That scene where Kate and Jack meet Eko lives rent-free in my head. Imagine fearing The Others and the moment you relax a bit playing golf you're suddenly face to face with one of the biggest dudes on the island, carrying another dude.
I'm from Bosnia and these arrive here in the morning. Thank you for making my mornings more interesting and giving me content to enjoy with my morning coffee. 🇧🇦❤🇦🇺
18:01 That is LOST’s main theme by Michael Giacchino. It is introduced in the Pilot and it is the main survivors’ theme - it’s great in that it connects to the characters and it is a constant reminder of the original plane crash. It’s a shot of nostalgia each time you hear it, MG uses it more and more sparingly in order to make you miss hearing it and to really make you look back and think fondly of the simple early seasons and the community they formed. I can tell you now the more you watch the show and hear it the more profound it becomes. There’s something so moving and simple about it - it takes you back to a time before everything got so complex in the story. Great reaction!
What really makes Lost a different beast in the "showbiz" is this capacity of making human beings, human beings. Just started watching "Ha, it's Ana Lucia's flashback". Bet you had some idea or concept of Ana Lucia, but once her past is a bit more exposed, I bet at the end of reaction you're more sympathetic. You can see there's not all White and not all Black in each an every character. You can see their good deeds and also bad ones and realise that what really makes you love Lost... is the character depth. They seem familiar people. Now, the funny part Elie, is... When it got out I was about your age by S6. And with all things I've already been through life, in retrospective, Lost is an even better show. So, Happy 20th Birthday to Lost and all the rich character build it has. For me, still unbeaten and the show that changed a lot of stuff, forever. Namaste!
Made pause and you just went about creators trying to make her sympathetic. That's it man, you really understand this show! You'll be a true Lostie by its end! :D
Worth mentioning that sometimes it was like 2-3 weeks between episodes. They had an insane release schedule. I watched all of LOST when it was on air and waiting for the next episode was agony haha
I was always completely baffled that between Sawyer, a crim, Kate, a crim, Locke a hunter, Sayid a soldier and Jack a surgeon, that none of them could pick the lock on Jin's handcuffs. Absolutely baffled.
This episode contains my favorite continuity error. Sun finds out that her husband is nearby and he's currently being held at gunpoint. So her next move is to ... go back to the beach and calmly do laundry? Are you serious? She's so oblivious that she's literally the last person on the beach to notice the returning group. What the actual hell? (I suspect what happened was they filmed the beach scene, a big scene with a lot of characters, first. Then, when they were assembling the episode in editing they realized Michael didn't know about the hatch and would need someone to take him there. They picked Sun for this, not thinking about the beach scene, and shot the extra scenes of Michael running into her and Sun being in the hatch) It's not a big deal, but I find it hilarious that it makes Sun look like a sociopath. Lol
If this was multiple days and she was like Rose (trying to keep herself busy and avoid worrying) I could see this happening; but as the episode is presented there's no way that she wouldn't stick around the hatch to know more about what happened to her husband. Also I hope this isn't a spoiler, but for a show that pays so much attention to detail, they aren't always consistent with the distances between the beach, the cave, the garden and now the hatch. Either the hatch is right next to the beach or it's far enough that there's enough time for Michael to inform Sun about the situation while they walk.
man, the time between the finales and the season premieres were full on torture!! I worked an office job when this show aired and it was LITERALLY water cooler talk around the work place. Our theories about what was going on in the show etc...such a special time.
It happened to Ana twice: first, she trusted the kid and was shot by him, losing her baby as a result, then, on the island, she trusted Goodwin, and because he reported to the Others, the kids from their camp were taken as a result, the kids Ana felt responsible for. I do not love her, but I also do not blame her for being so on edge. Also, Naveen's acting as Sayid in this episode is superb!
Woooo! Stylin and profilin' with the Sopranos shirt! Loving these reactions, always look forward to the next one. This dropped like a minute ago so my comment is before watching this one, but wanted to say I'm loving your reactions. I used to admin a very large LOST Facebook group and it's amazing how active the LOST community remains to this day. Hope you enjoy all the upcoming episodes and seasons!
Was just about to click on what Kate did.... then the brain engaged!. It's 8 in morning here! Then I'm like....Where's Collision!?😂 Double upload!..... Your spoiling us!❤
The week between was used well for some. I would get a download of each ep the next day and watch it two or three times before the next ep dropped. I had seen the season 3 or 4 times by the time it finished. then watched the whole season again just before the next season started. That and Lost forums and websites kept us busy.
I think Ana Lucia reacts this way after killing Shannon because she thinks Sayid will react like she did with her shooter. She killed him after several months for killing her baby. She believes Sayid will kill her even after several months for killing the woman he loved. So she puts herself in a defensive position. She can't just kill Sayid because she knows she is responsible for his pain. That he doesn't deserve this pain, just like she didn't deserve this pain after losing her child. There is only one solution: to run away. That's why she sends Michael to get food and clothes. She's not a bad woman. But the island changes people, as we saw in Tabula Rasa. She tried to protect her "people" as best she could. Going a little too far sometimes. As did Jack, Sayid, Charlie, ...
"Pause!" Haha. The number of innuendos during the Jack & Kate golf scenes are hilarious. Also, yes, Rose & Bernard are the best couple on the island right now.
