I usually listen to an album front to back. But I can’t help but going back and playing this song over and over. It’s so damn good. How can it be so short? That guitar, that riff. The groove. The production is so good.
It’s always the best ones that are the shortest sadly, i want big blue to repeat forever (also when i saw them in dallas the short ones were a little longer i think, sure felt like they were at least)
My daughter was born at 8:28 2/26/2020... this is the first song that I played for my little bambina... only fitting since she was in utero when my wife and I saw VW in Philly over the summer. This album is going to be the soundtrack to her childhood.
I was at the concert in Milan yesterday, and let me tell you, that "ciao ciao bambina" was the loudest I've ever heard a crowd scream a t a concert lol. they even sang it twice in a row! It was amazing!
They seem to be playing epic versions of these songs live on tour. I saw vids here when ‘2021’ and ‘Big Blue’ were first released and they turned like 2 minute songs into 7 and 8 minute proper jam sessions. They are really doing some beautiful stuff with the 3 new members they’ve added to the group, or maybe they’re just touring members. But from what I’m seeing and hearing, a good bit of these songs that are super short are becoming mesmerizing when played live. I’m so stoked for the Philly show Sept. 4th. Which is also my birthday woohoo.
Agreed. I turn my player to half speed which gives it a great, dreamlike quality and makes it last twice as long. Then I go back to full speed and rock out!
Did we just get trolled? How dare he... how dare he make a song this good and only make it 1:44 long. Like, what if Ezra knew that, and that's just how he gets his kicks these days and he's just a master level troll???
'Uuuuuuuh to an extent, yeah' This one reminds me of the production on some tracks from Fleetwood Mac's 'Tusk'...luckily I LOVE that album, and I LOVE this one!
No time to discuss it Can't speak when the waves reach our house upon the dunes Time cannot be trusted When the police come, they always come too soon Life felt like heaven today Like a foreign car, though, we are American-made I thought I'd probably stay But before I know it, I know it [Chorus] My Christian heart cannot withstand The thundering arena I'll see you when the violence ends For now, ciao ciao, Bambina [Verse 2] No signs of injustice No signs, but the flames that are filling up the room Fire cannot be trusted When the engines come, they always come too soon [Chorus] My Christian heart cannot withstand The thundering arena I'll see you when the violence ends For now, ciao ciao, Bambina My Christian heart cannot withstand The thundering arena I'll see you when the violence ends For now, ciao ciao, Bambina
I read a reddit thread on the meaning of this song, and I was blown away by the pure obliviousness and simplicity. This song puts forth a metaphor between the United States and the late Roman Empire, but then goes a step further and talks about a unique voice within the chaos who can accurately perceive the corruption surrounding him or her.
Tbh just sounds like a love song to me haha… like two ppl want to be together but everything in the world including politics and the damn weather is conspiring against them
This song already holds a special place in my heart. After my first bad breakup I played this song on repeat and it helped me calm down through the anxiety and panic attacks. Whenever I listen to this, it makes me sad and melancholy but calm never the less. I'm back on my feet but whenever I'm getting overwhelmed, I play this and it never fails to ground me. Thank you Vampire weekend for giving me a way to cope
I never knew how much I NEED vampire weekend and Wes Anderson together until this very moment and now I feel my life will never be complete until I experience this combination
Percussion of Vampire Weekend + Instruments of Contra + Upbeat tone of Modern Vampires Edit- After thinking about this for a while, I think the instrumentation is pretty distinguishably FOTB-y.
Forget 8 minute Cape Cod, we now require 6 minute Bambina
Tim Kozlenko !
Yassss
I always play it twice. I refuse to accept the run time!
OMG!!!Yes!! This need more longerrrr
it happened last summer in Milan, played twice in a row. Because, you know, the title is an Italian word
this is like a mixture of modern vampires, contra and vampire weekend.
brilliant to say the least
Imagine that....😔😔
Cape Cod Kwaza (or however it's spelled) + Holiday + Diane Young
this album brought me back from the dead
Mood 😁

I've been listening to it almost every day. It's criminal how the best song on the album is so damn short
The production is incredible
@@MagnumTropius I totally agree!! Iam already addicted to this song ;-)!
maybe if it were shorter it wouldn't be as good
Indeed, and we wouldn't long to hear it over and over again ;-)!
I wish every song on the album was 58 minutes.
58th like
The album would've been released by 2069!

@@redskeletonart238 10 months late, but Hannah Hunt is one of the most loved by the fanbase and I wouldn't call it short
Totally worth the 6 year wait. This whole album SLAPS!
Bambina SLAPS How Long SLAPS Spring Snow SLAPS This Life SLAPS Harmony Hall SLAPS EVERYTHING SLAPS
yeah man, this song is the slap
Brasileira? 😶

Holy shit its my birthday that day
We love a Pisces queen
“Like a foreign car though we are American made”
Is there a lyric that more closely describes Vampire Weekend? I think not.
I was at the concert in Milan yesterday, and let me tell you, that "ciao ciao bambina" was the loudest I've ever heard a crowd scream a t a concert lol.
they even sang it twice in a row! It was amazing!
So even they know the song is half the length it should be.
Perfect pronounce, perfect song.
-A fan from Italy
Per imparare la pronuncia perfetta dovrebbe incominciare ad aggiungere al tour date italiane.......

The best song of the album.
Best song on the album, but too short.
Agreed. Definitely the best track. Insane it’s so short.

