The opposition are crumbling away as each day passes. No wonder most of Te Pāti Māori rarely turn up in the House anymore. The far-left MPs have nothing to offer, and Chris Luxon is in a class of his own.

What is Honorable -- let alone "Right" Honorable -- about Christopher Hipkins? WE DUMPED his government with the biggest thud in history. Why? Because he made such a terrible job OF EVERYTHING. And far from taking responsibility for his (and his predecessor's) dreadful performance, he behaves like this. Instead of wasting Parliament's time in this manner, he should just resign . Kudos for Mr Speaker, who seems to be manning up about this nonsense.

The Mrs and I drove past some 'housing for the vulnerable' yesterday. As I pointed out, New build, double glazing, two heatpumps etc, etc. In fact most of the vehicles parked outside were newer than ours, plenty of money for vapes as well. Suppose that's communism, some are more equal than others. The rest pay through the nose for a house and maintenance.
Imagine thinking money grows on trees.. Just amazing. We will be dealing with the labour destruction for a long time.

The entire extent of nationals borrowing was 12 billion which is around how much the cuts equate to and hence why labour point to this. But labour borrowed nearly 90 billion and done worse by every metric. Lower taxes will stimulate the economy. A healthy economy requires low taxes, low spending and more private investment. Labour did everything wrong and it will take a long time to recover. I always encourage people to read basic economics by Thomas Sowell. It's not a political book as it doesn't outright prescribe policy. It's a book about economic history and outlines policies introduced, their intention and their outcomes in a number of countries. Labour's policies flew up red flags to people that know this material. Could of told you they would drive up rent, food and child poverty when they first announced them. I hope you are genuine in wanting to learn and read some economic history instead of continuing to polarize and fight for a team at the expense of new Zealand. Utopia doesn't exist. We have to accept trade off's to avoid collapse and get back to growth. I definitely don't agree with all of nationals ideas to achieve this, but the labour and greens party will ruin the country if given a chance. They are both completely incompetent.

Largely due to the fact that when the USA changes monetary policy the world feels the ramifications due to globalisation and currency trading ratios.
However spending deficits are what destroys currencies and economies over and over and over again. Its simply not something that should happen ever at the levels it does.

@@lloydbeattie9370 BRICS doesn't change much, creating CBDCs doesn't do anything but onboard the currency and upgrade its monetary veolocity.
The countries are still going to run enormous deficits, and the US dollar is still the global reserve.
The only difference is BRICS bypasses the SWIFT system so that countries like Russia can't be sanctioned using that system.
None of this actually fixes the deficits though, that can only be done by either a great reset, heavy cutbacks on government spending which includes social security etc or enormous GDP growth which is highly unlikely.
The only other option which is quite viable is bitcoin adoption.

I, along with 6 other adult family members have left New Zealand. Because of labour. They made our life financially unbearable there. We held off for as long as we could. Hopefully this will turn around. Hopefully.

Mr Hipkins where does all the money come from? There is no money tree - less workers = less tax = less money to pay for work projects therefore more people out of work.

It's as if labour got a lot of state house's built in 6 years. And what about schools. Oh that's right, labour bought all synthetic carpet tiles from America instead of nz made for schools. And how many new school buildings were built under labour in 6 years?! As for hospitals. The only one at top of head was a design for Dunedin (that covers Otago and southland for major surgery) that got scaled back to a smaller design because if cost blow outs. People were leaving nz (especially nurses, doctors, police, builders etc) in masses over the last 6 years for better wages and living conditions. Did hipkins forget that fletcher building and i think mainzeal (please correct me with that one) went bust under labour owing millions of dollars?! It seems odd that labour is having a go at national when labour cant look at the previous 6 years of miss management. They blame national for job losses yet who spent millions on buying products off shore (coal, synthetic tiles etc)