Elie, my mom was a police officer when she was pregnant with me. They are still on patrol early on in the pregnancy. My mom didnt switch to desk work until months into the pregnancy. Ana's story was always very touching to my mom and she is my moms favorite character, even though she recognizes her flaws
To be fair, at this time, Michelle Rodriguez had been in the Fast and the Furious and... that's about it. If anything, this role (on such a prominent network TV show) is what actually contributed to her typecasting.
If it was to keep something out, the word “Quarantine” would have been written on the outside of the hatch's door, not the inside... But the contradiction is the handle which is on the inside of the hatch door, and none on the outside
During its original run the online community discussion was a big deal. The time between episodes and seasons allowed viewers to constantly theorize about the show. Yeah, those were good times.
One more thing. After you watch some more, you can watch director/producer commentary. Avoid now for spoilers. But I can say (no spoilers) that the actors didn’t know what was going on, but were directed as the directors and producers knew. I’d say it’s likely she was directed to play Anna Louisa’s character in this way.
28:30 That's very interesting, the parallel between Jack and Ana Lucia : this episode shows how both are quick to use weapons, they have the exact same reflex to think they must fix things with guns, and go to the weapons instantly... "Think about what John ?" ... They both act instantly without thinking... But for one it is justified (Ana Lucia had to react instantly without thinking to protect the group from an immediate lethal threats against her group) while for the other one, not quite (Jack had more time than Ana Lucia to think but did not want to use it on that purpose)
Your the Sopranos tshirt reminds me that you should also react to alternate endings of LOST that were shown in Jimmy Kimmel's show 😂. Maybe on a live stream 🎉. After watching the whole thing of course 🌷🙏. You'll die laughing 🤣.
There's no dialogue - just cinematography and Michael G music from 5:10 to 1:10 (real episode time, not this reaction time) - FOUR STRAIGHT MINUTES - EPIC story telling - my favorite mid-season ending of any episode in any season.
I’m pretty sure that Ana Lucia was early into her pregnancy( 1st trimester if she even knew at that time) that’s why she was still in the field. I can only imagine how heartbreaking and traumatic it must have been for her to be shot, almost die, and then find out she was pregnant but lose the baby 😢. Does it justify her killing the guy? Up to the viewer Reunion scenes ALWAYS hit on Lost.
Those reactions make me mad 😉 cause they remind me how good lost was in early stages. And even when the story got so convoluted and stopped making sense, it still was a gripping and entertaining watch. Yeah i know i know, some people loved the last season and the resolve. Sadly I didnt at all 🙄😢 But hey man, hopefully you'll like the ending 😜
But see that's the problem. It never really stopped making sense, it just stopped making sense to you. The entire show was fantastic IMO because I was a huge nerd and studied each episode so I totally made sense out of it. But I don't mean this response as trying to argue. We each have our own opinions and I respect yours brotha!
What you said about these characters is why this show succeeded and all its clones (Flashforward, The Event, etc) failed. Those shows prioritized mystery over characters
Shannon's character was treated badly here by the writers. Yes, she was already dead and there was nothing they could do for her but the other characters seemed more interested in getting Sawyer back to the camp and seemed prepared to just leave Shannon lying there 😢
On my first watch I HATED Ana Lucia, like she pissed me off so much and prob my most hateable character in the show but after some rewatches I do not hate her anywhere near as much. She def still ticks me off at points this ep prob being the peak of it but she's a fantastically written character with a great backstory and also excellently performed by Michelle Rodriguez. I don't love anywhere as much as I do Shannon at this point but like her a lot more than I once did. Tho she should have never been able to have become a cop even before her getting shot, way too aggressive and brash, I have to imagine she partly got in because of her mother having connections. Also since you are already so far ahead on Lost compared to what's been posted on UA-cam I thought I would go ahead and make you aware of this. So to help build hype for the show they would sometimes make and release in universe content for the show for those who really craved more Lost content like fake in-universe commercials, or in universe found footage videos, or in universe interviews. They were released throughout the course of the show often between seasons. Some major ones include a 13 ep webisode series to watch between s3 and s4, a mockumentary released between s4 and s5 but there was also some content released and should be watched between s2 and s3 as well. ua-cam.com/video/ppRmAYwRN-A/v-deo.htmlsi=N1paDv5r_Bt6cQBe This is a 12 min vid that someone compiled basically all of the between s2 and s3 released content of canon in-universe Lost content that helps build the lore of the series containing some commercials, an interview, and a found footage vid mainly pertaining to Dharma stuff. And nearly off of this the show doesn't really ever go into so its info is all new and not found elsewhere and just adds to the mystery. If you want to make a reaction of this(maybe have a mod check over it if need be) like you did with the bloopers that'd be awesome or just watch it on your own(dont watch till after s2 finale tho). This stuff is def not necessary viewing but it only adds to the Lost experience and given how engrossed you already are in this universe I just want to make you aware that there's more Lost in universe content out there(about 3 hours of content overall tho only 12 mins can really be watched before s3 lol) Loving the reactions cant wait to see more
I agree she shouldnt be a cop now, but we have no idea what she was like before she was shot. She might have a been a great cop and a caring person. Her trauma definitely changed her
If they wanted us to feel sympathy for Ana Lucia, they failed. She shot one of ours. Didn't matter that she was also on the plane. She killed a character that we had just started to appreciate. She hurt Sayid. At the time, everyone I knew, despised her.
But it was clearly an accident. I didn't like Ana Lucia during my first few watches, but only because of her brash personality, not because she accidentally killed Shannon.

33:42 But she didn't need her murder to be handled by the law, she wanted him dead ! Any other way would have been too kind, too soft, from her point of view !
