If people ask me why I'm still making videos, why decided to start studying Marine Biology, why I want to spend my life researching these animals... It's to show these kind of messages. It's an awesome video and I truly hope it makes a difference! When science and passion converge, it can create something beautiful and worthwhile.
There need to be more Marine Biologists out there. People don't realize how important the ocean is, how quickly it's dying. Marine Biologists barely get paid, too.
I'm obsessed with orcas and sharks. I've read many books about them - Swimming with Orca: My Life with New Zealand's Killer Whales by Ingrid, Death at Seaworld: Shamu and the Dark Side of Killer Whales in Captivity by David Kirby, Into Great Silence: A Memoir of Discovery and Loss among Vanishing Orcas by Eva Saulitis, Beneath the Surface: Killer Whales, SeaWorld, and the Truth Beyond Blackfish by John Hargrove, Killer in the Pool by Tim Zimmermann, Listening to Whales: What the Orcas Have Taught Us by Alexandra Morton and The Devil's Teeth: A True Story of Obsession and Survival Among America's Great White Sharks by Susan Casey. Such magnificent creatures.
I was a child when My family went to SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida. It was 1977. During the performances one of the Orca became angry and refused to perform. I remember Him circling the pool, slamming himself against the wall of the pool. He injured himself, blood tinged the water. They stopped the performance and cleared the stands of people. He kept swimming in circles. It was very sad and very disturbing, and I realized at that point that this was torture for these beautiful animals. It makes me sad to remember it, 45 years later.
Prayers for Morgan, Tilikum, Corky, Lolita and the others captive in aquariums around the world. #CaptivityKills We must keep up the pressure and never give up until they #EmptyTheTanks Thanks Dr Visser and production team for this video.
It's too late for Tili. He died without ever again feeling the ocean's waves, just a cold concrete tank. Small wonder he attacked and killed those women. Let's avenge his death by setting Lolita and all the others free now! We helped Keiko taste freedom already and nursed Springer back to help so she could rejoin her pod after being lost from them for a year dand we must do it again and again until all orca dolphins feel the sea! As we speak now actually, people are negotiating with Miami Seaquarium to rescue Lolita and rehabilitate her in a sea pen in the area where her family lives.
"Better To Light A Candle Than To Curse The Darkness"........I pray for the day I get to see Morgan and Lolita released. God bless you Dr. Ingrid and all the work that you do.
I do feel we can release Lolita. We know her pod and her mother is still but only just alive. I have a really bad gut feeling Lolita is going to di in 2021
Morgan would die if released. You do realise that when she was found, she had been seperated from her pod because she was deafened probably by a military exercise which detonated charges in the sea. If you want to see her released then that's quite cruel. I am not in favour of capturing wild animals for captivity, but I am just as much against people spouting trite without doing the proper research.
This is an incredibly powerful short film, which completely transports the viewer into the real nightmare these Orca's and other captured animals experience! I would love everyone to see this and to appreciate the cruelty people inflict upon these animals! Keep up the good work!
+hannah smith thank you for the kind words and we hope that you will help by sharing the link of Morgan's website (www.freemorgan.org) and the link to this video.
Yes definitely powerful.... And incredibly compelling...Kudos to you Dr. Visser for initiating the evolution of a very important discussion that has been long overdue!!
Dear Dr. Morgan, Thank you for raising awareness of these majestic creatures. For putting your life on the line each time you dive into the sea with free Orca's. For all your effort in rescuing these beautiful animals. Thank you so much. For being you. Warm regards from the Netherlands, Sasha.
+sashaamsterdam these are kind words, thank you. It is a privilege to be able to work with the orca and I wish I could do more. Hopefully this video will help get the word out around the word, about this little orca who was captured off the Netherlands. Thanks for caring.
I have a hard time expressing the emotions I feel when seeing these majestic and gorgeous beings in captivity. It’s heartbreaking what ppl do for money.
I just can’t stop crying , this is truly unbearable… what a heartfelt and beautifully made film is this …! Thank you for making this … And what a disgrace what we humans do to these highly intelligent, sentient , sensitive and socially complex animals. We have no right ! I would like to thank you for all your truly invaluable work and tireless efforts Dr. Visser !
I am really quite inspired by your work. It makes me want to be a marine biologist and speak out against the way SeaWorld and Miami Seaquarium treats their animals.
