#GeorgeCarlin #Comedy - Розваги
Carlin isn't starting anything, all he's doing is calling out humanities BS and that's clearly on us....I'll be damned if we don't need it lol
if you go into a George Carlin show with the expectation of him holding up a mirror to the American people and saying "look at yourself", it just becomes so incredibly real. personally I think anyone that's offended by George Carlin is probably the person that needs to hear what he has to say.
@@intuitionz1198 well said!! You are absolutely right!
If Socrates tried comedy, Carlin would be his hero. 🤘
I think Diogenes would be someone that george would like. In fact, I think George kind of acted like Diogenes lmao
@@WaryJester LOL 👍
"You can't talk about Jesus like that."
HE could because he wasn't a deranged member of a terrorist's blood cult.
Man I grew up in the 80s listening to Carlin. Back when most kids would sneak into the living room after hours to watch scrambled porn, I was sneaking off to watch this guy. George Carlin provided me with 2 great things: a love of language and critical thinking skills. I honestly think everyone should see his comedy.
I wish George Carlin was still alive. I know he would be pretty old by now but I would've love to hear his thought on 2020 and now.
I love this reaction. There is nothing that he said that isn't true - but it can be a difficult pill to swallow.
Carlin was an Atheist with an unfathomable intelligence for satirical observation. It's not intended to offend, simply to reframe.
"It's not intended to offend, simply to reframe" - Well put.
George Denis Patrick Carlin - he was so good he had two middle names.
you mean three first names
@@wallstreetmemeers first names after the first name turned into middle names before last name lol
@@wallstreetmemeers tomato to-mato
Kiefer Sutherland must be the best of all- Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland.
He was raised Catholic so Patrick was his Confirmation name.
He’s absolutely brilliant and often times funny but always thought provoking ... the most of all time
Watching your big smile & laugh is almost as fun as watching George. I just love to see people truly "get" his humor.
His comedy will go on forever.
Love your reaction videos and all of your observations. I discovered Carlin through the book “Brain Droppings” around 1995. It was my dad’s book. I laughed out loud page-after-page. After reading that book I was convinced that George Carlin is a wise celestial being that had seen through the smoke, then woke, and resolved to light our minds on fire through comedy. Maybe that’s extreme... but the man had a gift fir spitting razor sharp truth. Thanks for sharing these.
Loved his books!
George Carlin tests where the lines are by crossing them, then pulls you unwillingly to the other side with him, and makes you glad that he did.
From what I have gathered from him over the years is that he was an agnostic. He believed in the idea of a higher intelligence that is beyond our understanding, it is organized religion he is specifically against. It is created by man & therefore has all the imperfections & inconsistencies of humankind.
No there’s a bit where Carlin calls agnostics “wishy washy fucks”. He was atheist.
The thing is agnostic is not a stance on whether there is a god or not. It is simply the conviction that the existence of something like god is unknowable and unprovable. You can be an agnostic theist or an agnostic atheist.
George was an atheist. Makes him no less right, about the issues he spoke on though. I've always been a fan. Even before I really understood all he was talking about.
False, Carlin was an Agnostic.
@@thearbyter7953 He was an atheist: ua-cam.com/video/XtQvMNUZhnI/v-deo.html. He didn't start out as an atheist, but credited absurd religious "logic", and religious hypocrisy for making him into one.
@@forkymental5154 Yeah, he still wasn't an Atheist, he himself believed that there is "a higher order, call it what you will", by his words. And why did you paste his classic religion skit? That doesn't make him an Atheist.
@@forkymental5154 I got to back-up my homie SHINY here. I cant remember the exact interviews, but some of them can be found on youtube, and in them Carlin himself has expressed himself being spiritually open-minded, so most of his critical thought was always geared towards religious institutions responsible for causing unimaginable amount of pain and suffering towards living beings as a whole.
Also, his daughter has frequently mentioned George sharing his displeasure of "categorizing" himself as some label for people to instantly judge him in his entirety (which we usually do, unfortunately), so privately he probably might have been so much more open-minded spiritually then we could ever imagine.
