Hi, my name is Elie Moses and I am a 24 Year-Old Law and Film student here in Sydney, Australia. I have decided to watch what is considered the greatest TV SHOW of all time 'THE WIRE' for the FIRST TIME!! Here is my reaction to episode 8 of season 4. BUNNY IS GETTING THROUGH TO THE YOUTH!

First time watching the wire (reaction)
The issue with the camera is that Herc took it without his lieutenant’s permission and set up surveillance without a warrant. It wasn’t just about the cost of the camera, it was more about that the camera was valuable enough that *somebody* would notice it’s missing, and when that happened Herc would have to admit what he did.
The actor who played Colonel Raymond Forester passed away in real life from cancer. That’s why they wrote in the character death, as sort of a tribute to the actor.
"You drive the guns to the water, you look around, you ain't see nobody, you throw the guns... in the water! Splash!"
Simple!
Ok, if, as Namon alluded to in an earlier episode that Snoop’s sister is in his class, then she’s the one they show a couple of times very early in this in one about the “dinks”..,right?
Yeah, she's the one who's shown on screen when Prez says "he wants to be fair and distribute.." in the opening minute of the episode. Also shown shaking her head and holding her chin after Prez says "A, 4"
@@FrenchieQcExactly!!
Those arrests were beyond absurd. The first guy on the bike, the cops know the corner kids will spot them, so they offer to pay a guy on the street to buy it for them, and then they arrest him. He's not a drug dealer in any way, except they talked him into getting it for them.
That’s the Eastern district for you
If you remember that white girl from last season who rolls through the hood with that tude like, "just give me the dr*gs and don't try to make conversation, ew!" That's the same girl now that you called Faith. This is Act 2 for her story arc.
"Like Zorro, huh?" is one of the funniest lines in the show, just Bunk's incredulous tone.
Elie I need you to come back with the next episode ASAP if possible. It's about to be POPPING 💥
Just as a side note, I agree with you, those subtitles are god awful, probably AI generated.
One thing that always bothers me is the subtitles always say n^^^er instead of n^^^a which always bothers me because the only characters who use the er are the white characters which is to imply some type of racism. And of course stringer bell on occasion says it. But we know it's because he's British so it's understandable
Stephen King said that Snoop was perhaps the most terrifying female villain ever to ever appear in a tv show.
Chris and music is like Weebay and the fish
U throw the guns.... IN the water. Splash!
Your takes on Herc and Carv are accurate. Herc's been a dope this deason.
Where you at Bro, I came home hoping you posted. What's up.
B5 got all the Dinks
This episode, I really do believe exemplified the cold hearted nature of Snoop. They go from burying some New York drug dealers they just killed to casually asking Chris is he wanted to eat some Chinese food. As though the act of killing and hiding a body was nothing out the norm. This showed how dark some hearts could be from the streets. For some of them taking a life is as natural as an action as eating a meal when you are hungry.
LATE: So during Carcetti's Eastern ride, the guy on the bike was asked to pick up drugs for someone else. Be the middle man between taking their money to buy straight from a corner boy to deliver it back. Then the biker said "y'all lazy... the dude was right there" and then the cops arrested him for that.
I don't think that it was Carcetti being white per se. Kima and Crutchfield just wanted to fuck with a suit 😁
Velchek has Rank and experience. Herc took the Camera under false pretenses. With a C.I. as his probable cause, and there is no such informant.
Herc is trying to clean up by getting Marlo on something.
Season 4 is great but its SO emotionally draining to sit through. Such heavy stuff.
WIRE TRIVIA: The actress who played Teresa (Carcetti's campaign aid he almost had "relations" with the night Royce conceded the election) was actually pregnant, and gave birth, during the filming of season 4. That's why we didn't see her torso alot, and she was wearing loose fitting shirts.
Oh wow?! Really?! That's shocking. Sis looked great not for nothing.
@@monadreher2428 yah definitely. Played her role to a "T".
@@timtapp5931 Lmao clever friend.
