You REALLY need to watch the live version of Jeff singing “see the light” and keep in mind that Jeff was completely blind since about 3 years old. One of the most talented & incredible humans to have ever lived.
Absolutely support this comment.
@@silversagerae6353me too
Absolutely, and his performance of while my guitar gently weeps. It gives me goose bumps, and confidence man is great too.
Yes !!!
If you can find where Jeff and SRV play together, you won’t be disappointed.
"You don't play bad for a blind white boy."
"Yeah, and I thought you'd be bigger."
If you've ever seen Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze, Jeff and his band are in the movie as the house band in the bar.
Jeff Healey was an amazing guitarist and a phenomenal singer. RIP Jeff!
Jeff Healey was blind, he passed away at the age 41 of Cancer in 2008. RIP
😭 he was so handsome!! ❤ He's in a place where he can see and no more pain.
@@iamhere4now980 ❤🙏
Canadian GOAT of the guitar!
"How can he play that?"
Because it's Jeff Healey, an amazing guitarist.
Jeff Healey’s duet with Stevie Ray Vaughan on LOOK AT LITTLE SISTER will change your life!
Yes, brilliant video. When people talk about great guitarists, they often fail to mention Gary Moore or Jeff Healey, I think they are both awesome.
Jeff was amazing. I first saw him on the movie Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze. He basically played himself as a blind musician playing and singing in a band. Found out he really was blind. He had a form of eye cancer and had to have both eyes removed as a one year old. He had an impressive career but unfortunately died of cancer in I believe his early forties. If I’m wrong I’m sure someone will correct me. His live performance of his song “See the Light “ is fantastic ❤
He was SO GOOD in that movie.
One of the best guitarists of all time and one great singer. Seeing him play twice in person was amongst my fondest musical memories. You must see his other videos!
See the Light is a tremendous song to review.
I'm SO jealous 😊 hope you enjoyed it for all of us.
He does a duet with Stevie Ray Vaughan and it is amazing! He also played jazz trumpet and who an expert on 20's and 30's jazz. He had an amazing record collection and could locate any disc by feel. Hosted a radio programme about jazz as well.
Hang on - WHAAAAT? What is the name of that song?
Look at little sister
I love that duet. Look at Little Sister is a beast of a song.
RIP Jeff Healey, I first heard of him in the Patrick Swayze version of Road House. Been a fan ever since
One of my favorite love songs of the era. This is one of many songs I sing to my wife as she rolls her angel eyes at me.
LOVE this song, Jeff Healey was brilliant
I don’t think you realized or mentioned that he in fact is BLIND!! Even more impressive isn’t he!!? They used his music in the movie ROADHOUSE…. Glad you like him!!
He even had a bit part in the movie. 💁🏻♀️
They just didn't use his music in Roadhouse, he was in Roadhouse!
The original Roadhouse, not the new one that just came out/is coming out.
Canadian legend, See The Light or I think I love you too much are also classic. He's blind btw....
Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Jeff Healey....don't let life stop you! inspirational
I was always struck by how most of his songs were titled around sight, eyes and seeing. I remember when he broke out. He was just an amazing dude. May he RIP and be able to view all of these reactions to his amazing music.
Lost his sight due to cancer at age 3 and lost his life to cancer at age 42.
A Canadian.
He played more than guitar.
He was a true genius and guitar virtuoso and widely regarded as one of the world's all time great guitarists and he had a great voice as well.
He was close to the age where he passed away in this performance.
Do check out some of his other performances. You won't be disappointed.
Thank you for sharing and keeping Jeff alive for others to appreciate.
He left us a lot of great performances and videos to enjoy.
At this time Jeff was feeling the reaccurence of his cancer , which took him away too soon, R.I.P
Now that you know Jeff was blind, I find your reaction to his performance even more touching because in your eyes he was a great performer, singer. You saw him “whole”. ❤
FYI, blind since a child due to cancer. He was amazing.
Ty to whoever suggested this ❤
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@brittreacts Please react to Jeff Healey's songs/videos "AS THE YEARS GO PASSING BY" Germany 1995 and "HOOCHIE COOCHIE MAN". RIP Jeff. ❤
And he was an absolute amazing trumpet player among other things. Had a great Jazz band for many years along with an amazing radio show..
Jeff Healey was a terrific blind guitar player and singer who probably most notably played himself in the movie Road House.
Loved my man from the 80s, this has always been one of my favs from this incredible performer! Blind and still phenomenal in every way!
Me too! I'm a hopeless romantic ❤️
He was blind Britt, he also plays a really good role in the original Roadhouse movie with Patrick Swayze
He's not out of his mind - he's blind and getting into it baby.
