It cracks me up that this guy is saying, wow this guy Freddie Mercury can really sing. I guess I am really getting old and just expect that even the younger generation should know Queen and Freddie. So, just a fact. Freddie is consistently in the top three of any rankings of the best singers of all time. He's often on top. Keep listening due, they have tons of great songs.

Just 4 amazing men… their live harmonies are mind blowing. Watch anything from the July 1986 Wembley concert… It’s a Kind of Magic, Under Pressure, the Rock & Roll medley shows their fun side., Love of My Life (and in the Rock in Rio concert). Save Me from this ‘81 concert. So many good performances and songs! Freddie and Queen entered my life when I was 10 and it was devastating when Freddie died- I was 21 and still feel his loss. He was truly gifted. I do wish I’d been able to see the 4 of them in concert.

Brian May has a special guitar sound because he and his father made it. It took them 2 years using things around the house like wood from a fireplace, his mothers knitting needles, etc. it’s called the red Special and he’s still playing it. His father made the radio and TV in their home. They were very poor.

This was ranked the second greatest live performance with Live Aid ranked the best in musical history. The incomparable Roger Taylor!! He was/is a beast on drums and vocals! To really appreciate his drumming and amazing vocals please react to his song I'm In Love With My Car from this same concert. Both Brian and Roger are starting their final tour as Queen this October. Phenomenal band! 😂♥️👑🎤🎸🎹🥁 Rest In Paradise beautiful Freddie 🙏❤️👑.

Pretty well anything from this concert. Not only is the sound quality brilliant but it was shot on 35mm film which allows a good 4K transfer. Milton Keynes has a great version of this song too and many other songs. Wembley which is a video shot over a couple of night s is good too especially love of my life. I think though it’s like anything once you listen to the back catalogue you realise some of their more unknown songs are just as amazing as their hits (more so It’s Late, Black Queen, Stone Cold etc etc) mainly because their more unknown hits should have been hits.

Finally a comment about Live Aid. The best 21 minutes of rock you will ever see. This Live Aid concert is considered the best Rock N Roll concert to date. Queen took that concert and stole the show! The concert was to raise money to aid with the horrible famine in Africa. I am tired and will let you google it. Enjoy your venture into Queen and join the Millions of people around the world who love Freddie and of course the whole band. Roger Taylor. Drums. Sir Brian May. Lead guitar and John Deacon. bass. When those 4 musicians play it is magic! 9:57

If you want to see Queen at their very best (in my opinion at least) watch Queen at Live Aid 1985. The "perm" is natural and it's on Brian May, lead guitar. John Deacon plays bass, Roger Taylor on drums.

Thank you for that 😍 I do miss Freddie no matter how many times I’ve listened to his voice.
You have started with one of their best performances ever so here are some other suggestions just to get you started on your journey to Queen:
    -Bohemian Rhapsody-official video 1975
    -Killer Queen-video 1974
-White Queen-live at the Odeon 1975
    -Don’t Stop Me Now-video 1979
-Crazy Little Thing Called Love-video 1979 (written by Freddie as a tribute to Elvis after Elvis died)
-Another One Bites the Dust-video 1980
-Under Pressure with David Bowie 1981 (don’t even mention that thief and his idiotic Ice Ice Baby-David Bowie sued Vanilla Ice on behalf of him & Queen)
-Queen’s performance at the Live Aid concert at Wembley 1985
More recommendations will roll in because Queen has a lot to offer 🥰

My favorite band of ALL time! They have the obvious songs that everybody knows and then they have songs that people know….they just didn’t know it was Queen? These are multi talented musicians….most can play multiple instruments, the bass player built an Amp called the Deacy Amp, the lead guitarist and his Dad built his lead guitar called the Red Special that has a very unique sound. All 4 went to college and got degrees, biology planning to be a dentist (Roger, Drums), electrical engineering (John, Bass Guitar) , creative art (Freddie) and then Sir Dr. Brian May in astrophysics. He worked for NASA for a time on the side? A side job with NASA cause you are the lead guitarist for Queen? 🤯 Adam Lambert sings with Queen now and has since his time on American Idol now around 12 years? He is a class act. Check him out singing solo at the Kennedy Center Honors….Singing Cher’s song “Believe”. In front of Cher. 🤯it is so great! The thing is that Roger and Brian still play and Adam is probably one of the few people that can handle Queen songs. He doesn’t replace Freddie but he has helped bring their music to a whole new generation. Okay bye! 😂

I'm old. so I grew up with Queen, but I didn't listen to rock much and only knew them from the music videos on MTV in the 80's. But in 2020, with the pandemic, I started watching UA-cam videos more and saw my first live Queen video (this one, actually) and I went down a huge rabbit hole. Then I discovered 70's Queen, which is a different experience, and then the mature Queen from the final years with Freddie. Anyway, I get more energy from Freddie performing in a 50-year-old low-quality video than most current musicians. And I credit Pentatonix and live Queen videos for getting me through the worst of the pandemic.