@@thearbyter7953 I think you misunderstand what atheism means. You can believe in a higher order, system, whatever and still be an atheist. Atheism simply means No(A) Gods(Theos). It is the lack of belief in god or gods. From what I've seen of his shows, Carlin was most definitely an atheist.
I love that, Van Hall. "If you're pre-born, you're fine. If you're preschool, you're fucked". Chest burning. Love it.
George was brilliant!! I was raised catholic before I realized how much BS it is.
I also thought that, but now I know the truth, which is even more depressing. I know that most people need religion in order to be moral, even though it's BS, because most people are primitive, and that won't change in our lifetime. So even though I don't believe in God, I know how necessary it is.
@@thefirehawk1495 Have you heard what genetics research has been discovering? Look into mitochondria eve and y-chromosone adam. Kind of hilarious to me that science is getting closer and closer to what that ancient book the 'bible' is saying.
Though as a devout Christian, I know just how dangerous religion can be over people. I believe in separating the two, religion and faith. I've met plenty of religious people with no faith, and far more faithful Christians that are simply not religious.
this whole album is epic...listen to the whole thing at once. Its Back In Town
Great analogy with the whiskey....his comedy will put hairs on your chest🤣😂
I have to tell you Van, I really love your channel bro. Whenever I need a pick-me-up the positivity of your channel sets me right again... You have a terrific family and you all seem so close you're very blessed... To tell you the truth sometimes I get a little jealous of how close you and your family are.....lol
He IS a professor; of the human and political condition 🔥
George went to Catholic school, but he is most definitely an atheist. I grew up watching George. One summer, I saw George, Richard Pryor and Cheech and Chong in consecutive months. He always pushed the limits a little bit further and he made us THINK. He was a master. One of the all-time greats.
He was a great comic, he also narrated The Thomas Steam Engine children stories. He was great.
this bit was cut short. the sanctity of life part is very good
George, the GOAT. I'm so glad I got to see him before he passed.
Carlin laid everything on the line.....his gig on "flying" had me rolling...because it was so true.
George was an actual GENIUS!!
You gotta watch his Complaints and Greivances special all the way through ... absolutely GENIUS, start to finish
I was lucky enough to see him in Georgia in 2007 not long before he sadly died. We need more like him, at the moment I can only think of Chappelle and Burr that are at his level.
I saw him in los angeles in 08 about a month before his body expired.
NO ONE is at his level. Dave says some pretty deep stuff and Bill is just plain funny, but George was in a league all his own. Lenny, George and Richard paved the way for all comics working since.
My wife and I saw him live. He is a prophet and comedian. In that order.
Goddamn Right
I got to see him live in Vegas back in the late eighties. So glad I made the decision to see his show. Unforgettable!
...he would tell you you're an idiot for believing in prophets...
@@dericanslum1696 It was a joke. Get over yourself.
Bc, ya know. He was a fucking comedian. He didn't believe in god. Which is why I used that term. He would've laughed bc he would've gotten the joke. Don't judge people.
George Carlin was a prophet who just happened to be a comedian. The man was a truth teller… most people can’t handle the truth but George didn’t give a shit. Here’s truth right in your face via Mr. Carlin!! RIP George!! We miss you
- Chickens are decent people -
~ George Carlin
When it’s us it’s a abortion and a chicken it’s a omelet 😂🤣😂🤣😂
I saw George Live On My 33rd bday ...went by myself :) was amazing
George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008).
So glad that young people are coming to know George Carlin. He was an absolute genius - far more than just a comedian. He was a philosopher. I wish he were here to comment on Donald Trump.
You can be a fan of someone’s work & art without falling in line with their values. Little trick from the past most have forgotten 🤔
George is a GOAT...started in the 60s, he was a clean comic, but then changed his show to drop facts
George Denis Patrick Carlin is his full name. He was an atheist. But what he says isn't to make anyone angry. He makes us laugh & think, which is definitely what we need to do a lot more of these days.
