When you have a need there's almost always someone to supply a solution.. That peeler is quite the solution. Thanks.
Yes it's very clever and quite simple and it really works.
Well done. Have not seeing Angel for many months, my how she has has matured and still stays close to her everything that is her best friend. Back on board still love your channel. Keep them coming. merci..
Thank you Georgette. I don't know what I would do without Angel.
That quail egg peeler is cool!
It is a very slick little machine
Ingenious! I'll have to check into getting one of those myself. I have such a difficult time peeling quail eggs that I've all but completely given up hard boiling them anymore. Cheers!
It is ingenious and when you look at it a very simple device that really work.
Hi Dale, a little thing about the tubing: The material used is latex and needs to be kept clean or it will slip on the shells. One trick to keep your dog`s fur in shape, too: many chemical resistant gloves are made of the same stuff and you can use them to remove the hair from your dog when he sheds. Again, you need to keep them clean or they will not grab the loose hair well.
Yes I discovered that so I stop every few minute and dry it with a paper towel. I love Angel to bits and when I first got her for several months she didn't hardly shed hair but the sure has changed, I think I need to brush her more often.
Well my heaven Dale - a Quails Shelling machine Peeler. You've got everything. Merry Chrismas Dale
LOL Love my toys Patrick.
No modern kitchen is complete without one of these! LOL
the tubing reminds me of the tubing from a slingshot.
I hope Santa brings you one. LOL I hadn't thought of the slingshot tubing.
That's pretty cool i say. Those eggs are so small and hard to peel as i have seen. Thanks.
Yes they are very hard to peel
Hi Dale. What a nifty little gadget. Hope you and Angel have a great Christmas :)
Thank you Karilyn I hope you have a very Happy Christmas too.
Clever device. The tubing is surgical tubing, and comes in a variety of diameters. It's used for a number of things, from exercise bands, fishing lures, slingshot bands, and of course, for medical applications. It's readily available.
It is so simple but works very well.
Handy gadget Dale ,that should save you some time and bother. You and Angel have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.
Thank you Kevin I hope you have a great Christmas and a happy New Year.
That's a neat quail egg peeling machine! I'm wondering if the eggs are ripping because they're new eggs similar to doing full size hard boiled. Never works out clean when they're fresh from the nest box. Thanks for sharing!
I know what you mean about fresh eggs very hard to peel but I think the issue here was the eggs being to hot they were all fresh but peeled better as they cooled off.
The other day some friends of mine got talking about Quail eggs. Some raise Quail on their farm here in Maine. I am trying to find your video that you did in the Cabin opening Quail eggs. Would you please send me a link to that video? Thanks so very much.
Sorry Toni there are over50 cabin videos I just went through the list and none of them mention eggs in the title.
Very interesting, I have used Alabba before without issue but like you said most things you have to buy a lot, you can't buy just one. It is a very popular thing in China, you can even order live Canadian lobster.
I think I heard about the lobster on the news once. Likely caught right around here. I'm always a bit worried about using a credit card on line and so far away unfortunately they don't accept PayPal. As near as I could tell when I was placing the order the credit card went through a bank in Singapore anyway I was very impressed I got better and faster service than you get from a lot of companies over here.
I found the sheller on E-Bay from China, $100 AUS, and I thing $22 for shipping. Seems expensive for something so simple, The commercial one is nearly $1500 dollars though. Canadian lobster and snow crab is very big in China right now and it has really helped with the price of lobster.
www.alibaba.com/product-detail/live-canadian-lobster_50033208801.html minimum order 100kg.
I would like to have a 100KG's or just 1....lol
Get the credit card out LOL.
Cool idea! You always have interesting videos.
Thank you.
Wonder how it would work if you used it after dissolving the hard shell
Not sure give it a try I guess I no longer have quails.
@@DaleCalderCampobello may have to order one and give it a try.
Well how cool is that!!! I haven't seen anything like this before. Do you think this would work on Bob White quail eggs?
I don't have any bob white eggs to try on it but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
Happy Holidays to you and the puppy, they are always puppies.
Thank you Paul and good wishes for you too I agree she is a great pup.
Hi Dale, have you ever tried to put the machine under a bit of running water? Other videos for other machines show it with running water, so it might make it easier!
No I never tried that I suspect you are right that would be better.
@@DaleCalderCampobello I hope it helps! I'm thinking of buying one for myself. I have a lot of quails, and I would love to easily pickle the eggs!
Anyway, thank you for posting this. I had no idea machines like this existed before I watched your video.
Glad to see a new video, Mr. C. :)
Thank you.
Interesting gadget. Best wishes Bob.
Thank you Bob.
Hi Dale, nifty machine , tubing looks like food grade or medical grade silicone tubing, Have a great Christmas and thanks for the videos
Thank you Allan and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas too.
