Also in the UK the truck would be shorter with a much better turning radius because it does not have that wasted space in front of the driver, the engine would be under the cab . . .
that's a 46-48 ft refer and a short wheelbase daycab that's why he got it through in one shot its that 8-10 extra feet he's got that did it, that set up is made to get into tight spots with its side doors
How come the neighbors haven't complained about Truckers blocking intersections and causing delays, or is it legally truckers' route? I truly feel the pain and stress for those drivers.....What happens if he/she is a new driver, then what?

This happened to me once in the Bronx. My GPS told me to get off the highway at the wrong exit, and the fun immediately began. And for extra spice and excitement, I was in a commercial area. I almost took out a street lamp making a left turn. I had to get out and put my tandems all the way up in order to make the turn. Folks, DO NOT EVER use Co-Pilot as your trucking GPS. Nothing but garbage. I can't tell you how many times it has put me in stressful situations. This guy did it pretty easy because he's in a daycab. The trailer also appears to be less than a 53-footer.
@thegeth4293 Let me be clear. Most of the apps let you enter a truck's attributes. But that doesn't make a difference. Apps like Copilot and Hammer have a LOT of kinks and quirks. They will tell you to go a different route without any logical reasoning. Just two weeks ago, in a little town in Cali called Loomis, Hammer told me to get off the highway. Luckily, I followed my instincts. That route change was just a series of right and left turns into a RESIDENTIAL area that got me back on the same route a few miles down the road. Hammer does this sort of thing FREQUENTLY.
I know this is an old video but it somehow came up on my phone. It made me cringe watching it, but to be honest I was so relieved when I saw this driver get out of this that I just wanted to shake his hand at the end and say good job. These situations could happen to anyone no matter how long you've been doing this. It comes down to how you handle them when you do. I'd say he/she handled it very well and they probably breathed a huge sigh of relief when it was over and done with and most likely learned a lot in the process, so kudos to them.
They're street cleaning signs. No Parking on a specific day at a specific time frame when the street sweeper comes through. The near side is Friday 830-10am, I can't read the other side but it'll be a different day. It's called alternate side parking rules.
What he did was sized up that corner it was like he was in a wrestling match truck vs corner thats how it is all the time CAN I MAKE THIS TURN alot of times it NO keep straight driving look at your GPS figure out another route even if you have to drive a couple extra blocks MAKE IT HAPPEN...Day cap always makes it look easy proper turn I loved it 💯

@koolerstream921 You got that one right driver, especially the trailer tandems are slid fully forward. From your remark, I know that you already know that!!
@@tombeyer375 oh yes I do :) Hard to tell for sure but I dont think this drivers was pulled forward all the way, but there is still swing to worry about. I been driving about a year, I still fight the urge to pull to the right in situations like this or when pulling out of parking spots, in your head it makes sense and it would if tailswing wasn't a thing
@myperspective1400 Sometimes there's shippers/receivers, that have their facilities that require professional drivers to take their time, and navigate corners like this. Other times, the larger trucks have to reload shorter trucks, at another location, in order to deliver/pickup at these geographic locations. Hope this helps!
Literacy is a skill people if you don't know how to read Road signs and obey them (I'm talking about the black car under the no parking sign). How did you get your license? If that car obeyed the signs, that turn would be 1000% easier
If I was driving a semi truck with a sleeper cab configuration in new york city and I was gonna do a tight turn, it would be significantly harder for me do it. Unless, I drove all the way at the white marking and use the entire intersection to make a tight turn.
The truckers must feel like training for the Olympics before attempting this legendary turn
Sometimes, you actually have to do that in reverse to get to where they're gonna unload you.
In the UK, at least 8 of those cars would be illegally parked. The intersection is fine, the car parking is shocking!
Thats why no one wants to live in UK.
@BoxingBears these clowns are parked directly in the street but the brits are crazy 🙄

Day cab, 48 foot trailer and experinced driver! Add a 53 foot trailer and an OTR tractor, and it'd be a real cluster, to try to make that corner.

There is risk of the tailswing hitting the parked cars on the right when making such a sharp turn when you do that
