I love that you are teaching this shortened form. So much of these arts are overstuffed and maybe pointless is unkind, but they aren’t essential for defensive application. Like in Bagua how I learned there are only the Mother Palms, Circle Walking and Single or Double Palm Change. Everything else is a blending of those elements to create a new form. Thus, forms are infinite and can begin or end however one likes. Which makes sense because Bagua was only taught to those who were already accomplished in another art.
Exellent, just beginners also need comments to the stepping behind one of the standing legs, just in the ending part of the video, which were not commented. A side step odiof the leg in the direction of moving to the side could be added before stepping behind the leg, otherwise a useful form of defensive footwork typical of Bo jutsu. Paul.69
which is actually not too surprising since this style also has a very complete sword form. You would want the skills developed in both the empty-hand and sword form to complement one another.
Well, he has ‘ you know I am right ‘ voice. The movements are hazy, no clear expression of the directions, For example brush knee , lower forward arm.has Peng upwards, lu backwards, and An downwards. Upper hand should have Jhi, forwards and finally An downwards. He has none of these clearly. He uses horizontal circle as the primary circle, wrong, should be a vertical one. Sadlly he thinks he’s right. Rubbish Tai ji
Earl Montague vibes...Respect!
thanks!

agreed..the long form is an hour long, but if you break it down it is just an exploration of the variations on the eight basic moves.
I would very much like to see you doing your techniques at speed with a larger non-compliant partner.
Wholeheartedly agree!

A lot of the footwork looks like fencing footwork.

Excellent concept. Bruce Lee studied western fencing and incorporated it into his style. The human body works most efficiently in only so many ways.
