With my first pregnancy, my girlfriends got together at my house and threw a freezer meal party. I bought the supplies, and they assembled the meals all afternoon, telling me to relax and enjoy the ladies day. It was such a sweet idea and brought us even closer. ❤

Hi Mandy. How sweet to make these meals for the new mama. I "got into" making freezer meals for my elderly mother and step-father because they were not impressed with Meals on Wheels! I loved being able to make them meals for their freezer and I just portioned the meals for "dinner for two!" Hugs.
I make a version of that Swiss Cheese Chicken. Instead of mixing milk with the soup, I mix in white wine. Then I season it with thyme and pepper. I'll occasionally add mushrooms to the dish (under the swiss cheese). ~ Anastacia in Cleveland

My Costco here in California has already cooked, boneless & skinless shredded rotisserie chicken, vacuumed sealed in the meat dept. SO MUCH EASIER THAN buying a chicken & doing it yourself.

Honestly, I love 99% of the recipes you share. The only ones I haven't tried are for dishes that I have never been a fan of, like chili. Very nice of you to think of her and her situation. Noone did that for me when my kids were born in the mid 80's. I hope you know that you can throw those 2 chicken carcasses in a large pot and add some aromatics and simmer for hours to make the best bone broth. You just keep adding water and cook all the collagen and goodness out of those bones. It's so easy and then you are not wasting anything.

Hey Mandy, if you place a piece of parchment paper on the dish before the foil, you wouldn't even have to take anything off. All you'd (or whomever) would need to do is thaw & bake or just pop it into the oven just like that. My 2 cents for the day. 😊 P.S. What a thoughtful thing to do for someone. That's lovely!❤

I’m an only child & live in GA, so when I visit my dad in NC every month I usually have a cooler bag full of meals I’ve made/frozen to take to him, it’s been helpful knowing he’s eating well since my mom passed about 4 years ago. Thanks! We tried the pesto chicken tortellini (Yummy). The only thing I couldn’t tell about it was if you used frozen or dry? We used fresh from Costco and added a 1/2 cup of water to the Alfredo and it came out great.
Yes, this is a God send when you can’t find the energy and you’ve got babies or when sick. Some of my neighbors & friends took turns bringing us meals when I was going through cancer surgeries and chemo. It was such a blessing. So now when my family or friends need help, We love to help. ❤️🙏💪🤗
Mandy, your friend will appreciate it so much!!! I don’t know If you!ve ever been on the receiving end, but having been there myself, & meals are so greatly appreciated! When I had my last baby by C-section, I was having complications so the Doctor put me on bed rest for a month. One of my friends from our Church coordinated meals for us for the entire time. My 2 boys were 4 & 2 & my daughter was not only a newborn but she had Down Syndrome & required extra care. Those meals were such a blessing. I couldn’t believe how kind everyone was. All of the meals were family friendly & great comfort food. I called everyone who contributed & asked for their recipes. We still make them to this day & have used them to help other people In need. Here’s a tip for getting the moisture out of frozen spinach. Either thaw it or use the microwave (most have a thaw function). Once thawed, do the following over a sink or large bowl. Place the entire amount In a clean kitchen towel, hold the bottom & twist it at the top. Also squeeze the bottom. This method removes the moisture very well. PS it’s nice to do a breakfast as a meal gift. I’ve done that for people who’ve had a death In their family. Then the morning of the service they don’t need to do anything except put it In the oven If it requires that.

I make the swiss cheese chicken with cream of broccoli or cream of celery soup. Don't care cream of chicken.