Pretty certain Carlin was an atheist.
...certainly...to think otherwise is ones own discomfort in facing the idea...
Being atheist and pro death are two different things.
One can be atheist and still have empathy for an unborn child being executed in the womb, guilty only of the crime of existing.
@@Muckylittleme Yes, they are two independent things; nevertheless, I’m pretty certain he was an avowed atheist. He practiced what he preached, so to speak.
Raised Irish Catholic.
False, Carlin was an agnostic.
God damn I miss George Carlin. I really do.
His full name was George Denis Patrick Carlin. Doesn't really sound as good as Bartholomew, does it? 😁 Also, he was agnostic. From Wikipedia (where you can find the original source quote): When asked if he believed in God, he responded, "No. No, there's no God, but there might be some sort of an organizing intelligence, and I think to understand it is way beyond our ability."
Like the reference to Coming to America
The uncomfortable squirming and rationalization in this video is almost as funny as Carlin 😂😂
This quote from the late, great Hitch unfortunately applies here…
“I’m sorry to have to say it. You strike me as a person who hasn’t read any of the arguments against your position, ever.”
Bill hicks is another great comic
Didn't he do "underwear outside the pants?"
@@steviekc9057 then he became Alex Jones when he witnessed Waco massacre
Looked it up. George Denis Patrick Carlin, born on May 12 1937 died on June 22 2008. brilliant man
His name is George Denis Patrick Carlin
Man wish you would've watched the full clip About sanctity of life its spot on. Great reaction though. One love from stl.
The rest of it is in the "Death Penalty" reaction.
Man I remember the first time I saw George he blew my mind, and changed my thinking .
"I just now made it clap" dead lmao
He ain't cold. The world is cold.
Lfr makes it clap... If the lfr family claps you're doing your job
I remember way back when George was first starting out and he was the "Hippy Dippy Weatherman, man!" was that on Saturday Night Live?
The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.
"I'm your Hippy Dippy weatherman, with all the hippy dippy weather... man"
Brother im so glad you got into this. This man was a genius
That Bone Thugs and Harmony is fireee
If George doesn't offend you or at least make you disagree at some point, he's failed... The last thing he would have wanted was mindless followers who weren't thinking for themselves as his fan-base. If you're questioning his logic, you're listening. ;-)
"He done named the nut " that shit sent me .
I heard that Coming to America quote. Tried to sneak it on up in there. 12:07
Nice shirt really like their song crossroads
"He make you think!" bingo!
Carlin's HBO specials should be played in schools to educate
His middle name ; George ( the philosopher ) Carlin
His logic is insane, thoughtful comedy on the edge
Expand?
No matter the topic, he will make you think! Great reaction - thanks!
4:18 the monk George spoke of is Thich Quang Duc look it up it's even featured in The Rage Against The Machine 1992 Album cover
Grew up with George Carlin, way back then he was called ' The Hippy Dippy Weatherman'
I've followed his entire career, & though I don't always agree with him 100% or find every joke funny.
Absolutly love everything he does. & You hit the bullseye with only 4 words. 🎯
* He Make You Think *
"He done named the nut." LOLOLOLOLOL
Now He is Preaching Truth .
Whiskey analogy is perfect
He was the best ever!! I miss you George! ❤
Ur channels great ☮️ I appreciate ya

RIP George Carlin. We miss you ALOT 💯❗❤️
Chickens are decent people. 🤣🤣🤣 He's so damn crazy
...if loving the lord is wrong I don't want to be right"...perfecy and accurately put...purposely choosing comforting lies over the inconvenient truth...
Love that poster of Janet in the background. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💣🍑🌋
In the 70's we all had his album. You are too young to imagine that was the only way to get our comedy
smh on the 'twerkin' explanation lol
He speaks the truth and the truth hurts sometimes

George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008)
LFR FAMILY: George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008) Although born into a Catholic family, he vocally rejected religion in all of its forms, and frequently criticized and mocked it in his comedy routines. When asked if he believed in God, he responded, "No. No, there's no God, but there might be some sort of an organizing intelligence, and I think to understand it is way beyond our ability.
