Cool result! thanks for sharing and looking forward to more updates
Thanks for watching! Really appreciate it!
@@ElectricVehicleSpace Thanks for one of the best e-channels out there. I've been developing some cad designs for a moped style ebike and a 2 place velomobile trike, and this motor seems like potential good fit. I'd appreciate some honest feedback on the concepts if you have the time.
Can you share more on the battery setup?
Loved it very much
insanity!! I love it!
Thanks for sharing such kind information
NICE WORK
Looks great as is imo.
I think so too!

That is turning out very nice. I need to talk to CYC in the near future.
You should! SUPER COOL STUFF!

Wow bike
I am glad you liked it.
I had the same problem with one of my wheel sensors. A quick fix, would be to put a chunk of black foam under the sensor to bring it out. You can shave the foam just right too.
thank you for the suggestion. I really appreciate it. Will try tomorrow.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace You are welcome. Cheers.
What a great job you did on this build. Super sharp looking, with excellent choice of components. Very impressed. Cheers.
Glad you like it. Thank you so much. I was thinking for a super cool frame to make it really nice for you guys. I am glad I chose RX model.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace Brilliant.
Spending a lot of money on a super 73 but it looks great
I glued small neo magnets (10mm x 10mm x 1mm) to the outside of the rim ring - for the speed signal
Thank you I'm going to do the same.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace
I did the same on my Juiced Scrambler with no problems. Just glued the magnet to the wheel rim! I’m running a BBSHD with an ASI 800 with no problem pulling the front wheel off the ground. Pushing well over 3000w. You will need to have a custom rear wheel made from my searches for the same fix and they are not cheap. I’m thinking of just taking the windings out of the rear geared hub and run the axle through the casing. I’m not sure it will work but definitely will get rid of a lot of weight. Nice build and 72V will make a huge difference in not only speed but keeping the motor cool.
Tape (or JB WELD) a rare earth magnet to your rim. Works great!
I already have a magnet on the rim. Do you mean stronger magnet will work far from the frame and I won't need to build that extension?
nice
I didn’t know GGG is into super 73 bikes
Выглядит так же изврещенно как я люблю делать свои байки. Огонь!
snapping chains and hubs all day.
I just bought a Hisunyes V6 e-Moto, it looks like a "CyberGrom"!💯👍
It comes with pretty decent looking components, 300mm brakes, motor size from 2kw-8kw, & a 40Ah battery, they also will customize the bikes on certain specs.
The 3kw will hit about 55mph, which is decent for me, but I opted for the 5kw motor.
For only $1,700.00+ shipping I don't think there's a better starting platform, because if you buy a Super73 or Onyx you're spending so much money already, then gutting it, so your build by the end, with bike cost is $10k-$15k!!! 💯🤯
Plus they're still basically bicycles, no really heavy duty components, so really not meant to go at these speeds people are tuning them to, & "most" do these budget builds, & don't focus on reinforcing any of the parts, this is a proper build, & there's a few out there, but I'd rather already start with basically a motorcycle to build on that, hence I picked the Hisunyes V6! 💯👍
You are wrong. This bike project is between 4k to 5k and it is light and has pedals so it can use as a bicycle and there is no need for insurance and I can ride it everywhere. I can take inside my apartment easy... This frame is strong enough for 55mph and I have seen people ride them at 80mph which is crazy. I dont know what you bought since it does not show when you google it but cheap stuff is cheap for a reason. I love this build and I can swap one battery on my mountain bike and the mid drive fast and easy and I can have little bit of both bikes. The 3k or 5kw model you mentioned will not have pedals and require insurance and license and I would not want to go that route. You will also need parking or a garage.
Good
35 miles is good with such wide wheels /tyres, you should have a pair of wide hubbed thin wheels say 2" width see how far you can go on the road or smoother trail 🙏🇬🇧💪
I think 2 inch will be to think but 2.5 to 3 inch will be a sweet spot.
Epoxy a small strong magnet to the wheel rim (closer to the rear swingarm)
That's a good idea. Thank you.
Nice by cycle
indeed
technology will take us places
I used a Shimano Alfine 8 for my mid drive bike. If I were to put more money I would get Shimano Alfine 11. They are compatible with ebikes and require virtually no maintenance
I can't find a wheel without motor to remove the hub 😒
@@ElectricVehicleSpace what is the hub spacing needed? There are mountain bike hub makers that will make you a hub to any specifications. They do it for pro downhill racers.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace 🎉
Dashing bike
I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for commenting and sharing your thoughts.
