Don’t take my advice 😅 but I have cancelled cards and unless you are in the month(s) between having an accepted offer on a house and closing, where you have to be so very careful, the harm on your score from closing a card is not a big deal. So glad I closed the 2 I did. You are doing great! I personally use ALL credit cards and pay them off every week. It is so worth the reward cash back to me. Even 1% back is free money! :)
I hope this doesn’t offend anyone but I think it needs to be said. First I’m 63 and made tons mistakes. I’m not directing this to anyone in particular but myself. Saving money and getting out of debt is simple yet very hard. It requires discipline and honesty. I’ve got to say NO more often. I write down our budget but don’t actually stick to it. For example $300 for groceries a month but I routinely go over and it’s not due to prices. It’s because I buy stuff we don’t need or buy too much. I can’t blame inflation on everything. I was supposed to be on a no buy this year. Well that failed spectacularly. So I’m going to try again. I could go on and on but will stop for now
I heard you mention that you had been using your debit card and credit cards alot too, I have found myself in this same rut. But, I keep telli g myself to not give up. Thanks for the encouragement and the transparency. Now, I know that I am notthe only one. Just hit the subscibe button.
Cash envelopes take a lot of discipline. It can be a challenge. I use cash envelopes for groceries, gas and restaurants. Other funds go into our savings. At this point we try to only use credit cards for booking hotels, large car repair bills but we do have the $$ in savings to pay off immediately. If budget is tight I’d cancel Hello Fresh.
I don’t like the cash envelopes other then things like groceries, beauty miscellaneous etc I don’t want a lot of cash in binders , my money is protected staying in the account..
these videos have been super helpful! Thank you for sharing! Can you do a Christmas budget video??

It’s so easy to use the credit cards but I gotta be better too
What do you order from Amazon on a monthly basis to take advantage of prime?
I pay for Prime monthly just to watch the shows myself. I only order products maybe once every 3 months.
