Pete once summed up John's playing style as "he's playing the bass but he's not really playing the bass". In fairness, John was once asked how he got to be such a great bass player. His answer: "Having to keep up with Keith Moon."
He's a good bloke...not arrogant nor pretentious...very down to earth. Love Rogers voice too...never cared for Robert P - the guy that ripped off Roger's whole "look"..to me Daltrey is the best front man/singer; his voice is tough, raw, and powerful and his range was amazing...well he's lost that but he still sounds better than Mick and most other living singers from back then...
Stupid, lazy comment. It’s seems a trend amongst many to repeat “underrated” on every video. People follow bands they love & appreciate. We all have our own tastes & preferences. Grow up.
Cool video. It made me think about how Eddie Vedder described talking to John Entwistle. He gave this funny impression where you couldn’t understand a fucking thing he said with a super thick English accent.
Daltrey loved his bass playing as well as the rest of the Who but from stuff I've read he also constantly complained of him being to loud. But to Daltrey's credit he did use him on solo projects. John was a shockingly phenomenal player!
What does Roger do when on a cruise and not performing ? I doubt he gets to mingle and enjoy the sun etc but then again, people with loads of $$ (passengers) are probably more respectful than the beer and shots of Jack Daniels crowd yelling “Come on give us some (burrrrrp ) “Teenage Wasteland!” 😅 Seriously- does he stay in some roped off VIP part of the boat ?
He's just a normal bloke who became a megastar. That said, he has never forgotten his roots. Give him his space and I'm sure he will share his time with you. I'm certain of that.
@@ramalama9650 absolutely didn’t answer my question at all. I’m curious about celebs on cruises where they can’t hide - does a helicopter come get him ? 🎧😵👋😇😄2️⃣😵☺️

Preceded by a pregnant, "Uhhhhh", no doubt!
As John once said, "I don't play bass, I play bass guitar!"
RIP Ox!
John Entwistle, fist lead electric bass player. I miss you John. Wish you were still with us!
Best bass player
Well said Roger. No truer words were ever spoken..R.I.P. John.
Roger is so criminally underrated as a singer and team player. His autobiography is brilliant.
Absolutely true. Daltrey, Moon, Townshend and Entwistle. First class act. In there with The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Beattles and Deep Purple.

Daltrey has never been underrated as a singer! What makes you say something like that??
Oh. Give Me a fucking break with these idiotic "underrated" comments...

I love The Who
I've met Eddie Vedder. He's so chilled you wouldn't believe it.
John Entwistle was the soloist of The Who.

Not a bass player, but a bass-guitar player.
That’s how he preferred to describe himself.

I should say during the part of the day he’s not performing 😊

he is asked a question about John , then starts babbling about eddy Vedder
yeah the question was posed to be answered after he answers about Eddy vedder