👍👍
👍
I plan on doing this to my hurley big swell but keeping the hubmotor for low speeds and take offs.
Ive heard that using the mid drive on a fast gear everytime to take off is bad and im not trying to shift to low gears every time either.
If I torque limit to 150Nm then I can use an Envolio cargo hub and they're inexpensive when comparing with a Rohloff - if torque limit isn't saving the Enviolo CVT then I would probably upgrade to the Rohloff but it's like 1500 USD compared to 300 USD for a pre-strung Envolio hub.
You need belt kit now - since you have a somewhat standard distance (I'm upgrading a Fat Tad so I have a few options I'm just starting to prototyping) you can use standard Gates belts and pullies, but Veer also makes a split belt that you can adjust the length of your belts yourself and it's about 20% less than the Gates systems (again, for a standard two wheel ride).
I have been waiting to see a new build with the Cycmotor and this just reinforces my decision to use this mid drive on my tadpole (I have spinal damage from an accident and can't ride two wheel bikes anymore and also need a pedal assist for left leg which doesn't work right anymore). As a handicapped person literally on disability, I wish I could apply to have this paid for under the medical they give me but I don't really see how (kind of why I've been stalling).
Anyhow, thank you for the demo and remember where people see "limiter",. I see "power margin" so while I don't need 350Nm of torque all the time, it is something that when I am out in the middle of nowhere will be nice to have in case I am getting stuck in goopy/steep terrain and/or/while chased by a bear, cougar, elk in rut, etc.
I would also recommend Cushcore inserts, now that you have quite a lot of power to smash into things with lol
the code is only giving me 10 USD off when the freewheel kit alone is 48 USD
I'll wait.
You can get a Sturmey Archer 3-speed hybrid internal gear hub with cassette. I ran mine with a 4000w RC motor for 10 years.
Hahhaha @ traffic control, "where ya wanna go?!"
to the MOON!
Needs a front fender to prevent spray from your wide tire
Yes indeed that's also next
do use 120mm version. does it fit perfect ? Good video
I forgot what size sorry
How many watts is each battery and do you have them both connected up to the motor?
Fyi. An igh hub in the rear will not hold up.. cassette is the only way to go. Trp 7 or 12 speed worked really good as long as the chain line is on point.
What's the alxe width needed at the rear? if it the same with the front, you may need to have it customised.
I looked online and I cannot find it anywhere.
Молодец, очень удачная компоновка, я бы даже сказал идеальная. Высокая технологичность. Какая цена такого транспорта?
All together I think around 4k
@@ElectricVehicleSpace good price.
Instead of buying a new motor, try taking the rear wheel to a bike shop to see if they can re-spoke and add a 7 to 10 speed cassette to it. Looks great, but having those dual chains exposed would scare me. If debris or a pant leg got caught in there, that could cause a catastrophic accident.
It's a possibility but I wanted to test the kit and 55mph will not be doable with any bike shop. The level of quality and the versatility this kit offers is Insanely cool
Gud
All parts in one set ? Or separately necesar to buy battery and speed controller.
watch all video and previous clips.
The rear motor you should exchange for a similar front motor for 2WD and more silent operation than chain drive...
I am curious about those tires, are they motorcycle sized?
They are 20x5 inch size I like better mid drive
dual hub will cut range in half and loose torque
@@ElectricVehicleSpace I mean a free wheeling geared front additional to the mid driven rear. And then use them separately and only together when in some difficult terrain...
Is that a chain from a tractor supply store? I heard some people had difficulty popping off
Comes with the kit super high quality
Have a Rattan LM 750 which Battery’s is better the 48V 20AH or 48V 13AH?
I want to see more of this bike with the cyc mid drive good job tho 👌
Final upgrade coming this week
@@ElectricVehicleSpace still waiting for the next video 😁
@@kingofpirates4039 Sorry I cannot fond a 72V battery that fits that frame. Still looking on 52V i get 37mph and about 30 miles in range.
I hope you have a GPS tracker on this bike🙏🏼
I dont leave it outside but that is a good idea.
Why no to pre order Sondors e-motorcycle? Probably will be the same price but way faster and hustle free
That will require a license.
how do powerful ebikes like this handle inclement weather like rain or dew?
if you wrap plastic around the controller or waterproof it it is just fine. Got caught in the rain and nothing happened.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace cool ty. was kinda curious. appreciate the response.
