I thought the same thing. It isn't normal behaviour for a bird. It's not as though it is being enticed by food. Glad it was ok though.

@@TheRealMaturecheese perhaps but European robins in Britain are known to show little fear of humans here because we feed them and they know we aren’t dangerous here (unlike in continental Europe where people shoot and trap them for sport). There’s an individual which always visits me for free peanuts. I throw one on the floor and it grabs it and flies of before coming back for another

I think it's because they are good at running. Other little birds hop around and are awkward on the ground, but robins have this tiny and adorable gait where they walk and run one step at a time, so they're quite agile on the ground.
      They also seem fairly intelligent.
Idk I just love robins. They lean forward like tiny little dinosaurs whenever they run.

    • @theotheseaeagle
      @theotheseaeagle Рік тому +47

@@NoBaconForYou not necessarily, the reason robins are so tame (at least in Britain) is because they associate humans with food. Often they will sit around when somebody is gardening to pick up any earthworms they dig up. This is not the case on continental Europe as people in continental europe kill robins for sport, so they have learnt to be wary of humans. Unlike in Britain where the killing of small songbirds is not practiced.

They are called Gardener’s Friend for a reason. They know no matter what we are doing in the garden, there will be a treat. Robins also know the majority of humans won’t harm them or indeed eat them! They do have predators of course and I bet they are confused as to why we, so caring in the face of it, allow a cat to come take over our home and we become their staff! 😂😂😂 Basically nurturing an animal that would eat them!

Some years ago, my father and I picked up a Crimson Rosella, which had flown into the kitchen window, and was in great shock from the awful collision. We carefully placed it on the washing trolley in the sunlight. After a while, it flew off. But curiously, a KING PARROT had been watching us, and came to inspect the spot when Crimson Rosella had originally fallen, then he perched on the trolley to inspect it, and then decided he wanted to be friends. He would come every day, and be fed by hand, get a rub on his front (and how lovingly he would look at us!), and would even come indoors to look for the bag of birdseed.

Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the evil in this world, God is full of justice, mercy and love.
Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans
. The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom.
If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. It's not about following the law - perfectly, as it's impossible - it's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction).
He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place.
He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it.
He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and ask Him to help us in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way.
NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER
If you have any questions let me know
      Xx

I love Robins and how cheeky they are. I've several in the garden, usually every year there's the baby/juvenile robins that grow up in front of your eyes. It's lovely to watch them starting out speckled and finally get their infamous scarlet breast colour. The other day I was out and there was one actually wolf whistling at me!. Weirdest thing..I was going .."Now you're too cheeky for your own good mate!". I had one visit me one year, tame as anything and would buzz around me, fly into the greenhouse and not leave my side. They're lovely little birds.

I love Robins. They always cheer me up. As a boy I remember helping my Dad unfreeze something under the car bonnet (it had snowed). Along came a Robin and landed on the car roof. I was awe struck and not expecting it to, but held out the palm of my hand for it to land on. To my delight it did and sat there for what seemed a very long moment. Me trying desperately not to shudder with the cold so as not to disturb it’s perch. I shall never forget that experience, nor subsequent experiences in the garden with these lovely creatures who are often right by you when digging, which is a bit of a worry when I’ve been using a spade!

I had a similar experience with a sparrow once when I lived in a bed-sit. It flew into the open window and when I calmed down, I went over to the dresser it was on and put out my hand, talking softly to it all-the-while. Eventually, it came and sat in my hand and I took it over to the window, still sitting in my hand, and it sat there for some time before it decided to fly off.

I did the same exact thing one time (bird on a chair) in Kona at a hotel facing the beach 2011. Took me 5 years to find out the type of bird. It was a juvenile java sparrow/ java finch. Cutest thing ever and a very rare experience to approach, pick up, and pet a bird like that! When we had to go 5 minutes later, I set it back on the chair and it flew down to the railing. So it was totally ok. Knew I wasn’t a threat. Animals know! I’ll bet you will always remember that til you’re 100!❤❤❤😊

Put Robin on a place where Cats and Craws can't fine him! Near you, or in that dense tree or hedge! After a while it will fly away again! Nice if you can keep an eye on it for an hour!
