I don't understand why they didn't even try to let that poor pup have a chance at life. I get that Demodex mange, especially when contracted at birth, is very hard to overcome, but not even giving the pup a go at it is just heartbreaking. I'd have taken him on and at least gave him a chance at it.
I agree with you. I think it was because of the cost of treatment..firstly the demodex treatment, which would be a few weeks ..then he'd need to be neutered..then getting him up to his proper weight..all costs money..I'm sure if they'd really tried by contacting their networks of foster families then someone would have taken him on..poor boy deserved better from us humans..he was neglected then when you think he'll be fine because he'd bee n rescued..humans gave up on him..its bloody heartbreaking 💔
I find it incredibly sad that Bono wasn't given a chance at a good life. Blood transfusion against the anemia, correct treatment against the demodex mites, a clean and stable environment, good food and a lot of love would have strengthened the immune system and soon made this dog healthy again. Of course this costs time and money, but that doesn't seem to be available for this animal. With the help of a good foster home and donations, the dog could have been saved!

They had everything else available but they did not have the money for a blood transfusion to correct the anemia.
We have about 20 peabirds. They are harmless.
