I would just like to correct you a bit. The Viking invasions seem to coincide with the new year so the people coming in are from the new year not the Viking attacks though fending off the Vikings gives a happiness boost so the Viking attacks can be a good thing. Other than that, absolutely amazing video can't wait for more.

This got me bamboozled so I had to double check =D
6:00 We got 4 people from the year and went from 43 to 47.
Then we went from 47 to 56 when we defeated the vikings even though we had 49 beds.
People from the yearly income can't join a kingdom that doesn't have enough beds so we did get the vikings into our population😁
This didn't used to be a thing. I don't know when they updated this but I like this change a lot! ^^

@D_egi 's comment got me to triple check and it looks like he is right. The vikings who were invading at 6:00 mark were carrying hostages from a kidnapping and we freed them by killing the vikings and those people joined our kingdom🤯

@@ElkkuTVGI believe if you have a church or chapel there is a chance that some invading Vikings convert and join your kingdom

@@simpli_histori Cathedral has that in the tool tips at least I've re watched the viking attack few times now slowed and I think they are carrying kidnapped people with them.

Makes sense that the kidnapped people would be freed but I didn't know vikings go for more trips after they've landed into 1 kingdom. They used to just leave the map once they attacked.

@@ElkkuTVG Our Kingdom Geography wasn't laid as good as it could have, but the good side is that at least the Vikings and Dragons will hit the AI first, before us, and their forces are weak when they land on us. 😄
This is honestly an interesting situation and challenge for our newly-established Settlement.

i imagined lore for this
for many years this archipelago was occupied by tribes that constantly fought each other for power until some never seen before people arrived from the seas and started colonizing the tribes fought back but they were no match for the technology of the foreigners not even a hundred hits with one of our stone weapons on one of their armors could break it you were in one of the tribes and managed to steal a ship to flee to the center of the archipelago on the ship had a lot of their technology you learned to use their technology and now started your own kingdom with the goal of liberating the archipelago also adopting the foreigners strange system... feudalism
this just popped up in my head the moment i saw the map

Btw how do you get those call maps you play on ?? With like 5 islands

I just kept randomizing the worlds until I had something cool and then added 1 big island by hand but there is a mod called "New lands" on the workshop. I haven't tried that before but it might be able to generate this type of map automatically ^^

@@willstarr3060 After you've rerolled a map that you like you can go back to menu. Go to creative change the map. Go back to menu and choose the difficulty you want