Great video! It really makes you think about the life of a captive orca from their perspective. Lovely effects and very engaging. Morgan needs her freedom back!
+Alyona Lagunov yes, the team worked hard to to come up with something that was a 'bit different' but still told the tragic story - I think that they have done a great job
@@DrIngridNVisser she can't though. She has a severe hearing deficiency so it would be very difficult for here to recognize vocalizations and communicate.
@@ILaunchNukes I think Dr. Ingrid Visser can make better judgements since she is an orca expert. I've heard that "deaf explanation too, but those were the words coming from our Dutch seaquarium "Dolfinarium". There might not be subtitles but Ive heard the words...
Watching this im ashamed to be Dutch and that we couldnt save Morgan from her Hell Hole but believe me if i say we wont give up on you Morgan, your in the Hearts of thousends of great and loving people. Thank you Dr. Ingrid for all you do for her and all the other captive Sea Angels.
+Jolanda Barendregt , I too am ashamed to have Dutch heritage when I see what the Dutch did to Morgan - and it goes even deeper than the legal side of things, it is the moral and ethical too - shame on the authorities who let this happen and those who did it.
Hello, Ingrid. Just saw you in a small documentary called "inside the tanks" from memory. You're one of my biggest inspirations and I am proud to say I live in a country where no orcas are kept in captivity, (possibly if they are sick. I am from New Zealand (one of the most greenest countries in the world), and I have encounted many wild orca while out kayaking, one of them even let me pat its back and it was the most magical experience! Anyways I love what you're doing, it is so important that we raise these issues. Keep doing what you're doing! (Sorry for any mistakes, I have difficulty writing).
I teach Environmental Science to high school students. We have watched "Blackfish" and I will be showing them this video too! My students love orcas as much as I do. They want to go boycott Seaworld for a class field trip. Orcas are such amazing creatures and the deserve much more than being imprisoned for our 'entertainment!' I was fortunate enough to get to go to San Juan Island and see the Southern Residents. It was incredible! I wish everyone could see these families in their natural habitat! So much better than seeing them in an aquarium!
+H. Parker , wow, your story is very inspiring - please pass on our heartfelt thanks to your students. They are on the right side of history and are helping to change the world.
Good job on feeding young minds propaganda... You are showing them one side of the story, not giving them a chance to understand the full story. You should be banned from teaching! Morgan would have been dead without human intervention... "Seaworld is bad because orca's die there" 100%(!!) of captive orca's released to the wild died shortly after! You are not advocating animal welfare, you are advocating an orca euthanisation program! Not even that, make them suffer first, alone and hungry until they starve to death! Besides, Morgan is deaf... Shows you and Dr. Visser know alot to think a deaf orca would do well in a pod of orca's that is based on vocalisations... might even explain her stranding.
lying piece of manipulative mockumentary blackfish. wild orcas have to go through plastic pollution, pollution in general, noise pollution, overfishing, disease, and habitat destruction
Thank you for all you do for #Morgan Dr Ingrid Visser! Hopefully one day Morgan will feel the ocean again and if she's lucky find her family. #FreeMorgan #OpSeaWorld #Spain
This film is so powerful. I find your work to be incredibly inspiring for me. It is my dream to conquer my ADHD and become an orca biologist and you inspired me to pursue my dream! I hope I can meet you one day Dr. Visser!
I've always been absolutely disgusted with the way these animals are treated but had never thought of it through their eyes. This video opened my eyes to this, so thank you and bless with all the amazing work you and your team does.
+Jessica Santos thanks for your thoughts - we are all glad that our video helped you think about this issue from a new perspective. Please help spread the word by sharing the link. Thanks!
Brilliant work, this is a great depiction of what it is really like for the animals to go from the wild to captivity. A very nicely produced video! Ingrid thanks for the tireless work you put into raising awareness and educating the public.
+Roy Mulder (UWVIDEO1) thanks Roy, high praise coming from someone like yourself who does such hard work too - the team here really valued your comment!
Ever since I was a kid I fell in love with these animals and it pains me to see them bieng used as puppets. The sadness can truly be seen in these beautiful creatures, missing the wild open oceans and most importantly there families. These creatures should be left alone and admired in the wild NOT in a fish tank. If only people could see the hard times these living wonders go through, and the work that people like you are doing for these creatures. God bless you!
