i know u want Goluremi's response but i have recently been in something like this and i can explain how to defend it, so in your case u misjudged the balls projectory and speed, number 1 thing as a goalie is to be able to be ready for every second of the game, never turn your back on the ball, run backwards and always get back to your goals and with enough speed and practice u should in theory save the ball and prevent a halfway line goal or a "POGBOOM" i call them, really practice your distance running and always practice your back saves by literally letting the ball go pass u in practice and making a full effort to save the ball as quickly as possible

That has happened to me once,stay close to the goal as possible and jump when the ball is near you
