Just realized that for the two years since I took in my cat, he has never made a mess, knocked anything over, or done anything to make me mad. He’s like straight out of gentlemen school
All of our cats were strays raised by now late dog,he literally saw 2 od them under a car walked over, picked them up and brought then home. Raised them like kids and even disciplined them. They all behaved well. We just got a kitten and she's been a psycho path. The older cats look at her if she's a psycho. We now realize we didn't raise the cats but he did. We went from having behaved spoil cats to an adorable psycho
One of my cats is a psycho with my parents, but a sweetheart with me and my other cat. My other cat is a psycho towards cat #1, but a sweetheart towards everyone else (even the dog). Both of them are black and white, which makes it funnier when I explain this to guests 😂
I usually sigh "Could you PLEASE NOT do that!" They usually awkwardly leave the area unless it's Gwen she runs away internally giggling that she got a rise out of me.
if you sigh (or make a huffing noise), then it's the sigh they're taking notice off, not necessarily the words, they might associate the words now with the sigh and understand both mean the same thing, but initially the sigh is the noise they understand.
@@owieprone My cat understands what "Stop" means now because I use to accompany it with sound I would make with my tongue. I was dog sitting a Yorkie. My cat hissed so often at him, the yorkie started mimicking the hisses back to the cat trying to get him to like him and to play. It was adorable.
As a person who grew up with cats more than I grew up with people, I learned hisses before I actually learned vocal language. The last one isn't so much "I'll kill you if you don't stop" as, "Hey I'm actually really frigging serious, STOP dude" or "That really fcking hurt, so back off or I'm going to give you the same." I hiss pretty automatically and this one is solely reserved in my automatic brain for "you seriously gouged me with your claws and need to leave or I'm going to scream in pain which you do not like because loud noises bad, so stop putting your claws in me immediately before I yell (not at the cat, in pain.)"
@@alsoabacon609 I was raised in a neglectful situation where I didn't learn human language until I was 6-7 and rarely heard it/had contact with humans a lot less than I had with animals.
When my cat gets really excited she sometimes will bite me and on the rare occasion it has been quite hard( drawing blood and bruising) I automatically would do a quick hiss at her and she would let go. Then she would look at me and my arm, then look a little confused and as if she had woken up from a trance( looking around and at me repeatedly) and then just put her head down close to me as if to apologise. She is sweet but she does have her moments 😂😂😂😂 I would never do anything to injure her physically or even shout at her. She is my little baby😊

Is it play aggression? If so, totally common. There are ways of training that to become less frequent. My cat was born feral and we found her abandoned by her mama when she was 3 weeks old - we had to become the mama and part of her upbringing is her mom teaching her when play biting goes too far. She is totally play-forward motivated, so I usually tire her ot by tossing her toys around and I will try and read her level of PA - I always try to see if she follows my hand as to sniff it or not. If she tracks the hand, she will want to sniff it first, then I will pull away and play or if she's calm enough, I'll pet her. Over time, she has gotten used to it and knows she will get more cookies afterwards and a bond sesh
The bites are an expression of how much your cat loves you. She just doesn´t know that your skin is not as sturdy as that of other cats. But she loves you and that´s the point.
Your cat probably thinks you're a big dumb cat. I mean, how many times has your cat seen you catch a mouse? Probably zero. They leave us gifts because they think we're too stupid to hunt.

@@cttcjim5353 I would tend to agree. There may be general trends of how cats use hissing, growling, etc, but I highly doubt it's as precise as this video makes it out to be. If they attack you, you should not be hitting them back. The correct response if they are attacking you is either: 1) ignore them, 2) deflect their attention, or 3) back off as soon as you see warning signs, even if you want to play with the cat.
Never hit a cat. They may seem tough, but their bones are tiny and snappable and you are fucking humongous compared to them. They will fear and hate you if you hit them, and it will not improve their behavior. It will probably just make them run away the first chance they get and then what? They get eaten by a predator or hit by a car. Raise your cat so that they WANT to be around you.
this works with my kitten. she’s an angel but bites VERY hard when playing. give her a short little hiss and she immediately resolves to gentle nibbles
I'm not sure how it develops, but from big cats to canines, holding their big tooths is supposedly a sign of affection They're just trying to show they care - like a human baby they don't understand force - shouldn't be discouraged because they think their affection isn't welcome
@@PJOZeusbut they don't think it isn't welcome? Lol. They only make the hiss when it starts to hurt. So thry stop making it hurt. My cats hiss at each other for rough kisses all the time.
I usually raise my voice at her in Spanish and she knows damn well what i mean and she’ll listen to me so quick 😂 i raised a Mexican kitty 😂👌🏻 now shes the perfect angel
So..,I’ve been making all three of these sounds for my entire teaching career. Turns out, teens get the general gist. Cats are, indeed, the universal language
I was the same with my dog. He did a few things like dig up the dirt of my moms indoor plants then bury something in it. When she found him in the process of re-burying it. He looked up with this gleeful look and wagging his tail."mission accomplished, mom". Another 1 was he wasnt allowed up stairs in the living.(a 4 step divide from floor to floor, then an upstairs where the bedrooms are) so we had a baby gate at the bottom of the 4 steps. He would jump over it. When we weren't looking. And couldnt get back over. Then we put the gate at the top, samething. This time he was able to jump back over. We raised the gate just high enough so he couldnt fit under it, he managed to take the gate off by force from crawling under it. Mom said fck it, hes getting in when we're not looking. But eventually with training he learned when and when not to do things.
Basically, hiss at your cat when they are doing something that you are dissatisfied of, because that is how cats actually communicate, but stay gentle and never hit your cat ❤ 🐈
Dont use it too often actually! Only as a last resort, if your cat makes small mistakes here and there just use a louder tone of voice each time so it understands not to do that thing again, but hissing only when they keep doing something really bad over and over and nothing works to stop them
Cat: *Smashes glass and then immediately rubs against your leg for strokes* You: *Hiss* Cat: "Oh, so they don't like affection, got it. No more of that, ever again! I gotchu!"
If you look at cat behavior, they don't hiss at each other unless it is territorial. They bite a little to say, "Stop." If you gently bite them on the back of the neck or fake it with your face at the back of their head. They understand it. At least it works with my cat. When he gets the rumble in his tummy that only hands will satisfy, the only way he will stop is if I put my head on him and pinch his scruff. He will immediately stop and lay down on my leg after giving me some head bumps.
Years ago my cat was being harassed by neighbours cat (farm, so the neighbour cat was at least half a km off its turf). I stepped in front of my cat and hissed in my best 'pissed off cat' impression. Neighbour cat sprinted away in abject terror, and my cat had never been more affectionate. She very clearly knew I'd defended her.

