I just received the PF Beluga in the mail 3 days ago. I also have the lue Micarta version. I really love the blade geometry,fidget factor and smoothness of the action. The PF Beluga is an amazing budget knife for sure!
I bought this knife a couple weeks ago and was surprised at how great it feels. One of my favorite knives for only 38 bucks.
This is also one that I've ordered that is on its way. My civivi elementum tanto in brass, twosun ts267 and the beluga will arrive next week. Helluva Christmas present for myself.

@@michaelvoorhees5978 would definitely say that the twosun is my favourite. Such a beautiful blade and great action. Second I would say the beluga, also incredible action and a great work knife. The elementum is also very beautiful but I would say to go for micarta instead of brass or copper. It's a very heavy knife for its size.

I snagged the black and tan version soon as they dropped, 4 impatient weeks later it arrived from China. I've had it for a month, needed a knife I could operate during winter with gloves. Drop shut out the box, haven't had to tighten it yet, stupid smooth. Lighter in the pocket than you'd imagine. I'm confident it'll stay in the pocket and get used hard.
Got mine today. So far it's a great knife. I fidget with it a ton.
It really is an awesome knife. My friends got a couple of them and let me use one for a week. It cuts like a lazer and just such an awesome knife.
I just ordered the black g10 w/stonewashed blade. Can't wait for it to arrive.

This is an amazing knife. I love everything, including the front flipper. I wish they made a thumb stud version too.
The designer is named Nashorn, which means rhino, hence the logo. I have the exact same version of this knife and love it!

I just got my second beluga earlier in the week murdered out but I also bought the new 868 flipper in green micarta & at the time they had a $7 coupon so it was only $27 can't beat that & it's a Lil smaller than the beluga with a hole for flickin and I like it's a sheep's foot but all belly! Oh and got my Keryx Monday as well it's on point... But for the couple things that could be improved on some of the PF knives they get alot of things right especially at their price point & my first beluga which is 5 months old has held up pretty damn good.....

I order and received the same version. The edge was sloppy and had a small chip, so I gave it a new edge. I've got ton to where I do that to almost every new knife, so it was no big deal. The pocket clip seems a little flimsy and moves if my fingers rest on it while deploying the blade. Still, it's great for the price.
I like you. I am a Blade Smith! Some of my knives cost several thousand dollars! The way you speak of the comfort level and actual usage is great. Please understand to YOUR Following [me included] that a butter knife from your grand-moms kitchen can be (In my hands) the best knife ever made. The P/E family is an older maker, folks don't know about. Why? They are cost cheap! D-2 vs 124 CPM (one is powder steel) the other is bulk slabs. Keep on my brother. I ordered and received the brown micarta w black and black on black versions. The brown micarta goes well with the khaki tactical pants I usually wear. One of the better medium-large folders…tough and very solid feeling. Excellent blade geometry. It’s a ridiculously excellent value. I also got the baby bumble bee version. Nice enough but I like the big brother better. All in all I’m very pleased. PS: excellent vid as always. Thanks galore.
I like the pf878, pf818, and the 949 warrior the best.

I got the same one in the video except my pocket clip is silver.. someone on Amazon said that’s the older model. Either way it’s so hard to open and I know front flippers very well. It just tears up my fingers after fidgeting for just a few minutes. I can’t decide if I want to keep it or find something else. But I love everything else about it.

This one works oh so well. The fuller too works for ALL reverse finger flicking; pinky, ring-finger, middle, index. You can also thumb flick this guy! SOOO easy!

Have the gray G10 one ordered. Looks like a sweet knife! Am curious about the K110 also. Some say it’s just D2 and others it’s an improved D2. Either way look forward to trying it. Thanks for the review!

I agree. Great knife but it would have been better as a standard flipper. Maybe even some thumb stud action would have been better. Its definitely a beefy knife. Great user though. The micarta isn't bad. Its pretty much the same as most micarta. For the price you get a good bang. Its definitely not a 200 dollar knife 😂

This knife SLAPS! The micarta could be a little grippier and taking it apart is a little odd bc the screws on each side rotate with with each other so you have to unscrew both sides. At least with the one I've got. I really enjoy this knife though

Beluga is the best for PF but I want to get 14c28n on this version, not mini beluga version. I think mini version on damascus handles is too small for me, very very small. I want a big bohler k110 like main version!! Just thinking about it make me happy.😢
Won’t that sandblasted finish rust easily? I like it a lot but ordered the coated blade instead. Just in case I leave it unattended for a while in the future.

I've seen this and other PF knives on Ali* but they're all bit heavy. Great looking knives if the heft doesn't bother you.

Just got mine in yesterday, black G10 version. Nice knife, a little disappointed in the front flipper and the G10 feels way too much like FRN. I like the blade shape and it's comfortable in the hand, great action too. I'm probably going to curve the tip of the flipper, seems like it'd flip a little better with a slight curve. Seeing yours I think I should have gotten the blue micarta version, it looks really sweet
Yeah the micarta is pretty decent, I wonder if it helps with the front flipper a bit since it's a bit more grippy, either way the flick works great
Interesting knife, definately large enough to fit the hand and looks like the size is a benefit in cutting tasks, not big on front flippers but the reverse flick looks solid. Still on the fence on this one maybe after some long term usage reviews comes in I'll bite on this one. Until then keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

Co worker and I have noticed the PFs get loose a lil too quick. Lots of blade play. Knife needs lots of attention throughout its use.

Try some blue medium hold thread locker it should fix the issue just make sure you let it cure, IL see if I can get one in for testing

I got my Beluga a few weeks ago. Front flipper would be so much better if it had fine jimping. When you slip off it hurts like a mofo.
Also, my liner lock has slipped off and gotten stuck behind the lock face.
Besides that great bang for the buck.

My detent must be too hard because using my front flipper is painful. It's too short and pointy. And the edges of the handle as you point out should be shorter, my finger hits them trying to front flip.

I have the brown micarta version with the coated blade and love it. A bit heavy but still great. I just got in the mail today the Petrified Fish PF868 Bunta in green micarta. Took 3 weeks but I think I like it even better than the beluga especially for $34.99. Check it out

You bragged about the lock up on how great it is but you never actually showed it in the video or talked about what percentage of the lockup.. I ordered this knife 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting and I'm curious on the percentage of the lock up which I haven't seen any videos yet explaining it which is pretty disappointing. The three main things people want in their pocket folders are 1, blade material 2 shape of knife, and 3, lock up mechanism. You never covered any..
Mine took about 3 weeks total to get here so you should have yours soon, it's a solid early lock up, meaning the bar is directly under the tang, your right I shoulda showed a close up, the lock face geometry seems pretty solid for regular to heavy use. And I covered the steel and showed the steel choice in the description, and I covered the blade shape through the cutting geometry
@@NeevesKnives so funny I actually just got mine in the mailbox today LOL. Tonight looks pretty awesome and easy to deploy and close I have about a 30% lock up which makes me nervous. But as far as slicing and cutting goes this blade seems awesome but I'm not sure about thrusting with a full thrust if the liner lock will give out or not. I don't see why it's so hard for companies to make a 50% lock up..

I mean, it is called just Beluga... Beluga is the model, Petrified Fish is the company. Hence the name Petrified Fish Beluga. Same thing really as any other company name with their model name that follows. ie Artisan Cutlery Arion, Zero Tolerance 0562, etc.

Yeah I said that, I said this is just blue micarta not denim micarta. I wasn't trying to say it was denim micarta, and I was showing the difference between denim micarta and blue micarta. In most cases blue micarta is denim micarta, it's only recently we have seen blue micarta not as denim
