I mean, I used him in this map because I figured he'd have unique dialogue with Lumera. It helps that I made sure all my units were max level for the last couple of missions.
The in-combat dialogue in this game is so much stronger in general than the cutscenes, IMO. It's simplistic presentation of a textbox in the pre-fight animations actually helps it here, and the voice acting just carries it.
It also lets the "primed" idle animations shine. It was in fates too where they stood before their charges and preambled via text boxes. Even the camera was perfect for the confrontation.
Engage's writing can be wonky, but I think this was done actually really well. The conversation with Veyle especially, where she pours out her jealousy, is great.