Dr Ingrid I always knew that captivity was wrong, but ever since i started watching you, it made me realise the importance and what prison they are in. the worst part is they did nothing wrong. You are an inspiration!!
Even watching back this video as this isn’t the first time I watched it,I tried to put myself in her shoes, whell, tail,I guess. The pov of the orcas swim in in the wild maid me feel happy, and then confusion set in when the stretcher appeared suddenly, and the tapping was so loud and obnoxious. You did a great job!
+Saadya Waheed wonderful, this is exactly what we were hoping for - the more people who share it the more the word spreads - perhaps to someone who had never thought about it from her point of view. thank you.
Hi Ingrid, you inspire me. You have made me fall in love with orcas. Orcas is my passion. I protested for Morgan as I think that captivity is wrong. I also sent a letter to seaworld asking them to free there whales. Thank you so much for helping the world see the right side in where orcas should be, which is there natural home, the ocean. I think that you are amazing and I would love if you where to replie. #FreeMorgan
Excellent. Nobody should even think about visiting Seaworld and institutions alike keeping animals who live in families or are used to wide ranges in captivity. The only thing you can learn there is about human selfishness and ignorance of the needs of other living beings.
I saw Morgan in september. Her behaviour was very odd to say the least, I'm really nervous about her mental state at this point. It broke my heart seeing her like that. I'm so sad that this has been her life for the last four years. I sincerly hope her life will change for the better and soon.
+ForTheLoveOfOrca the only way it will change is people speak up - so please do contact your local politician and explain the situation to them. thank you.
I'll never get tired of sharing this touching, eye-opening video with as many people as possible to help them know about a dreadful reality human beings cause. In so many aspects we have made hell from this planet for every living creature on it... May we human animals who love non-human animals continue volunteering in favour of the latter's Rights. This Universe we have been given to share with so many expressions of the same Mystery of Life deserves our best efforts to honor it. Thank you so so much for your work. Congrats to all the people involved in its making. (Please forgive any mistakes, English is not my native language. Thank you.)
Found your channel through GoPro, watching all your videos and must say what a remarkable individual you are, these beautiful creatures are so lucky to have you. Keep up the good work DR , and just to let you know every day I’m up out of bed and picking plastic and other potential harmful waste from the sea and beech here in the Philippines. Thank you 🙏🏻
Ingrid, I have huge respect and admiration for you and your work to help the orcas. While on one end SeaCruelWorld exploits them and creates negative impact for many animals, you are on the other end creating the positive cataclysm that will eventually be won, through the loving mission to help change the world of orcas and other sea animals. Thank you !
Amazing video!! hopefully as more people see this we will be able to overpower the industries that are treating orcas this way!! It is heartbreaking to think of how terrified they must be being plucked form the ocean! Together we will free them!!
Excellent video Ingrid, raises awareness which is key. If attendance decreases dramatically SeaWorld will have to release them all. The funding for sanctuary sea pens I understand is largely in place, it would not cost SeaWorld anything to release them. The key is for us all whom care to keep educating everyone so no goes, thus no longer profitable. As well to help open people's hearts whom are working at SeaWorld the CEOs in US, Japan and Europe the board members so they start to develop a moral code and greater empathy for other species.
How about all the millions of people who are educated and get fascinated by these animals because of marine parks? That value is larger than anything can ever be. Children, our future generation, need to know about these animals and boring documentaries won't do any of that. Real, face to face experience is what they need! We need marine parks and I will always support them for all the wonderful education and research they provide for both people, their own animals and the animals in the wild!!!!
