~ Greg Koch ~
Hailing from the frigid wasteland of northern Wisconsin comes a beast the likes of which the world has never known. Greg Koch, a beast of both persona and guitar-mastery, couples his sickeningly magnetic personality with the guitar to create a style of playing that is both completely unique and deplorable at the same time. As a huge fan of the legendary Big Jim Hendricks Greg has taken all that is good and righteous about blues guitar and warped it into a ridiculously fantastic amalgamation of melodic defilement and mind-blowing creativity. Over the years Greg has shared the stage with everyone from Joe Bonamassa to Les Paul himself, never relenting, never ceasing to bring the ruckus.
I just picked up this same guitar (sunburst version) and I totally love it!!! It is a complete upgrade from my 2008 American Standard, and the tones of the N3 pickups are amazing, I am a happy man!
His dig at bass players hahaha SHOTS FIRED!!
Thanks for a review of a guitar that is not biased to rock/distortion. Love the skill, tone, and humor! Lol
We're running through the clean channel of a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, and use a Fulltone OCD pedal for the gristle!
Great review!! Informative, objective and funny as hell!! I'm still chuckling!!
Please , another video of this amazing guitar ! Please !!!!!!
This guy makes me want to take my guitar out of its case, wipe it off real good, then promptly walk outside and chunk it in the nearest trash can from my lack of ability. Seriously though... I love his reviews with Wildwood and Sweetwater. Very descriptive and helps the viewers gain a better overall understanding on each specific guitar sound and function. Thanks man!
Greg, love your videos man! You're a riot! Your character adds a touch of comedy that makes your videos that much more enjoyable. When I someday make it out to CO, to visit my wife's family, I will be sure to drag her to the Wildwood store. P.S. I love my Am. Dlx. Aged CB, maple fb, but I go back and forth with the N3's. Considering dropping in some CS Texas Specials, changing the S-1 out in favor of a 4-way blade in a Rock Rabbit plate, and reversing the controls. Don't know if you're familiar with Rock Rabbit, but if not, check 'em out.
Great review!!!
I've made the same question before and they answered: "It's always a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and a Fulltone OCD pedal." The same information can be found in the Wildwood website.
I like this guy and wanna get this guitar.
Excellent guitarist, witty and funny too!
great sharing!! love it ;)
The compound radius is actually 9.5" to 14".
I'm interested, I wonder if there is a model that has these features plus the thinline single f hole?
hahaha, that is exactly my config!! it gives you the best of both worlds, fender cleans with Marshall dirtiness!
what amp and distortion are you using?
I don't hear any difference between the tone of the deluxe and the standard. I really dig the standard. Rock on!
the difference is minimal, but it certainly is there. you would probably here it better if you heard it in person :)
I like this colour but can't see it anywhere available?
Our sales staff would love to get this guitar into your hands! send us an email or give us a call!
did you buy it?
NICE SOUNDS!!! WHAT ARE YOU RUNNING IT IN TO??? WHAT AMP????
I HAVE A 2011 BUTTERSCOCH ASH MIA Deluxe AND IT SOUNDS LIKE, WELL YOU KNOW BAD. I USE A FENDER 25R. WHAT DO I NEED TO GET THAT NICE TELE SOUND???
We are using a Tone King Imperial with a BB preamp in front! Thanks for your interest.
I love this review! Greg Koch has a sharp wit and can play some mean licks. Viva Greg Koch!
I don't know man.. That amp sounds pretty good to me. And at 40 watts, it sounds better at low volumes than those 80 watt plus Marshalls, Twins and Dumbles. Those amps are amazing but they're for large venues and won't do themselves or the instruments much justice turned down to 2 or 3. That's just my opinion.
Im depressed by your amount of amps =(
Haha he’s fun.
BEHOLD!
Please stop with the Hot Rod Deluxes! You have a ton of amps right next to it that sounds a LOT bettter! Usually if there is a guitarsound on a record or a demo that I really can't stand, or just sounds really awful, it often turns out to be the Hot Rod amp. You have a freakin Special Overdrive(!!) right behind you along with beautiful Marshall's and the mighty Twin Reverb! why use the shittiest cheapest amp you have, to ruin all the demos??