Ingenious! Wow !!! Everyone needs one! Does it work for regular chicken eggs
No just quail eggs
Dale Calder thank you
that looked fun to do :) I don't have these types of eggs but will check the website out all the same :) do you think this will work with chicken eggs too ? thanks for sharing
It is amazing how simple it is and yet how well it works. No chicken eggs won't fit down inside of it. They likely make one for larger eggs though.
Do quil eggs taste like chicken eggs....Neat machine....Thanks for sharing dale....Hope you Have a Merry Christmas.
Thank you Cathy I don't notice any difference in the flavour but there are all sorts of health claims out there from eating Quail eggs, google it.
Ah rubber tube;-) Off to the chemists and then the work shop lol. Are both tubes turning when you wind it or just one? if both do they rotate in the same direction? I think it may be more efficient if you were to run a little water over when peeling. I will try to make one to do chicken and Quail eggs if i can. got to say that good ;-) going to save some time.Just watched again on a bigger screen the rollers are just touching.
Southpaw Davey Hi Dave, can you do one in red to match my kitchen :)
LOL. Dale knows you very well mate.
its my northern blood if i can make one i wont buy one not always cheaper though lol
I can do any colour as long as its black or whats in the work shop lol
Yes they both turn because they touch each other and the friction makes them turn together one clockwise and one counter clockwise. I will take some photos close up and send them to your gmail account. Water might be an improvement I would need to devise something that fits down inside the sink to attach it to. Once I got the hang of it though I was very impressed at how simple it is and at how well it works.
How do ling would it take to soft boil quail eggs
No idea.
This makes me have to ask questions Ok? I decided on quale as the bird I want to raise, and have learned how to care for them, and what I need. However I never thought to ask if there is anything unusual that I need to know. Is it harder to peel their eggs? and is that the reason for the machine? I plan on having the coop up this spring, and I also have all the materials I need to raise them, so if there is anything you could suggest, before the time comes to actually buy them, I would be most thankful if you could share that information with me when you have time. I'm going to go back over your videos about them, to take notes. Any additional information for my journal on the quail, would be wonderful. Bless, Sheila
The eggs are harder to peel Sheila - not hugely hard if you know how. Under the shell, there is a membrane that is a little tough but quite thin. When raw, Dale uses a cigar cutter to slice the top off which is quick and effective. I just use a very sharp knife and cut 2/3rds of the way through and open it up like a lid. When boiled, this machine looks like it uses the membrane to peel the egg shell away which is really clever. The other difference is that quails do not sit on their own eggs. If you want to breed them, you will need an incubator.
They are great little egg layers Sheila but they haven't made it easy for us to get at the egg. The little scissor things that I use make it easy to crack a raw egg and this little thing makes it easy to shell a hard boiled egg so problems solve so to speak. They are easy little guys to raise but after you have had a look around youTube at the many videos on quail if you have any questions I will be pleased to try and answer them.
McDowall Manor Great information, and yes, I already have the incubator too. Thank you for the comment. Bless, Sheila
***** Yes indeed, I have started to watch a couple people that I had learned from again, and now that I have a lot of information in my journal, I feel a lot safer about knowing what I'm doing. I seem to do better when I have something in writing, and I also save videos that I think will help, write everything down, and then delete them, so it's coming along. I just wanted to make sure I understood the eggs, I had never heard anyone mention that they are a little harder to shell before, so I thought I would ask about that. Right now I'm just thrilled that I finally decided on the quail. It took me forever to make up my mind. Thank you for the information, and now I can look forward to them and not worry so much. Bless, Sheila
They really are a wonderful little bird
Put the eggs in a jar attach lid and shake. Easy peel.
No that won't work with fresh quail eggs.
Could you measure the surgical tubing diameter for me and the diameter of the spinning rods?
Seth Kaiser Let me know how it comes out when you finish making it.
that is neat
It is very clever.
Would your new gadget work on chicken eggs as well? I have arthritis in my hands and peel things is a challenge at times.
Sorry Lynn but this one won't work on chicken eggs they are too large for it. I went to the website to see if they offer one and they have several models but they are all large commercial units.
thank you for your thoughtfulness.
I believe that is older style oxygen tubing.
Yes I think it is something medical too.
Does it use silicone tube ?
Now sure it could be silicone
Do quail eggs have a lighter flavor than chicken ?
Very similar.
I like quail eggs only have them in posh restaurants here in the USA 🇺🇸
What is the diameter of two plastic pipes?
About 1 cm.
thank you . I'm looking for it
I want one. Where can l buy it?
www.alibaba.com/showroom/manual-quail-egg-peeling-machine.html
Thank you very much, bro.
Looks like slingshot rubber
Yes I think it is the same thing.
You have probably already found the best way to use your new tool to peel quail eggs. But if not, check out this video made by a local from where your tool was made:

Makes a lot of sense once you see it in action.
Thank you that was very interesting.