Watch him sing "As the years go passing by" & you'll really see him go to town on the guitar
R.I.P. Mr Healey 🥲
I LOVE JEFF SO MUCH!!!
That brother is an amazing artist and is visually impaired……he also was in the movie Road House with Patrick Swayze…he was house band at the bar. 🤙🏽
Saw him play up close at a bar in Kelowna.
He was amazing. Watching him play that guitar was something else.
He did get up and was moving around, walked into a pole on the stage. Never missed a beat. 😳🇨🇦
This song means so much for me, covering all the emotions. This is not the strongest / best version of this song (IMHO), but this song still resonates. I met and fell in love with a wonderful and lovely women who was 15 years my junior. I was 49, she was 34. All of the lines in this song represented me - I couldn't dance or sing (my wife did both brilliantly). We would walk hand in hand and the looks we got from the men always seemed to be saying "How did you get her?". LOL. At this time time this song was me. Then when I turned 60 my lovely wife announced she was not happy or in love with me anymore. Many issues on both side, but I was still rocked by this news because I NEVER saw it coming. Now the song reminds of what I lost and it breaks my heart over and over again. Such is life!
I understand completely as mine was a similar experience, but l was the older one by 11 years, and he was the younger man..l remember those looks.. and my satisfied smile, too😂.. alas, he too fell out of love with me..I'm 64. There's no point even thinking of looking elsewhere as l still love him to bits..as you say..such is life..we had a damn good time while it lasted and l think to a certain extent proved the doubters wrong..🇬🇧💕🙏✝️👍❤️
Yet another legendary musical gift from 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
He is in a special class with Ray and Stevie.
As the years go by will blow you away. I really need you to listen to it. Then u will know who Jeff is. Amazing talent
Jeff is from Toronto, Canada, which is something I didn't know until after he passed away from sarcoma. While Angel Eyes is his most popular song IMHO his song "See the Light" is his best. He also did a kick ass version of George Harrison (The Beatles) "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".
Jeff was blind. He wasnt having an out of body experience. Being blind he would have that look. He did pass away. He was an amazing artist!
Amazing singer, he was also blind.
He’s blind and that’s why he plays to guitar in his lap. He’s also been in the movie called roadhouse with Patrick Swayze and he was a guy played in the band up on stage that you can see playing this music in the movie.
Jeff playing the guitar with it laying on his lap had nothing to do with his sight or lack thereof. It was simply more comfortable for him that way.
I'm sure it was more comfortable due to the blindness as well. It's less difficult for him than being on his feet and moving about the stage when he couldn't see.
Huge musical presence way back when! STILL have his music on a playlist!
a MUST see is his live See The Light! you'll really see his talent in that one 😁
Britt you got to see him in a duo with SRV that is Stevie Ray Vaughan
Jeff Healey was a blessing to music. RIP Jeff
There is a video of him and Stevie Ray Vaughn playing together which is to DIE FOR!
The reason he is not moving on stage is because he is blind, Britt.
Jeff was not afraid to move around on stage. Maybe not like a person with sight but I've seen him get after it and moving about the stage.
Saw him and his band in the Garage, Glasgow in the 90s and he was brilliant. He really lets loose when playing live. Nearly blew the roof off the place. Unforgettable experience. Up there with SRV and Gary Moore and also a terrific songwriter with a great back catalogue. Gone much too soon, like the other two.
For my wife & I, this is "our song".
Absolutely beyond awesome ❤️🔥
Thank you 🙌
Jeff was blind from an early age due to cancer. Lost him about 2 years ago when the cancer returned. He also was in the movie Road House
Sorry but Jeff passed in 2008 RIP
Jeff wasn't just blind, he actually lost both of his eyes from cancer at 3 and had ocular implants, the cancer that killed him at 41 was in his lungs. He developed this style of playing that was completely unique to him. Another of our Rock geniuses who died way too young. Loved this song.
Beautiful song and performance!
There's a clip from David Letterman's late night show of Jeff performing the Beatles "While my Guitar gently weeps"
George Harrison told him it was the only cover of his song that he liked better than his own version
On relationships, I have always felt that your sole purpose in a relationship is to make your PARTNER better at whatever it is they do
This goes both ways
If you're with the right person, you each find small ways to do that for each other
I recommend see the light from his performance on The Tonight Show
Music night was not the tonight show
@@michaelhillmann3460 he was on jonny Carson in 1988 on the tonight show
@@stevehedrick5400 my bad the clip that everyone plays is from a different show with Dr John etc
best wedding song ever
This song was written by one of America's greatest songwriters. John Hiatt.