I actually really like the short "snippets" of songs. They're so replayable

Unless... he's preparing a 6 minute version, who knows?
You can repeat the song till you get tired
Or just the play the original by Couperin from 300 years ago. ua-cam.com/video/DzoFKG7ITRg/v-deo.html
Also he’s too damn attractive he needs to cut it the f out
One of the better songs on the album. Needs to be longer ugh
'Uuuuuuuh to an extent, yeah' This one reminds me of the production on some tracks from Fleetwood Mac's 'Tusk'...luckily I LOVE that album, and I LOVE this one!
I REALLY wanted the 2nd verse to say "when the engines come they always go vroom vroom"
And then the rest of the song is just musical car noises 😂
No time to discuss it
Can't speak when the waves reach our house upon the dunes
Time cannot be trusted
When the police come, they always come too soon
Life felt like heaven today
Like a foreign car, though, we are American-made
I thought I'd probably stay
But before I know it, I know it
[Chorus]
My Christian heart cannot withstand
The thundering arena
I'll see you when the violence ends
For now, ciao ciao, Bambina
[Verse 2]
No signs of injustice
No signs, but the flames that are filling up the room
Fire cannot be trusted
When the engines come, they always come too soon
[Chorus]
My Christian heart cannot withstand
The thundering arena
I'll see you when the violence ends
For now, ciao ciao, Bambina
My Christian heart cannot withstand
The thundering arena
I'll see you when the violence ends
For now, ciao ciao, Bambina
dahm, you won me
Uhhhhhhhmmmm? To an extent, yeah.
Am I the only one who heard time to get up and trust it instead of time cannot be trusted?
Thanks Garfield
you forgot uh to an extent yeah
I so desperately wish that 2nd verse didn't abruptly cut off like that. the rhythm and beat of that flow is SO GOOD.
Man, he had at it on the second verse. Replay
I can't remember the last time I felt proud of being Italian

This was the banger of the album
Why does this song give me nostalgia?
the world would be a better place if this masterpiece was 6 minutes long
They opened with this one in Dallas, and now I’m in love with all their music
Such a bop
I LOVE BAMBIIINAAA
This band proves that a song is beautiful in its rhythm & sound, not in its lyrics
Wth is that supposed to mean?

Totally hits my soul at the 1:00 mark.
Best song on the album.
Glad he can still make this kind of song!
This song hit the vibe when I was in 5th grade working on Google slides or playing games with the bois on fun fridays
Congrats on winning Best Alternative Music Album at the GRAMMYS, Vampire Weekend!
what a fantastic song!! So genius, so great! Puts me in a fantastic mood

We all demand an extended versión of this song.
Gives me goosebumps every time.
This is the one!!

I'm amazed!!!! Such talent!!!!!!
I LOVE THIS SONG THANK THE HEAVENS VW IS BACK!🌎❤️
YOOOOO WHY DOES THIS SLAP SO HARD
I AM SO READYYY
Reminds me of "Know your onion" by The Shins
It’s very similar to them
This sounds like a song that would be used in a Wes Anderson film! Anyway, loving the album ❤️
Júlia Marsellés my thoughts exactly !! 60s touch
Totally agree, amazing Wes anderson vibes- way to put it into words perfectly
I never knew how much I NEED vampire weekend and Wes Anderson together until this very moment and now I feel my life will never be complete until I experience this combination
MAKE A LONGER VERSION!!!!!
This is the best song on the album
This might be my favorite.
This is too good to be such a short song!!
my favorite!!!!
I loveeeee how they did the police siren in the first verse.
This is one of my top 3 songs from the album x)
Heh, when I was listening to this in the car and the siren went off, I startled and checked my rearview mirror...
Sounds like Les Barricades Mystérieuses 😃
That's bcs it is lol
What a bop!!!
Playing this on repeat
This is good stuff 👍
this song auto plays in my head since the album came out.
Best song ever
Vampire Weekend had the right idea releasing this before the start of the new decade. This kicks in 2020!
When your fav song from the album is also the shortest... omg :')
I love you so muchhhhhhh!!!!
Best song ever recorded
Why only 1 minute and no 2 hours
I get a very big “Cecilia” vibe from this. Amazing
Best one for me :D
Dang such a great song I listen to it all day its 12:00 right now and I'm still watching it
Best song
I can't belive

they played it twice at that gig they had near milan last year and i still feel like wipin if i think about it i miss live gigs so much
I was not feeling this new album, and then I was hit with this one minute and fourty four second masterpiece
good music 🎵🎶❤️
Here before you go big
Why is this song so cute
Wish y'all were playing like 2 days later in Seattle and I 100% would have gotten to go.
catchy af
so good yet so short ):
No one wants this song to end!!!
There is a touch of François Couperin's "Les Barricades Mystérieuses"! Nice work!
More than a touch, but it's lovely.
I need 4 minutes of this...
103 seconds of music on fire
Got an instant John Frusciante solo vibe from the verses and guitar work on this. One of the best on the album, why so short!?
Preciosa cancion❤
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH NICE
Obsessed with that Buckingham-esque guitar riff at 0:19
Favorite song on FOTB...
Feels like a really good Contra b-side
Nice, like the old stuff, but better
Q perfeita..

This has some Cat Stevens guitar vibes going
❤
Ojalá durará 3 minutos, cause' it isn't enough for me :'(
this song came on in my youtube mix and i thought it was an ad before i looked at the screen
Sounds like a mix of Contra and Modern Vampires of the City
Drinkin roners on the beach : )
how am i this late for this???!!
