Has anybody else had issues with too many photos? I’ve spent the last year trying to organize my damn photos. Thanks to technology there’s no limit on the amount of photos you can take, so I accumulated a good 30 THOUSAND of them and it’s been an absolute nightmare trying to arrange them properly. I’m down to 20K now that are fairly organized, but I’m still working on it. My digital minimalism pro tip: Don’t take so many photos!!! You’ll take the same photo trying to get better angles, lighting etc. thinking you’ll just go through them later and delete the ones you don’t like, but eventually it’s going to pile up and you’ll be left with the same nightmare I was, wishing you hadn’t taken so many photos lol. Great vid btw! Subscribed.
My solution to this was to stop taking photos almost entirely, and with the ones I have and was sorting through, setting a limit of 100. I love my dogs, but I won't save more than 100 photos of them. If I take more, I'll pick my favorite and lose the rest, and over the past 2 years+ with my pup, I'm currently at 80 photos of him. He's an old rescue who probably won't live too much longer, so we'll see if I even hit 100, with how rarely I'll add photos to the album nowadays since I've stopped taking them hardly ever.
@@blustamove Yup! I've never gone back and looked at pictures much, but sometimes I'll find myself pulling up the album to appreciate how each picture is unique in showing his little personality, and I know I'll appreciate them so much more once he's gone. Back when I had hundreds and hundreds of pictures of him, I... honestly didn't care too much. Now I do :D
I honestly feel like that excessive consumption of time on my phone „sucks out my soul“ in a sense as if it’s draining me, even though I‘m not doing anything - This video came just in time, thank you man!
This editing and this footage is absolutely beautiful. I love it, and I know how much work filming this footage took! It's almost perfectly synced, especially the scenes with gadgets seemingly "going into" the phone. Absolute masterpiece. Subscribed.
Dump everything into a couple of folders. I have about 70% of my apps in one. Having to use the "search" function to find anything keeps you from compulsively checking your phone. My screen time is usually under 1/2 hour per day.
Loved this, PLEASE do one about digital addiction/minimalism related to online tv programs and seasons!(anime, Kdrama,Netflix,UA-cam) THERE are very few videos on it and I really need it since keep coming back to waste time on it
Yeah, I'm totally addicted to UA-cam... I recently deleted twitter, instagram, and reddit from my phone (I don't use facebook), but I just can't stop watching youtube videos (either on my phone or computer). Maybe because so many of them are educational or thoughtful in nature, it feels like I'm learning and I can justify it like that... 😬
Honestly this video was incredibly helpful for me. Not only did it make me realize how much time I'm spending on my devices, but it gave me actionable steps for what I can do about that. So many other videos on the subject just tell you to toss your phone and never use it again, and I really like that this one gives you ways to create a meaningful digital space without taking it to extremes
I have no apps on my homescreen except Spotify, Audible and my camera. I also realized that I am basically addicted UA-cam. I decided which creators I actually want to watch and turned on notifications for them. This stops my muscle memory from opening the app and scrolling.
I decluttered my phone and deleted my iPhone calendar and iPhone map because I use Google version on daily basis... just 1 week before I watched this video... I've also hid my Instagram on the next page in a folder. We use similar strategies. I feel so proud of myself!! Thank you, I feel very encouraged by this particular video :)
Thank you for this kind of videos! I've been trying lessen my screen time, maybe I'll hide my cellphine somewhere to avoid fidgeting on my phone when I wake up
I also like to get rid of those red numbers of unread items, because they can create a feeling of anticipation. If an app sends too many of those alerts, you can customize app's notification in the settings. It bugs me so much when people have like 900 unread just staring at them (and me when I am allowed to take a look at their screen).
I have an alarm in Instagram and Facebook, so i see when i am longer there then i eantveach day. And i don't have any notifications for WhatsApp, Facebook,... Only when someone calls me on the normal way. :D Good video ✨
I love your videos! Your tips are very practical, and your editing is just beautiful. You insipre me a lot on my path to minimalism. Thank you so much :)
Hey, im really glad you are doing something that is meaningful. This is relevant. And you .... Well you keep doing you. Seems like you're heading upstream. :) Thank you for this bro!
For a few months now I've been decluttering my social. What I'm still interested on? Is this content making me happy, adding something to my day? Do I still agree with this person /institution values and opinions? These questions helped me a lot into cleaning all my social apps. Instagram is such a rabbit hole....
Social media takes a lot of my time so I decided to delete Instagram and Twitter whenever it reaches the limit that I have set. Anyways, thank you for this amazing video!
Physical and digital clutter are both stressful for everyone. I guess 1 hour of digital declutter every weekend is another way to avoid digital clutter. I usually took many screenshots if I found a clip or moments that I like. However, I will stop doing that because I did not realize it can be too much. I can always view it later. I can take one good shot if really like it or it's hard to find later but I think I want to reduce that habit.
Can you please do a video on how to declutter picture I have tons of them!! Btw hats off to your video's I can genuinely related with you everytime it's so realistic and to the point!!🙌🙌 Love from India ☺️🌸
Remember to be intentional about what you’re going to do with the time you gain. If not it’s going to be replaced by a bad habit unless you intentionally replace this time with a good habit
I don't feel guilty when use my phone to listen to music or watch interesting videos. I try not to mindlessly scroll on Twitter without interacting with my mutuals, and I'm spending even less time on FB and IG (I only keep them to stay in touch with my online friends there) My phone has limited memory, so I'm often deleting apps and backing up as well. I hope I can keep detoxing even when I get a new phone. One thing I'm guilty of is download a lot pictures of things I love (you don't want to see the thousands of pictures I have, especially on my computer). I put them in folders marked by topic or years and they're often fairly organised, but can sometimes get overwhelming.
If I find apps that I dont use, n if I cant del them if they are coming with product like google or with phone, I make a folder put them in it and forget. But social media is a big time waster. Also I had a bad habit of saving every pic I come in contact or taking screenshot whereever I find something important. Then I never find time to see those pics and sort them and this is the huge clutter.
This is quite informative. A book on the same subject comes highly recommended. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
I turned off notifications on my apps other than the ones I know people need to contact me on such as Facebook messenger (I can't scroll Facebook on this app), and the iPhone messenger.
I have an issue with too many PHONES.. Seriously, I can't decide on what phone to use so I have multiple phones.. It is crazy, Before I minimize my phone, I have to minimize my phones....
I have been on and off on fb for 3 years. I download again when i want to use, and then i deactivate my account and delete app. Recently i use fb again and i couldnt stop scrolling, so i decided to deactivate for good and delete app again haha
Nice. But you have to try to review Blloc Ratio. It's for Android phone. But I think Iphone user will be jealous about this. Blloc Ratio is the best launcher for minimalist user. Dont believe in me until you try it.
Why is no one talking about how good the editing is tho? Great video as usual thank you for this!
I'm happy you enjoyed it. Appreciate the nice words! 🙏
Ckspace has great video editing skills, sometimes it feels like I am watching a magic show
Yes amazing!
@@CKSPACE where did you learn to edit
Yessss
sometimes my muscle memory is so strong that I close the app only to open it again a second later

I’m doing this too once I move out of the city in October!!
A friend of mine never bought a smartphone or a tablet. I used to think it's a bit weird, but I'm kind of jealous of them now.
Im thinking of doing the same too. But would need to get a home phone first 😳😳