Hey family! Just wanted to say if u want my opinion, if u listen to Richard Pryor u will hear the best storytelling comedians of all time!!!!!
George was fire for decades
I love how you think so highly of him that you feel he has to be referred to with three names, so you made one up and then just rolled with it. I’m cracking up, dude. Keep on smiling homesclice.
Love how your rep’n bone thugs n harmony! Probably the most slept on forgot about and under appreciated group of all time!
He certainly adds an interesting slant on things. Love George.
George Carlin has always been that Band-Aid you just yank off it hurts gos away
It's okay if you make it clap, man - we still love ya
George was a brilliant word genius. He strung words together like no one else. Try his skit, "Religion is BS" Not everyone can understand Mr. Carlin. Thanx
Hold straight to your beliefs but always keep your mind open
He's such a badass that he has two middle names. His full name is George Denis Patrick Carlin
You are introducing me to things. I would have not seen this if it wasn't for you!!!!!!!
George speaks truth! More wars have started over difference of religion than any other reason!!!!
The man can say it because he lived and grew up in a catholic family and school system. My father was raised the same way. When I was born I had a very serious heart problem and was not suppose to live. My father wanted the father of his church to baptise me just incase I didn't make it through the surgery. The father from the church said " Oh, the father at the hospital can do it." My family never went to church again. My Father was so pissed! When he needed them they just walked away.
George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008)
Eddie Izzard is my favorite. He's super smart and articulate. His Death Star Canteen bit is epic. Lego version, of course. He's British and a transvestite. His Dressed to Kill lp is brilliant.and he looks cool.
Eddie Izzard is a comedic genius. “Dress To Kill” is so great.
CAKE OR DEATH?!?
I do believe Eddie Izzard is actually transgender now. Either way, I love him / her too. Incredibly smart & funny, been watching Eddie since 2000 when my dad (my DAD was 70!) turned me on to one of his stand-up specials.
@@chrisf.7980 I Iove him either way too. Eddie? Is my favorite comedian, as well. No matter about the transgender. I've lost touch with his comedy. I will have too look for her, I mean, I guess? Wonder what her name change is
George Denis Patrick Carlin. Thanks for sharing!!!
Keep your vids coming brother! George was an atheist. Super smart as are all the best comedians. Carlin and Pryor were the best! Burr, Jeffries, Jeselnik are todays top. Check out carlin on the bible. Hilarious. Also Carlin on your rights. Been following you and your fam for awhile. Great job dad on raising your kids. Your sons channel is great too but I've watched a few. Too many channels only so much time. Peace out brother from another mother.
Carlin actually prays to Joe Pesci. Carlin said that it would be presumptive to think that God would change the divine plan. So when he prays he prays to Pesci. Funny shit.
"barz" 😂😂
George never had a problem a problem with being offensive, the thing is that people get offended by what he said but that's because he had a very good point and what he said was true, people are often offended by things they don't want to hear.
Feeling that bone thugs gear
Salutations!! First, the full name of "the THINKING man's comedian" is George Denis Patrick Carlin-- He left us all in 2008 at the age of 71 due to heart failure.... [Requiescat in pace--].... As for his comment about "the Age of Reason", that was a double-entendre, referring to both thinking for himself -*-*and*-*- referencing a three-part treatise written in the late 1700s by Thomas Paine [ --en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Age_of_Reason-- ]-- And, oddly enough, my favorite quote supporting the de-institutionalizing of 'religion' was spoken by the fictional character Dr. Gregory House [played by Hugh Laurie in the TV series]: “If you **could** reason with religious people, there would **be** no religious people.” -- Keep on keepin' on down the Common Sense rabbithole, my friend..... Blessed Be, & Peace!!