Loved this song since i was a kid
This is Canadian music. We like it when it comes from the heart.
Jeff absolutely shreds in his cover of the Steelers Wheels song, "Stuck In The Middle With You". Worth a listen for anyone who hasn't heard it.
❤❤❤RIP Jeff ❤❤❤
The fact that he is so good covers for the fact that he was blind.
I remember him in Road House. . He was so talented. Both Jeff and Patrick were taken by cancer too early
This song was played at one of my friends wedding it was for their 1st dance .
A great Canadian singer and guitarist who died much too soon - such a smooth, silky voice
You got angel eyes Britt Britt
If you have ever seen the movie roadhouse he was the one singing in the band in that movie
You just have to check out See the Light live with Jeff Healey that performance will blow your mind without any doubts!!!
He did this song in the Road House movie with Patrick Swayze. He plays the guitar like that because he's blind.
He didn't perform this song in Roadhouse
This used to be my favorite song.
Thank you for reacting to Jeff Healy, your probably one of the only ones that have btw I just don't understand how impactful he really was
He played on his lap because when he was learning how to play his hands werent big enough to go around the neck.
For more of his guitar work, I suggest his cover of Albert King's "As The Years Go Passing By" live in Stuttgart.
He is a great singer, and he performed this song in the movie roadhouse with Patrick Swayze many years ago and just so you know he is blind
Beautiful love song, this and "Satisfied" by Ian Moore are my top two.
Stevie Ray Vaughn "discovered" Jeff, and there are vids of them performing together, which I HIGHLY suggest watching.
This is definitely a junior high school dance song. 😂
Check out Jeff and Stevie Ray Vaughan " Look at Little Sister "
This must have been towards the end of his life. The official video which I think is also live, is much better.
You should also watch Jeff's rendition of Albert King's "As The Years GO Passing By" from Stuttgart Jaxx Festival in 1995. Blues!
Love can only exist in equal parts. Anything more or less isn't love.
My father met Jeff back in the day shortly after Roadhouse came out with Swayze & even got his autograph. He gave it to me but my dumbass lost it while moving to a new city.
Please react to Jeff Healey's songs/videos "AS THE YEARS GO PASSING BY" Germany 1995 and "HOOCHIE COOCHIE MAN". He was also a Jazz man with The Jazz Wizards. Definitely worth checking out, as well. Jeff is a Legend. I think when you can't see, you feel the music more or feel it in a different way. He was taken from us way too soon. RIP Jeff. ❤
John Hiatt's is one of the most under rated song writers!
Rest in peace my brother ..
❤❤❤❤❤
My favorite karaoke song to do.
Great song written by John Hiatt
New Grass Revival does an excellent cover of this song.
This was our prom theme song in Y2K.
Owned it in the original Road House movie
Another amazing song written by John Hiatt. Jeff's interpretation is outstanding, yet another artist taken from us way too soon. Jeff was a devoted musicologist, owning thousands of albums covering many genres. A few have mentioned already, but his interpretation of the Albert King classic, "As The Years Go Passing By" is otherworldly.
You DEFINITELY have to check out some of the live stuff he did with Stevie ray Vaughan! Dude can get down on the guitar
Forget the other B shit...she is absolutely right!
Nice IU sweater
I like the recorded version ive never seen live
This is cool love Jeff Healy, but the recorded version is much cleaner.
You're hitting the good ones.
🫡
Thought for sure that my man Jeff would get a PDC nomination for this one...blind or not.
🤔
@@brittreacts I concur with gregorykenfield3134 on that, for sure!! Jeff should be in the PDC!!
I like a lot of his music but one of my favorite’s and not well known is “i tried”.
Blind as. a bat. His voice pierces my heat to this day. Watch the original Road House with Pat Swayze, he's got a decent part.
he was in a movie Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze tfs
Written by the great John Hiatt, whose music almost no one reacts to on UA-cam.
He loves the music he plays and the other reason is he's blind. That's why he plays the guitar like that. Notice the he moves and gets into the music much like Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles did.
A good woman is worth anything. So much great music has the anguish of lost love in it - that kind of love changes the world! One of my favorite songs. Tons of soul in his voice. He stole the show in the original "Road House" with Patrick Swayze. It's funny how he sings so much about what things look like, though, given that he's blind. Sadly, his voice lost some dynamics over the years - earlier performances have some extra angst in it - but he's still a great performer.
If you want to hear Jeff really play the guitar, give a listen to him with Stevie Ray Vaughn doing "Little Sister" OMG...YIKES!!!