Finally someone with common sense! But remember, you can't blindly support any marine park. Always be sure to do research, because places like Miami Seaquarium, Moskvarium, Chimelong Ocean Kindgom among others are very bad places where education is nothing and the animals live poorly
I watched your video with GoPro not 10 minutes ago while I was surfing Pinterest on the topic of Orcas and I teared up every time I heard their voices. You are an incredible person. I am 17 and I live in Florida, USA. I feel called to tell you my love for Orcas so I hope you enjoy :). So I had cancer twice and fought from the time I was 2 to 9 years old. And during that time I fell in love with Free Willy, which I think I loved the story so much because I was, in a sense, trapped and in captivity my entire childhood inside the hospital. So a foundation called Make a Wish came to me and wanted to send me on my dream trip of a life time, and I think I was about 3 or 4 at this time, and I said "I want to see Free Willy on a big boat, but they sent me to SeaWorld instead, and I was devastated because the whole point of the movie was to free Willy! well when I think I was about 8 another organization came to me called Little Smiles and they sent me to Seattle, Washington to see Orcas in Puget sound. So there I was, a little kid on a boat with my harmonica in hand anxiously waiting to see some Orcas! Locals hadn't seen any whales for weeks so our captain was weary that we would see any, but by God's grace, we saw 70! 70 whales just happened to take a stroll that would ultimately cross our path! It still is one of my most favorite memories ever and I look up to people like you! P.S. I'm not sure if you get news about SeaWorld in NZ, but they are discontinuing Orcas in captivity, the current ones there are going to be the last generation to live in captivity! Once again you are incredible and there should be more people like you in the world. Sincerely, Joe-Joe Matuella / fellow Orca lover :)
For some reason I can't see the end of your story, but from what I've read you are one brave kid. My iPad only shows up to the part where you say you got to go see the orca in Puget Sound, I hope you got to see them. I took a trip to Seattle but sadly didn't get to see the orca. Just like you I've loved orca from a very young age. Your story is very inspirational thank you for sharing it.
Amazing !! thank you for all you do Ingrid! In another life I'll be you ;) you are a true hero of this world! I admire you so much!!!! best of luck with the Regulations and the movie!!!!
Thank you for your dedication and passion you give to orcas and everyone watching . bless you when will there be more orcas in the wild videos ? I really love to watch you swimming with them !!
It's bad enough for all incarcerated Orcas, but the one in the city where I live is in the very worst environmental conditions. Here at the Miami Seaquarium "Lolita" (formerly called Tokitae) is the same age as me, fifty and has been in that tiny concrete whale bowl by herself at the Seaquarium for 46 years as of this writing. She arrived at the park at 4 years old. Ironically, her tank is only yards away from the ocean which was previously viewable from the seats around her tank. Maybe this is why they added a decorative wall behind her tank; so that people will not make the association as I did that she belongs in the vast ocean. As a kid I was overjoyed to see her, since I've always loved underwater life, especially Orcas. At that time, she shared her tiny concrete bowl with Hugo, another Orca (male) that died from smashing his head on the wall of the concrete repeatedly, I guess out of desperation to get out. In my twenties, I saw Lolita again (Hugo had already passed) and I cried watching her breaching and having to bend her body coming down to avoid hitting the side of the pool. I also remember seeing her from the area below the tank, where one can watch her through the glass. The concrete areas were full of rust, water leaks seemed to be patched up with concrete, there was water all over the floor and you could tell from that perspective that the surface of the pool above is not at all the same size as when you view the concrete pool floor from below which was much smaller in relation due to it's curves like a fish bowl. I hear that underground area is now even closed off, it was in very bad conditions and probably remains so or even worse. No major repairs have been done to date to her tank after so many years. I do miss seeing Lolita very much but people say I shouldn't visit her, to not contribute profit to the Seaquarium, but then how would they maintain the animals if they don't have money from visitors? I would really love to see her again! A very sad, frustrating and confusing situation...
Dan Seabreeze Do not go back there but continue to raise awareness for Lolita, the owner of her continues to keep her even with the constant hassle from outsiders begging him to free her to her pod because he sees far too much money invested in her. If you stop the demand you stop the supply and this will eventually pressure the owner of that aquarium to free her! You are doing more good for Lolita if you never go back there. Protest outside the aquarium to raise awareness to others!
