I tried this once it didn’t cut very well for me but it did work it was better than a really dull chain.

I’ve done that once before, putting the chain on backwards 😂 you do feel a fool when you realise what you have done.

Well, it is better than sharpening by hand with a file, but still far from optimal with the special sharpening tool. I bought mine really cheap years ago.