Ditto for me, too, during the pandemic lockdown. I lost everything and was in hospital most of 2020. I needed heavy-metal rock to drown out the noise in my mind and discovered '70s Queen on UA-cam. What a rabbit hole I enjoy every day!!

Four great musicians gave us all this fantastic music, instrumental and vocal! Freddie, Roger Taylor-Drums and vocal backup; Brian May-Guitar and vocal backup, John Deacon (Deaky)in blue on Bass (says he can't sing lol). Now only Roger and Brian are Queen + a singer...currently the 3rd to work with the two who pull in a lot of fans.. BTW, Freddie dies and Deaky soon retired...said, no Freddie, no Queen. With tears, I agree.

  • @sherryheim5504

Curly hair is the guitar player, Sir Dr. Brian May, CBE, PHd (astrophysics). and that is his natural hair, he still wears it the same though it is now gray and not nearly as thick. He turns 76 this week and is still rockin". Incredible performance, Freddie is so good. Roger is back there on the drums singing most of the song with Freddie. This song was written by Freddie as a gospel type song in honor of Aretha Franklin who her truly admired. You are right, nobody can replace Freddie, and thankfully Brian and Roger never have tried to do that. They toured with Paul Rogers (Free and Bad Company) for a bit before Paul had to get back to his solo stuff and then they met Adam Lambert who has a huge range, a great voice and could actually sing all the Queen songs in the key they were written. Adam is an admirer of Freddie and would never try to emulate him, Adam just puts his own spin on the songs and the fans love it. Queen+Adam Lambert have a North American tour coming up in October and the tickets all sold out in the first day. Queen shows are a full on production, a feast for the senses, something that nobody else does these days. The shows today are really paying homage to how Queen shows were back in the day but they are outstanding and well worth seeing. Brian and Roger are getting on in years so I doubt that they will do many more tours, I am rather guessing that this will be the last one or maybe one more, calling it a farewell tour. People of all ages are still flocking to see Queen, selling out huge venues. Thank you for your reaction.

OMG! I love watching people react who are not familiar with Queen's music. They are different from any other band. Those 4 musicians are all among the best. They really don't have a genre. They do about anything. Massive catalogue. Anything from rock to ballads to opera, gospel influence, etc, etc. The videos are great. The music is superb. The lyrics for many of their songs go straight to your soul, especially when you become familiar with their back stories. And Freddie was/is the absolute best frontman a stage has ever seen. He holds the entirety of their massive audiences in his hand. Definitely watch Live Aid performance from 1985. Freddie is mesmerizing, energizing, visually spectacular in the way he moves around the stage. Once you slide into the Queen rabbit hole, it will be a long wonderful journey into some of the best music you'll ever hear. Also The Show Must Go On, Innuendo, BoRhap, A Winter's Tale, Is This The World We Created, Bijou, Who Wants To Live Forever and on and on. Some of the songs were done shortly before Freddie's death and when you know the back story, the songs can be enough to leave you weeping in your heart. Other of their songs make you grin with joy. They are just plain AWESOME. Enjoy the ride!

I was at that concert. I was 17 years old at the time. Before the show we were told ( the crowd) not to be so loud since they were filming the concert. After a few songs, Freddy told us to be as loud as we wanted and mentionned ' fu... them ' . I was blown away by that concert. As I was walking back home, I was still in a daze wondering what I had just witnessed. I saw them a few times in concert ( including the LIVE aid show in england) and I find they were better in concert that on a recording. And Roger Taylors' voice, simply phenomenal. That was good real music with real talent. No auto tune, just pure raw talent!!

