blue gives a stylized continents look. Though I was happy that multiple brands released black crackle polish during halloween. Now I just have to find some brand that does white crackle polish.
I enjoyed sassy Nicole. I don’t like prugly polishes. There’s nothing pretty about them. I think there are other shimmers out there now very similar to unicorn pee’s original version, so I don’t get the fuss.
My unpopular opinions: Jelly polishes are a waste of money. I don't get why you want to make your polish intentionally sheer. Yes, I said that! Also not a fan of "nude" colors. Then you can also just not wear polish at all 🤷🏼♀️. Additionally, matte anything is also not my cup of tea 😄
I feel like the only like jellies is when there are glitter or flakies added to give the nail a little something otherwise I agree. I don’t love plain jellies at all 😅
It’s in high demand because you can’t purchase it anymore. It’s used on American currency (if you look at a bill in the sun, you can see the color shift) so the government has halted its sale. I assume to reduce forgeries possibly? There are many dupe pigments available now, so it’s easy to replicate the effect.
REALLY unpopular opinion. I don't like halo taco, simplynailogical, and I don't like Cristine...yeah I know. She's just too dramatic, immature and obnoxious for me to watch. I used to watch her videos on mute, but I gave up 5+ years ago. And this is harsh, but it's my honest opinion. I feel like her success was mostly (dumb) luck. And she sold out WAY too fast. Her brand name, polish names, and viral polish mountain video ideas were recommended from her viewers. Her nail design mat was a complete rip-off of the silicone mat she had and recommended for years. She talked about how awful flimsy polish racks are. Then mass produced and sold them at a high dollar, despite them being cheap AF
1. Mooncat Pumpkin King 2. The only one that comes to mind that I own is Revlon Amethyst Smoke, because people have complained about the formula. I'm also not well versed in what colors other people don't like so... 3. 🫣 scattered holos when they're the only finish/effect in the polish. They're just....not interesting enough. Scattered holos + ___ (flakies, glitter, iridescence, etc), though? *chefs kiss* 4. Deborah Lippmann. $20 for a 15mL bottle of uninspired, poor quality polish. I bought one bottle because it matched the color of my bridesmaid dress perfectly and it was streaky and chipped faster than any other nail polish I've ever worn. For $20 it better be staying on my fingers for 2 freaking weeks. 5. Not sure if it's still a trend but I'm not a fan of charms that dangle off nails. It's just not for me. 6. Skittles, if skittles manis have passed their peak. 7. I too do not have or wear a lot of pale pinks 8. Gotta be Mooncat Dark Horse. I'm just....idk. Maybe it's just not the right brown for my skin tone so I like it but I'm not in love with it. Close second is ILNP Eclipse. 9. Does OPI count as a popular topcoat? I was using it up until halfway through this year when I got KBShimmer Clearly on Top and my life was changed. My eyes were opened. I didn't even know what I hadn't known until my nails were dry to touch in 5 minutes and fully cured in 15. 10. Either Holo Taco Lavender Syrup (how are people not walking around painting their skin in this color, it's so gorgeous) or Painted Polish On Cloud Wine or Cirque Monolith or -

Green is my favorite color in life 💚 but I’ve always felt weird about putting it on my toes
About to paint mine evergreen/pine green for the holidays!
100% with you on the UP and pearlescent!

"should I be petty?"
I ask this every hour....
Also....It took me months...but finally got Belugaria from Walmart and I love the absolute ick factor. Let the haters hate
I often have to ask myself if I’m being petty about something 🤣
11:09 I think the boutiques are overpriced in the sense that they’re indie prices for a factory-made product.
My immediate thought on that question was Don Deeva.
That subtle shade towards Glisten and Glow...Long live Sassy Nicole 👑 (but also spill the tea pls lol)
This nail polish tag was SO fun back in the day (2017-ish) and needs to make a SERIOUS resurgence!! 😁💅🏼
Pearlescent is my favorite finish, so I love that it’s coming back! I haaaaate matte finish, though. I love how it looks on other people (especially dark red colors!) but it’s not for me

Another vote for texture in 2024! So satisfying to wear (I was surprised to like it so much.)

Omg I hate the hype around unicorn pee. I kept hearing about it and finally looked it up and was like “this is it???”
Same! I thought it was something my eyeballs had never beheld. And I hate the name with a burning passion “thee hee pee” ok.
YES oh my god the whole Glass Frog hype??? i do not understand.
Yes! I second crackle polish for the win! ❤ I’ve been wearing my zoya leopard spots this week!
I recently received Drunk Fairy Polish’s Shattered Dreams, and I am obsessed!

I totally agree about the pearl polishes. It is the only finish my Mom wore and I got so tired of seeing it as a girl.
I agree…I have huge disdain for pearlescent polishes. They are so grandma and that’s not the look I’m going for yet.
I loved hearing your opinions! I'm curious what your favorite topcoat is-- I'm using g&g right now and wondering if there are better options!
KBShimmer’s Clearly On Top and Salon Perfect Plumping Gel (it’s not really gel) are my current go-tos!
1) Artificial Orange by China Glaze. 2) pineapples Have Peelings too by OPI…..so ugly I love it and will never get rid of it. 3) pearlescent. Crackles don’t usually have much pull for me anymore except for the multichrome crackle I got from Rogue! Love it so much!