Season 4 is an illustration of how some are unfit for police work, no matter the rank they are able to achieve. Herc can't see the forest for the trees and makes so many bad choices because he does not have the right temperament or instincts. Walker -- the thieving cop who took Randy's money and Marlo's / Omar's ring -- is just as criminal and depraved as the so-called "bad" guys.
I would like to note that what rawls is saying isnt technically wromg. But he is trying to play into race too much. We as the audience knows he is just as guilty of playing status games.
Hes trying to play into a assumed veiw point he thinks tommy might share. The fact that tommy is a Italian who ran on crime policy. Usually these type of people also believe in affirmative action being a big issue and rawls is using it as a negative to say that its because people are picked for rank because of race and this is why the department is so fucked up.
We know this is kinda true for Burrell even tho you could argue this isnt that true because when the show started a white man was the police commissioner.
Luckily tommy doesn't fall for it because rawls is in the second highest postion. If he made it too this level. Logically he would have had to be part of the problem. Usually people who succeed in a broken system usually take part into the problem. They wont promote someone who actually fights against the system. You see that with danials who while hes played the game. He actually puts in the work instead of being a follower of higher ups like rawls
Your talking about Marlo in the park. Marlo is from the Westside of Baltimore.
Which is a small City itself. There are a handful of places he could go. First even if hes in the Park, there's no drugs or illegal activities going on around there. Even if there vicious they have rules.
I told you all the storylines this season were on point. I'm sure others will explain the Herc situation to you so I'll leave that to them but personally for me I actually really enjoyed Marlo messing around with Herc 😂😂😂 Even though I don't like Marlo it was so so satisfying watching Herc fail over and over LMAOOOO their feud is honestly one of my favorites in the show tbh. Marlo is such a great villain. Only one more episode until that final stretch. God bless 🙏
I mean, we all dislike Marlo, we just dislike Herc even more 😂
@@thegrimner Lmaooooo you ain't never lie friend 😂
Yo, don't feel bad for Herc. He cut corners with a fake C.I. and he harassed a innocent passenger from illegal means.
The subs really are truly bad at times lmao. They called duquan de la croix at one point 😂
Bank of England glass was transcribed as "Vannca Anneealing" :))
It goes with what Bunny Colvin was saying about the corner boys. About how the thought pattern is, to reach them you have to understand them. first there
Kids "They know only what they know" (Wallace coming back to the projects)
Bodie, Poot, Michael. Mind State.
No Namond problem is he isn't tough enough to gain respect to keep a corner.
They ran him off the corner, Namond isn't telling her the truth. The Mom thinking of Wee bey but it's up to her Son to hold it down.
Your wrong about Herc too. Herc is the same dude that went to the Highrises
At night with Police Brutality (The Western District way) the same guy who beat on a teenage Bodie because he could. C.I. Fuzz Dunlap B.S., Harassing Randy when he only was to question and Taken to
Bunk, Etc. Best thing Carver isn't with him, Bad influence.
Herc would be a bad influence to Carver; at this point there's no way Carver would be a bad influence on Herc.
He'd pump his breaks.
@@Bellamy_Koby My man, your on it👍🏿
Landsman with the Omar innocence thing is my least fav Landsman moment; more than the Ziggy f up
Perfect timing…let’s go!!!
Your wrong about Michael not looking at people in the eyes.....
Go back to past episodes and pay attention to the coming ones. When he deep in thought coming up with answer to a problem for himself, he doesn't put others advice over his own. When he is talking to dookie and Randy about a
His home issues he thinks with his head down, it's a mannerism.
People usually note that he struggles to look other men in the eyes; only context is think he does is when on the corner job.
@@Bellamy_Koby Example, Marlo was giving out money for school clothes, and Michael turned it down when
Marlo stepped to them about it he looked him dead in his eyes, and Marlo seen Strength not fear. Same thing as Chris.
@@BruceJohnson-om5klthat’s literally one scene bro. And if you actually watched the scene you can clearly see Micheal looking at the ground the whole time untill Marlo tried to pink him so he looks strait at him to show him he’s not soft. Plus Micheal doesn’t look at the people in the streets as older MEN. they only 8-15 years older then him