Wondering if my Ariel Rider Kepler can run this kit if Battery is removed and the rear wheel is just a set of 7 gears and no Bafang? 😂 my rear rack can hold 40 ah of 72V battery for sure.
not a good idea to run this on a hub set up unless you remove the hub and connect this kit which will make the bike so much better.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace yes.. Make it a hub less rear.. Although my geared hub motor adds no friction just weight .
I found some 20 x 4 rear wheels on ebay but they're not cheap wheels. I'm assuming they're 20 x 4 wheels they look it
do you have a link? I searched and did not find anything...
let me know if you need the rear hub that can handle the torque im running 8000w on the same kit. :-)
This is a mid drive. How can you run a cyc kit and a 8kw hub?
@@ElectricVehicleSpace the point is get rid of the s73 Hub.
How much did you spend in total for this build. Is this the super 73 rx? When i get the motor from cyc, does it cone with a battery . I have so many questions for this build . Hope you can make a video for the actual build with all the prices.
Video posted previously on onboxing
What mount did you get for the controller please?l have that same setup for my S73-RX but l haven't installed it yet
I got two mounts and use the longer one. I dont remember the size.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace who made the box the controller sits in?
Gets sur ron dirt bike
hopefully that is coming next.
How many amp hours are those batteries?
Watch the video 📹
With narrower wheels/tires, it probably can go up to 65 mph.
Do you have a link for narrower tires?
Why can't you turn the rear hub motor into a generator instead of eliminateing it
Drag and to much weight and re charge will be minimal
please provide all installed parts and names.
all posted watch all cyc motor videos I posted previously.
Do the batteries come with the kit ?
If you buy them
@@ElectricVehicleSpace so the kit in the Lino does NOT include batteries .
@@retro93277
Correct. CYC offers batteries but you have to order them separately. You can also use other manufacturers batteries. I bought mine from Bicycle Motor Works (in USA).
What are you waiting for
I don’t think these frames are design to withstand this much torque and weigh????
I have riding for several days and all good.
when you see what kind of frames people put these powerful engines in, that super73 looks super safe compared to them: D and weight is not a problem, if average human weighs at least 85kg him/herself, the body must be able to carry way more than 100kg to be safe.
The highest stress areas in the frame are the headstay, and swingarm pivot. The triple clamps also see a lot of stress when under hard braking and jumping. These areas look solid on this design, so I wouldn't be worried about this one.
Compared to your typical bike this frame is built with durability in mind. Oversized tubes throughout, multiple gussets for additional strength. This is an ideal platform for this type of power and battery payload.
charge the battery with the rear wheel🤷🏼♂️lol
That's just silly and not doable
Looks like a lot of money ?
Yes you are right but good stuff don't come cheap. I stretched the project over 4 months and you get the reason.
Lol experience is priceless
@@ElectricVehicleSpace ha the guy that wrote this last comment to you about it being expensive- his last name is “frugal” lol
@@ElectricVehicleSpace I would love to do something like this, and would absolutely have to spread it over several months!
@@electrifiedlatina3036 Frugal don't mean cheap. Just means you expect value for what you spend. Was expecting an answer like " not too expensive, only $2K in parts.
What frame is this ?
watch the video again
@@ElectricVehicleSpace shame you can't mention one word in your comment that is useful to me ,
@@ElectricVehicleSpace and it was obviously so boring the i had to skip it and missed that part , I just wanted to know the name
@@demiTones don't be rude to the guy, its not his fault you didn't pay any attention, the frame is in the title, super73, s73, you can get another version thats like it called monkey bike.
@@mikethomas6051 was it hard for him to write back something constructive. The amount of words he wrote on the screen was more effort than telling me the frame name. He just wanted to be annoying for no reason, so what if I missed the frame name that’s why I asked. I gave him an option to engage with his audience. You on the other hand helped me and gave me information so thanks for that
Let me build you a nice battery pack for your 73 to fill up that space!! Check out Amp Hour Lithium channel and maybe we can trade for your Bajaboard!
I had CYC X1 Pro Gen 2 was an absolute disaster. Avoid wet weather and temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius. This waterproofnesss is a myth.
i rode this in the poring rain and it is fine also in the winter. The kit is perfect for all weather. The only problem can be keeping the battery warm and covered. Motors are not affected by temperature.