Queenie here. Trying to make this short and sweet. Sir, Dr. Brian May is an astrophysicist and plays on a guitar he built with his dad when he was 16. He's also a great vocalist and songwriter. He's 75 now. That is his hair... still the same now, even if thinner and pure white with age. Roger Taylor, 73 now, is an amazing drummer, vocalist, and songwriter, too. Roger has a degree in Biology. He is also the naughty, pretty boy of the group. Yummy beyond belief, he still makes me squeal at 62 years old. (Roger's son Rufus Tiger Taylor is also an incredible drummer and plays with The Darkness. He's also yummy.) John Deacon (Deacy - pronounced "Deaky"), now 71, retired in 1997 after Freddie died in 1991. John is also a legendary songwriter. You won't see any legit pics after 1997 from Queenies out of major respect for his privacy. John has an Engineering degree and made, from junk, the Deacy Amp that helps create many of Brian's unique sounds on guitar. Anytime you hear something that sounds like a trumpet or clarinet or other instrument not on stage, that is the Deacy Amp at play. ("Killer Queen" is a great song to hear the amp's abilities.) Then there is Freddie, of course. Freddie had a degree in Art & Design and created the Queen logo still in use today. Another gifted and prolific songwriter (all 4 are in the Songwriting Hall of Fame together... the first band to be so designated), Freddie was a brilliant star... still shining in our skies. They are one of the few great bands to never have broken up, even when Roger, Brian, and Freddie did solo endeavors, they always came back together. They fought like siblings (or enemies, sometimes!), but knew that together, they were stronger than apart. Enough for now... when you fall down this beautiful rabbit hole, bring lots of snacks and other fortification, because it is a long and freakin' incredible journey. One more thing, for your channel, get ready for it to explode when you do Queen videos. We are a rabid bunch always looking for new people to follow. Have tons of fun! And thanks for this Reaction... you were great!

Thanks for your genuine and beautiful Queen reaction! The movie is WONDERFUL! A letter of love to Freddie. Isn't a documentary (there are many to watch...) But have many real and funny facts, as the singular Freddie microfone, haw born We will rock you, his love for Mary... And more .... Much more. Was nominated for 5 Oscars and won 4, including best actor, a Golden globe, a Bafta and many more, success of bill, almost a billion... Bohemian Rhapsody movie is absolutely beautiful, As a huge Queen fan I am for 45 years, (I watch Queen live twice in Rock in Rio 85) I recommend you see the movie...no regrets! Big hug to you darling! ❤👑

I would also watch Under Pressure live at Wembley. I think these would be a good start. Oh, also fat bottom girls live at Milton Keynes.

Brian doesn't perm his hair, it naturally curly, he is still playing now, and although the color has now lightened, it's still as curly. Brian is an incredible guitar player, and he and Freddie played off of each other, Brian often says that he follows Freddie 's vocals with a guitar rendition of his voice. If you listen closely, you can hear it.

You picked a great first live video but if this is your first live video, dude, you've been missing out! Queen is fantastic live and fortunately, they filmed a bunch of their concerts so there is much to choose from. I hope you'll take the journey down the rabbit hole. Queen does not disappoint! Check out Queen's Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow 1974 and Under Pressure live at Wembley 1986, Saturday performance. Eventually, you'll want to do their 20 min Live Aid performance but I think you'll enjoy it more if you watch more live Queen first. When you do their Live Aid performance, you want to do the whole thing at once rather than breaking it up so you can get the feel of what it was like to be there. It truly is something everyone should experience at least once. Also, be careful which video you choose because the one with millions of views actually cuts off the end of the concert. I recommend this one when you get around to it: ua-cam.com/video/ViAuaUds26k/v-deo.html It also has Freddie and Brian's performance later in the evening.

For the ultimate example of Freddie’s crowd control, you should check out:
“UNDER PRESSURE” live at WEMBLEY STADIUM in 1986…
Freddie’s most famous “sing-and-repeat” intro w the audience.
(The LONGER video, NOT the shorter one from Queen’s official channel.)
This “sing-and-repeat” was even used at the 2012 Olympics: Freddie was on GIGANTIC video screens, directing the live audience!

His voice was overdubbed in the movie, to give the best rendition. You're right, he's irreplaceable, although Adam was an excellent fit, a powerful voice, Freddie would have appreciated how Adam took over such a formidable role, as replacing him. Rio de Janeiro provides another live concert to look at. Sadly missed, never forgotten Freddie was, is, and will always be loved. RIP ❤❤

Please don't base your opinion of Freddie and the band on the movie. It has great music in it, but there wasn't a lot that was really accurate. Freddie always kept tea with honey on the piano during full concerts to keep his throat from drying out. The beer bottle was put there as advertising for one of the sponsors, not for the band to drink.

Nice reaction! There are hundreds of Queen live performances because they filmed everything they did live, in addition to their official videos. Freddie absolutely nailed it in this performance, he was feeling it. This is also a great performance for the drummer Roger Taylor you may know his son Rufus Taylor he's the drummer for The Darkness. Also John Deacon playing bass and Sir Brian May on his red special guitar. You're going to enjoy this band. You'll get plenty of song suggestions, they're all great.
