    So you tell me that there is no drought each summer due to the dry weather, year in and year out? That there are no wildfires risk every summer?

    • @NoraLovesBendHomes
      @NoraLovesBendHomes  3 роки тому

      I don't think I said those things??? All of the Western US is and has been in drought condition for a long time. Yes, there are wildfires every year, some worse than others. What's your point? There's no "perfect" place on earth, so you have to choose what's most important to you. I love living in Bend despite drought and wildfires. Would you rather live where there are hurricanes, tornados, floods? Your choice!

    I’ve been living in Bend for 12/13 years of my life and I’ve seen how beautiful it is. I’ve hiked up Pilot Butte, walked everywhere downtown and explored the outskirts of Bend. I will also say that since my family was in low class, my mother had to work 3 jobs until we had to move to New Mexico. A nice place to raise a family, retirement or just living safely as long as you can afford houses there. It’s worth the price in the long run.

    Bend is destroyed. High suicide rate. Poverty rate equal to some countries in se Asia. Homeless population exploding. Central Oregon is in the middle of a severe drought...this winter and last had combined 17 inches of snow. The summers are smokey and dusty. The three sisters wilderness is afoul with trash and polluted with human and canine feces. This town grew so fast it has become a town of relative strangers. Deschutes county was rated as the 3rd worse (Pew Research) in the country in 2018 for hemorrhaging middle class families. Sadly people now in Bend judge you for what you have not who you are.

    • @NoraLovesBendHomes

      I appreciate your opinion, but if you think it's so bad....why do you stay? Bend, like every other small town that grows quickly,, has its problems, but it's still a great place to live.

      @@NoraLovesBendHomes This is my home town and have lived in central Oregon for more than 50 years and cannot stand to even to drive through Bend and have chosen to live in Klamath county away from people like you. Most of my family have moved away as well because of what it has become and also some simply cannot afford to live there any more. We have many loved ones in the graveyard here and the churches have many memories of baptism's, marriages and funerals. Our roots run deep here but you probably have no idea what that means. What part of California did you say your from? As soon as people like you move away we may consider moving back. Now Bend reminds me of sadness and loss. I guarantee our family and friends feel the same way...Bend has lost its soul. Our extended family and friends have sadly far too many young people take their own lives in the area so the suicide problem hits very close to home. So enjoy Sunny Beautiful Bend Oregon...where dreams come true!

    You are full of it! Winter lasts between 6 and 9 months the temperature charts that you put on your video or so far off. It's ridiculous. Be prepared. It is below 0 much of winter in Bend. The roads are typically not plowed and you will be driving on inches thick ice for the entire winter. Locals hate newcomers and for good reason. The rate of growth in bend over the last few years has an average of 9 people per day. Good luck finding a place to live. Rentals are virtually non-existent. Once you get on a waitlist, you'll be waiting for months. The roads are so congested now. It's unbelievable. Bend is not built to handle this rate of growth. All of you putting up these videos about how lovely Bend is is true Bend is a lovely place. Its main industry is truism. But Over the last several years. It's been inundated with people moving their wanting to change everything.
    Also All of you newcomers coming there and trying to encourage others to come so you can make your buck off of them neglect to mention the rate of homelessness how many thousands of people are living in homeless camps standing on street corners begging for money. You leave out the facts about the crime rate growing at an exponential rate, the high rate of opiate addiction heroin and oxycontin addiction Is absolutely out of control. Methamphetamine also is a huge problem. And not one of you people not one of you bothered to mention the serious issues with public education, and lack of childcare for working families. Nor do you inform people that they will pay the highest rate in the entire state of Oregon for child care in Bend. The regional market rate for infant care (if you can find it)Begins at $1,200 per month And goes up from there. Not one of you mentioned that Bend Oregon has the highest rate of teenage suicide in the entire country. Shame on all of you. Bend is being ruined at an exponential rate. I find the level of dishonesty In the picture that all of y'all are painting about Bend Absolutely despicable!
    Out right lies
    AND btw... Where on Earth are you getting your information about dining in Bend? There are more five star Exquisite restaurants in Bend than anywhere else in Oregon. It's the tourism industry that drives the food industry. Lady you are so far off. It's hysterical.

    • @NoraLovesBendHomes
      @NoraLovesBendHomes  4 роки тому +2

      Well, I disagree with a few things you said. It does get around zero once in awhile but that's not the normal Winter day time temp. They do plow the roads. You do need to have winter snow tires and AWD for safety. Agree about rentals they're hard to find and expensive. But compared to other places....our "traffic" is NOTHING! And...Bend is still a great place to live. At least...that's my opinion :-)

    Turn Bend into California, I moved to Bend in 1985 from idaho. Bend was a perfect town, 20,000. Now 180,000 on the city, traffic jams, the streets were built for 20,000. The real estate people are screwing it up like California. And all the California people are moving here, soon Bend will be 200,000. There is no place to rent! Real Estate will sell there mothers!

    • @NoraLovesBendHomes
      @NoraLovesBendHomes  4 роки тому

      Guess it might be time for you to leave then? Bend is still a great place to live and last time I checked it's still a free country were people can move anywhere they want. @@NoraLovesBendHomes yes it is a free country so I will say what I want! How about some homes for the poorer people that serve the rich.