Thank you Dr for all your work for this beautiful mammals..thank you for spreading the awareness across the globe. Let's hope one day all orcas in the captivity will be freed back to ocean.
okay, here is a quick rundown of Morgans true story. she was found in shallow waters off the coast of the Netherlands, less than half the weight a whale her age should be. she was rescued and rehabilitated, brought back to full health. several independent marine biologists and orca experts, as well as government agencies examined her and deemed her non-releasable. it was decided she would be moved to Loro Parque, but because of a court case asking for her freedom, she was kept in her tiny rehabilitation pool, alone, for several more months, instead of being sent to a much larger facility with other orcas. eventually though, she was moved to Loro Parque and integrated into the pod. again, a lawsuit was filed and Loro Parque went to court. during this, Morgan's vocalisations where analysed in an attempt to connect her to a pod. they found a 65% match to a wild pod, but there was a problem. the pod had been seen once, in 2005. no photos or videos where taken, only audio, and the pod hasn't been seen since. it was discovered soon after her arrival to Loro Parque that she wasn't responding to whistle signals. to tests where done and she was found to be almost deaf. they switched the whistle signal for a light. this light is underwater in each pool and by every slide out. they trained this to be used instead of a whistle, on not only Morgan, but the other whales at the park. they did this so she wouldn't be bullied because she got special treatment. she has since integrated into the pod entirely, and is perfectly healthy, apart from her hearing problems. photo's are shown of various rakes, or scrapes on her body, as signs that she is being bullied. but in fact, this happens in the wild. and whales much younger have been seen raked significantly more. for example, this is ten month old calf, J54: bc.ctvnews.ca/polopoly_fs/1.3136724!/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_620/image.jpg Six Year old Fern: assets3.thrillist.com/v1/image/2531505/size/tmg-article_tall.jpg assets3.thrillist.com/v1/image/2531507/size/tmg-article_tall.jpg A calf mere hours old: news.nationalgeographic.com/content/dam/news/2016/07/18/whale_mourns/01_whale_mourn.adapt.1190.1.jpg Pascuala, a rescued orca that was going to go to SeaWorld to be rehabilitated and released, but GreenPeace stopped them from doing so, resulting in the death of Pascuala: news.nationalgeographic.com/content/dam/news/2016/07/18/whale_mourns/01_whale_mourn.adapt.1190.1.jpg Morgan was lucky.
It's no wonder the poor thing tried to commit suicide. I can only imagine what this must have done to her psychologically. This made me cry so much. I can only imagine having been stolen from my home, my friends, and my family. Having those memories making me depressed and lonely. Desperate to escape the small enclosed world that I was forced into. It has to be aweful for her... When I was a kid my dream was to go to Seaworld because I wanted to be able to see the whales that I love so much. I never got to, so I decided to watch a video of their shows on UA-cam. When I did I couldn't believe how miserable the animals were. And it was so obvious that they were all unhealthy, medically as well as psychologically. I remember promising myself that I would never encourage this kind of treatment to any animal. I hope that Seaworld keeps their word and stops breeding and capturing the orcas.
Well done . KEEP RASING THE CONCIOUSNESS OF THE "HUMANS" I HOPE .... ...... FULLY.... that in my lifetime... captivity ends. WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE THIS PLAY ON TV DURING THE SUPER BOWL GAME.
+Debbie Hite if you can get it onto the TV, we would be more than willing to have that happen. Anywhere you can get it screened - in your local theatre, or even on your phone to show someone when you sit next to them at work! thanks for caring
This is so touching. How can people be so heartless and capture these innocent creatures and not see it from the animals point of view? I really hope that one day there will be a complete 100% ban on capturing any type of animal from the wild unless emergency medical treatment is necessary. This video made me cry.
+MrsRonaldo713 - Although less than 5 mins long it was a lot of work to produce this, but we hope you agree that it was worth the wait! we totally agree with you - and hope you will help to spread the word.
Yes I really appreciate the quality and love put into your work. I will never stop spreading the word. The whales need a voice to speak for them and that's where we come in ❤️
I can respect other people's opinions, even if I find my own contrasting, but I wish there is one thing that both sides of the argument can collaborate on: helping the critically endangered populations, such as the Southern Residents. While I admire people's efforts to get their voices heard by places such as SeaWorld and Loro Parque, what are they doing to help the wild pods they adore? I have admired your work for a while, Dr. Visser, and I find what you are doing to spread awareness about the plight these animals face in the wild wonderful. I just wish more people would join that specific cause, regardless of whether they support captivity or not. I've been working to spread the word about the Southern Residents, but I know it's not enough. What can we do?
I agree. Seaworld is undertaking research programs to better understand the effects of noise pollution and chemical pollution on Orcas. However, these are years-long studies. I do NOT see SeaWorld advocating to the government to secure salmon stocks or reduce pollution. SRKW's need help now.