I loved this 😂…crackle polish was my jam back in the day, but not it’s cringe worthy for me 😂😂 …and G&G is my fav 😂💀
I have like 3-4 bottles of Bulgaria and it’s supposed to look like Caviar! Tfs ❤
Omg thank you for saying Glass Frog I cannot understand the hype 😂
Same!
I completely agree with your take on question 5!

Loved this video. I’m with you on the Glisten and Glow top coat. Love the shine but it shrinks like mad on me so that’s a no for me
I didn't even know Belugaria existed!!! It's stunning and reminds me of black truffles (Tuber melanosporum)! NEED!!! I'm an amatuer mycologist and I NEED THAT POLISH!
It’s such a cool polish! I hope you’re able to track down a bottle!
I think Belugaria is so cool, definitely looks like Beluga caviar. But I think I’d never wear it, it’s more like a novelty thing for me because I love food and beverage themed polishes.
Not the Essie one you like 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the texture just burned my eyes 🤣 ooogleeeeey
I’m relatively new to the indie nail polish world and I happened to see Glass Frog the first time I decided to check out what PPU was all about. It was the only polish that caught my eye, because I love the blue/green combo, but I agree the hype was too much!
Have you done a video on your favorite pinks and favorite golds? I know how much you love GOOOOOLLLLLD and Pank so I'd love videos on your faves of those 2 colors.
I love the petty❤
lollllll I have the same answer for popular polish I don't like. Like, I get it, but I don't really *get it*.
The only polish I have that I *love* that complete strangers have told me is ugly is Pepper Pot Polish's Radium Girls in a Radium World, but idgaf it's gorgeous.
Question 4....... *coughcirquecough*
I don't wear nudes really at all?
Don Deeva and Femme Fatale
- [ ] A trend you can’t get on board with. Highly textured polish
- [ ] A trend you didn’t like at its peak but do now. Crackle toppers
- [ ] A color you don’t wear often or at all. Orange, yellow and brown
- [ ] A polish you like but think is overhyped. Wildflower Perhaps a Christmas Gourd; it’s gorgeous, but I have other reds in my collection that are just as lovely.
- [ ] A popular top coat you don’t like. G & G or Cuticula just do not work well for me. (Sweet and Sour Gloss Sauce, Dreamland Lacquer Ooh Shiny, and Baroness X Assimilate are my go-to QDTCs.)
- [ ] A nail polish that does not get enough love.
@@Call-me-Al I agree, some of them do look stunning
crackle tho
Love this type of content!
Thank you for watching! 🙏
Crackle pearlescent polish 🤣 I don't like linear holo btw
3:15 No, because now I have to go buy belgaria!
I have no idea what unicorn pee even is!!
Really testing our friendship RIGHT OFF THE BAT
Lmao sorrrrry 🤣🤣
Thank you for talking me out of splurging on UP polishes. People online hype up UP so much as having this extra unique shifty full rainbow property so I reckon I would’ve been disappointed.
No problem! Like it’s pretty but for in your face extreme color shifty goodness, UP isn’t the one 🥲Especially for the price point
If anyone has any other good top coats recommendations please let me know 😊
Sweet & Sour Gloss Sauce and Vibrant Scents Fast n Hard are my faves!
@@wendidimus I've heard good things about the Sweet & Sour one but unfortunately both of those aren't sold in my country 😔
💚
Omg TIL not everyone says ethereal the same way! Lol I always say it differently from the customary eth-ear-real pronunciation
Honestly I love how that word sounds when said that way but I never remember to say it that way 🤡
I actually bought a bottle of Bulgaria just to have it & no intention of wearing it 😂 I was not impressed with Mooncat even buying on sale
The way she pronounced Bulgaria had me 💀
Lol I feel like no matter how many times I have Google pronounce something for me my mouth never is able to repeat it 🤣
My unpopular opinions: Jelly polishes are a waste of money.
I don’t love plain jellies at all 😅
@@NicoleLovesNails exactly! I love the jellies with stuff in them, but not on their own
Nicole, beacuse of you I had to look up that ugly Essie and guess what i bought it!!!…beacuse I couldn’t stop thinking about it 😂😂😂😂
LOL it’s such a cool polish!
Lumen glass frog is so overrated 😅
Unpopular opinion a nude shade does not equal tan shade
What is unicorn pee?
It’s a pigment that shifts from red to green
@@nluther22 thank you
It’s in high demand because you can’t purchase it anymore. It’s used on American currency (if you look at a bill in the sun, you can see the color shift) so the government has halted its sale. I assume to reduce forgeries possibly? There are many dupe pigments available now, so it’s easy to replicate the effect.
@@Diametricallyopposed00 I never knew it was used on bills. I had no idea!
1. Mooncat Pumpkin King
*chefs kiss*
7. I too do not have or wear a lot of pale pinks
