    Great content. I love the way you presented this video. All the best for the new born, you won't know yourself, life is life. So I'm new to your channel, - love it. Also new to trying this, looks like fun, obviously if you be careful. I'm a electrician in Australia, so I'm able to get a lot off this product and materials. I'm starting to accumulate and these videos are invaluable to me. Keep up yhe great work!!!!

    For silver testing. I use a small test tube and add a pinch of salt to a pipette full of liquid (about 2-3 ml). Silver chloride is a white powder that only changes color when exposed to UV. Undissolved sodium chloride will take on the color of whatever liquid its in. That's how I tell the difference when I add too much salt

      Ok perfect. I have a couple extra test tubes. I just need another stand now lol

    As a general remark I think the sound level on your videos is a lot better now! Only the five minute clip of you talking to the camera at the end of this video was a lot quieter than the rest. It's still audible but I had to turn up the volume a lot.

    • @SilverStoll
      @SilverStoll  Рік тому +1

      Thank you and good to hear lol pun intended. I'm currently looking into mics. I have to save the video and redo it with the volume at 200%!

    That salt problem is exactly the kind of thing I meant when we discussed the SMB a while ago, only the table salt isn't as soluble as SMB. The solution to your problem would be to dissolve the table salt in water first (possibly filter it to be sure). That way you can add a clear liquid to your silver solution and you can be sure any solids in suspension were precipitated.

    • @SilverStoll
      @SilverStoll  Рік тому

      I wonder if it's worth desolving a big batch to keep on hand pre filtered, ready to roll?

    • @Alrik.
      @Alrik. Рік тому +1

      @SilverStoll yes I think so. As long as the it isn't exposed to big changes in temperature etc the salt shouldn't come out of solution.

    Heck yeah bro. On that silver test, if you have boiled the nitrate to syrup, dilute it with distilled water a bit like 1:1 before hitting it with salt or hcl. And congratulations on the future midget.

    I'm digging the purple fingers bud. Silver nitrate stains have a life expectancy of 30 days... Ask me how I know??? L0L
    All my nitric acid boil solutions are brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of 30mins.
    Yes, separate ice tray in your family fridge is fine.
    The fact that you're tinkering around with so many different experimental techniques. Do me a favor. Fill one of your empty distilled water with tap water and add baking soda. Label it Neutralizer. If you ever feel burning on your skin. That will help limit the skin burn damage. You made it home alive from work. Let's not blow ourselves up at home... LMAO.
    When I've done small amounts of gold. I pour it all into a glass funnel filter and allow it to gravity filter. When it's done filtering. I'll fill it with hydrochloric acid. Drain and then a few distilled water rinse. Then straight to the melt dish. If I'm doing a karat scrap batch. I'll simmer the gold in hydrochloric for a minute. Pour off and then a few distilled water simmers.
    Thanks for my daily video dose of SliverStroll. Cool stuff bud.
    Cherish the free time you have now bro. Because after your wife gives birth. 3 days later you get to bring that precious little baby home without instructions. Half of your time will be spent running around. Is he/she breathing, is he/she breathing, is he/she breathing... L0L. I was a wreck and I had a perfectly healthy little girl. Zero health issues but still. Freaking nerve wreaking.
    You'll have lots of good times until they break your by saying. You can no longer take them trick or treating. Their going with their friends. That's the moment you'll realize. It's time to allow them to be their own person. With their own identity...
    I'm giving you more then refining advice. I'm sharing life experiences not to be taking with a grain of salt. You're going to be a wonderful dad Cody. I can tell by our personal interactions. That's why I'm still here following along. It's all good stuff.
    Peace out. The knowledge bill will be in the mail... L0L. Chow...

    Great video bud. My only suggestion is when you test for silver, get a larger amount of solution. Atleast 1/4 of the beaker

      @SilverStoll grrrr. I think sreetips is a tool.
      He has no idea about refining ewaste. He's only good at refining jewlery.
      And im sick to death of seeing his silver cell. He shows it in every video, even when they're not related to silver.
      And I hate the way he thinks the youtube platform to promote his ebay site.
      Thats why I call him the ebay refiner

      I was rethinking that as well. They make little ice makers for 50$ I'll keep it down stairs.