Dear Ingrid, my name is Virginia and I am 13 years old. I have had a passion for sea animals for basically my entire life. But it changed to a entire new level once the movie Blackfish came out. As i watched I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. 4 years ago my mom started explaining how captivity was bad and how parks like seaworld are bad. I was at San Juan for superpod 4 and it was a dream come true to so all the members of blackfish right in front of me. But once you stepped onto the stage I knew that you were amazing. After your speech i was in line to buy a free Morgan shirt and you were behind us (my mom, my aunt, and I) you said that you really liked my sea world sucks shirt and asked where i got it from and my mom started to tell you. all of a sudden my aunt turns around and says "NIKKI THATS INGRID" and my mom and i look up and kind of had a freak out moment. From that day my passion for being a Marine biologist grew and grew. Because I am only 13 i think of all the ways i am able to get information and education to others my age so i created a youtube channel. I know you most likely wont see this but i just really want you to know that you are my hero and you inspire me to keep pushing forward do do the right things. from- Virginia age 13

As much as I'm with this movement, this is life...WE ALL HAVE IT TOUGH IN THIS WORLD.
Stop brainwashing young people, provide them with FACTS (not propaganda material) from both perspectives and let them decide for themselves.
Good job on feeding young minds propaganda...
You are showing them one side of the story, not giving them a chance to understand the full story.
You should be banned from teaching!
Morgan would have been dead without human intervention...
"Seaworld is bad because orca's die there"
100%(!!) of captive orca's released to the wild died shortly after!
You are not advocating animal welfare, you are advocating an orca euthanisation program! Not even that, make them suffer first, alone and hungry until they starve to death!
Besides, Morgan is deaf...
Shows you and Dr. Visser know alot to think a deaf orca would do well in a pod of orca's that is based on vocalisations... might even explain her stranding.
i dont care if they saved every animal in the world orca captivity is wrong and saveing animals has nothing to do with captivity@Angelina Milillo
lying piece of manipulative mockumentary blackfish. wild orcas have to go through plastic pollution, pollution in general, noise pollution, overfishing, disease, and habitat destruction
Thank you for all you do for #Morgan Dr Ingrid Visser! Hopefully one day Morgan will feel the ocean again and if she's lucky find her family.
#FreeMorgan #OpSeaWorld #Spain
very interesting from Morgan's POV
Thanks!
then turn around
Poor baby. This is a really powerful video and message. Thank you, Doctor.
just learned of your work dr. visser. one of the great tragedies of our time. thanks for all you do.
Thank you Dr. Ingrid for this video, please keep doing the work your doing. I'm advocating you all the way I hope to shake your hand one day.
Dr Ingrid
I always knew that captivity was wrong, but ever since i started watching you, it made me realise the importance and what prison they are in. the worst part is they did nothing wrong. You are an inspiration!!
Thanks! I wish all people who are going to visit a dolphinarium could see this.
Powerful and absolutely compelling.
So moving. The difference between freedom and captivity is brilliantly done. Thank you.
You did a great job!
wow great video! I will share for sure
#FreeMorgan
Absolute sheer hell for such beautiful creatures. My heart shatters😭
We are avid scuba divers and have a great appreciation for marine life. This is a fantastic video. I will share it!
Keep doing what your doing your 1 of a kind we need more people like you in this world....
Very powerful Dr Ingrid hope capativity comes to an end soon
Thank you.)
Set MORGAN and all 56 other incarcerated orcas FREE!
This video deserves so many more views!!! Very powerful. Thank you.
Heartbreaking.. So glad changes have been made in Canada
This is 4 of the most powerful minutes in all of film. Wow. Just wow.
Beautiful video Ingrid thanks but it makes so sad I can’t imagine being taken from family & being so alone & scared it just breaks my heart!!
great video I pray more people become aware
This video just broke my heart :(
Beautifully made and so heartbreaking. Morgan, we will get you home! The world is fighting for you! Sharing this video on my fb page J16 Slick
+Lindsey lindseywebster , yes, wouldn't it be lovely if we could tell Morgan herself how hard people fight for her?
saludos desde México. Admiro tu labor y dedicación Dr. Ingrid
a truly refreshing view on this subject. No diologue, just images, sounds, and feelings; the language of orca.
+Carolyn H indeed, that was the idea. it worked well to raise emotions. thanks for the feedback.