Me: hisses at cat
Cat: understandable have a nice day
The cats are so cute
Consider u a big silly cat
That had me rolling
“big silly cat” THATS ADORABLE 😭
Literally, they can look at me as a big silly cat all they want🥺
this works with my kitten. she’s an angel but bites VERY hard when playing. give her a short little hiss and she immediately resolves to gentle nibbles
Its literally just a bite of love, dont gotta hiss-
@@IMadeOneForfunWvW Fun Facts you didn't know: Cats have these things called teeth and cause something called pain.
Maybe she needs a kitten sibling
I'm not sure how it develops, but from big cats to canines, holding their big tooths is supposedly a sign of affection
They're just trying to show they care - like a human baby they don't understand force - shouldn't be discouraged because they think their affection isn't welcome
@@PJOZeusbut they don't think it isn't welcome? Lol. They only make the hiss when it starts to hurt. So thry stop making it hurt. My cats hiss at each other for rough kisses all the time.
"KE!"
"THEIR FIRST WORD!"
I usually raise my voice at her in Spanish and she knows damn well what i mean and she’ll listen to me so quick 😂 i raised a Mexican kitty 😂👌🏻 now shes the perfect angel
They can sorta understand you once you've known them a while, they're smart like that.
Same 😂
Bahaha that’s the way to do it maybe I should try that with my Italian 🤨 hahaha
⁶⁷TY ft Dr see see we will 2
everybody knows cats speak spanish. 😂😂😂 dog speak chinese and goldfish speak turkish. they just dont wanna pay taxes
So..,I’ve been making all three of these sounds for my entire teaching career. Turns out, teens get the general gist. Cats are, indeed, the universal language
Or teenagers are just over grown cats.... I can see that
@@gothic_ace2037Lazy, hairy, occasionally extremely horny, checks all the boxes

but how can I be mad at them when they're so adorable.
My hunting rifle: 🗿
But eventually with training he learned when and when not to do things.
wait til they shit on the carpet, suddenly they're not so cute anymore 😂
if one of your cats shits on the carpet then that's a skill issue of yours.@@Mr.__Sofi
@@Mr.__Sofi you need for that a cat toilet. My sister's cat was using it since she was a baby. Never left a pee-pee or poo-poo anywhere else. 😉
Basically, hiss at your cat when they are doing something that you are dissatisfied of, because that is how cats actually communicate, but stay gentle and never hit your cat ❤ 🐈
Dont use it too often actually! Only as a last resort, if your cat makes small mistakes here and there just use a louder tone of voice each time so it understands not to do that thing again, but hissing only when they keep doing something really bad over and over and nothing works to stop them
If it ever worked 😢
these cat ladies get crazier by the minute lmao now they imitate "cat language" I'm laughing so hard it's so ridiculous
“SI” and “KE” combine together…. “SIKE!!!”
“Why does he wanna file a case against my fur to the hospital?”
Cat: *Smashes glass and then immediately rubs against your leg for strokes*
You: *Hiss*
Cat: "Oh, so they don't like affection, got it.
😂😂 Yup
@@FPSG I see that Llamas in Hats reference, and appreciate it.
@@FPSGCAAAARRLLLLL You can't keep feeding kittens to the meat dragon!
@@FPSG Worked for several of my cats. Never had to do it more than twice to stop a cats bad behavior. At least when I'm around.
I sometimes use that third one. They mostly listen on just "no" but sometimes they don't, then hissing at them works like a magic.
My cat takes it as a challenge >_>
Grab your cat by the scruff and stare into their eyes until they get the point.
OMG! The Cat language 😂😂
Awwwww❤❤
In other words hissing at your cat is basically what she’s saying
Even cats knows that communication is the key for healthy relationships. 👍👍🐱
Cats are clearly chinese.
"Why on earth is my servant cleaning the floor with MY fur " 👿
Most of the time it's me having to apologize to my cat 😂
“when you’re mad at a cat…”
mad, how?? just *look* at those adorable faces! ❤🐈