+Dr Ingrid N. Visser My pleasure. Thank you!
Very good way of showing what captivity is like from the whales point of view.
Such a tragic situation.
Awesome work like allways. Allways, when someone asked, what I would like to be in a next life, my answer will allways be "An Orca in freedom"
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you Dr Visser. It's a great idea to make this from her point of view. Thought provoking. I will be sharing widely
This is incredibly powerful and never fails to give me goosebumps. Thank you.
THANK YOU for posting this perfect film. Compassion and Empathy on maximum.
( I got salty water in my eyes too )
Ingrid, I have huge respect and admiration for you and your work to help the orcas.
+Ellen White we like the way you think! - and yes, we hope that more people will see it - so please help by spreading the message - thanks!
The shots in the beginning of this video were just stunning!!
Huge fan of your work
In this Moment I am ashamed to be a human! Let her free!
Always be sure to do research, because places like Miami Seaquarium, Moskvarium, Chimelong Ocean Kindgom among others are very bad places where education is nothing and the animals live poorly
makes me cry :'(
I'm sharing that video
I love your work Dr. Ingrid. There need to be more people doing what you are.
I live in the Netherlands and is have seen Morgan its like she was crying😭, FREE MORGAN💪.
Thank you for your dedication and passion you give to orcas and everyone watching . bless you when will there be more orcas in the wild videos ? I really love to watch you swimming with them !!
belle video qui représente l'homme a vouloir tout diriger, controler, a ses fins personnelles.
I really want to go and start yelling in middle of the show
"Free the whales!!!!!!"

Amazing way of putting this perspective in a video. Very very powerful. More people should see this.
This is heart wrenching to watch especially how you done it coming from there eyes 😢
okay, here is a quick rundown of Morgans true story.
she was found in shallow waters off the coast of the Netherlands, less than half the weight a whale her age should be. she was rescued and rehabilitated, brought back to full health. several independent marine biologists and orca experts, as well as government agencies examined her and deemed her non-releasable. it was decided she would be moved to Loro Parque, but because of a court case asking for her freedom, she was kept in her tiny rehabilitation pool, alone, for several more months, instead of being sent to a much larger facility with other orcas. eventually though, she was moved to Loro Parque and integrated into the pod. again, a lawsuit was filed and Loro Parque went to court. during this, Morgan's vocalisations where analysed in an attempt to connect her to a pod. they found a 65% match to a wild pod, but there was a problem. the pod had been seen once, in 2005. no photos or videos where taken, only audio, and the pod hasn't been seen since. it was discovered soon after her arrival to Loro Parque that she wasn't responding to whistle signals. to tests where done and she was found to be almost deaf. they switched the whistle signal for a light. this light is underwater in each pool and by every slide out. they trained this to be used instead of a whistle, on not only Morgan, but the other whales at the park. they did this so she wouldn't be bullied because she got special treatment. she has since integrated into the pod entirely, and is perfectly healthy, apart from her hearing problems. photo's are shown of various rakes, or scrapes on her body, as signs that she is being bullied. but in fact, this happens in the wild. and whales much younger have been seen raked significantly more.
for example, this is ten month old calf, J54:

Morgan was lucky.
This video made me cry.
wounderful work and very powerful
Tears, so many tears. :(
Congratulations on the Audience Choice Award - hoping that this gets Morgan's message out to many more people!
Very powerful message
That put things into perspective
I wish to see Morgan go home to her family in my lifetime, if anything at all
This is so sad :( such a master piece that captures the cruelness of captivity. Stripping an intelligent animals freedom away should be illegal!
I've been waiting for you to post something and so glad you did!!!! This was powerful no whale should be made to suffer!!!!
That's fair enough I suppose. The SRKW do need help immediately, but so few people are acting as their voice.
This video is just wow- Shocking, it helps to connect, it's amazing. THANK YOU
Great video ❤️ thanks for fighting for her!!!
I'm crying
So sad to see these beautiful creatures confined to a cell!😞
I want to be a marine biologist and study cetaceans focusing mainly on orcas and other delphindae. I'm writing a paper on orcas and the different subtypes.
It’s a nightmare 😔. Free Morgan ❤️❤️❤️
Just so terribly heartbreaking💔
Wow. This was really well made.
Thank you for posting
