Granted the new Great One is awesome, but I really wish that they waited till maybe a later update to release it. Revontuli Coast almost feels irrelevant now
Just a lot of people don't like shooting bird a crazy amount. I like to do it to change things up. But I'm almost always hunting bigger game. Although turkeys I love to hunt lol
No i agree its so annoying i really want to go explore it and get a bunch of diamond birds as well as some cool Lynx, but i feel like i need to get this black bear before i can do that :(
Thanks man, this was super helpful! I was getting a little discouraged that some of my zones stopped spawning males, thought maybe I was doing something wrong. After watching this, I now know that that's normal! I feel re-inspired! Back to the grind for me!
As of seeing this now, I have turned my grind into a shoot every bear I see. I also am not exclusively hunting bears. I start at revontuli to hunt whitetail and moose between 10:00-15:00, then I hunt the bears than coyotes from 20:00-00:00. It’s a ton of fun to rotate species in a given hunt
Definitely will be checking out the lakes on this guide. Unfortunately, the one lake where you say there are a lot of males turned out to be a predominantly female lake for me. I will have 2, maybe 3 males. The rest are all females. So I will be checking the other lakes to see if one of those turns out to be a mostly male lake for me. I have also noticed a few of my bear zones are disappearing, and not due to overhunting pressure. So, not sure what to do about that.
Hey Flinter, I'm newish to COTW and haven't grinded for an animal. I've just hunted drink zones and done missions. Would you be able to either make a video or comment under this on tips for grinding. For example, how far to place tents, where to place tents, tripod position and general tips. Thank you in advance!
Thank you for this video! Definitely using it on my grind! Might be a good idea to hunt both times. I seen killclynton shoot a 9 that drank in the morning but not at nighy
Flinter love your content it’s so great but I do have one question I have killed so many animals and especially on sliver ridge peaks and am level 29 and still have not found any diamonds at all none just a bunch of level 4s and 8s and my friend killed his first bestie ibex and it was a diamond so idk what to do do you know any tips ?!
Diamonds are all random and about rng at the end of the day. Also some maps tend to have “easier” diamonds. For instance some ibex are the easiest diamonds to get keep shooting the males and a diamond will appear or switch it up and hunt some other maps. 😄
Oh no ☹️ idk if it will help but Kyla’s zone was the same and she literally killed every bear and I’m assuming it switched spots with them bc next run she had more males but they were at the zone later
So in a few of your videos I have seen you absolutely butcher need zones on this grind, and you did talk a little about it but I wanna clarify whether it is good or not to delete zones, honestly I think my biggest problems with great one grinding have been hunting pressure I typically use stands but they always end up getting deleted anyway 😂 Any tips?
Question: Can you get a great one on multiple maps? So have one on Layton and on Mississippi? Been hunting these two map a bit thinking better chance of coming across a whitetail or blackbear since they are both on them maps.
Definitely!. It's not a 1 per person kinda deal. It's all about the spawns/respawns. If you want to grind it, you'll get it on any map that has black bear (eventually).
It’s gotta be somewhere, just in a different zone, probably one you haven’t gotten yet. Check all the lakes you can and at different times during the drink zones
The lake you say is the best on SRP has NO males for me I’ve run back and forth on this lake and no males at all and even tried to hunt at different times so I’m confused
not everyone's map is the same, that's why making guides is difficult. just because one person has animals at one area doesn't mean it's the same for all. I've heard bears are in there zones late. run you lakes towards the end of the drink times. you'll find males .
I'm not one who grinds for Great One's, my philosophy is that whether I am in single player or multi-player I find it much more exciting happening upon a GO than grinding for one and getting burnt out. Case in point! Just before the recent reset for Reventuli Coast, I was on a multi-player server and I ended up bagging a GO Whitetail on the eastern side of the map on Layton Lakes. Now bearing in mind I was not hunting whitetail at the time (I was hunting for diamond yotes.) and while spotting zones for coyotes I came across herd of white tail and in that herd I ended up spotting and bagging that GO, to me this makes it much more exciting than grinding for them. Again! I wasn't hunting whitetail it was completely random and stroke of luck and with enough time and effort you WILL come across GO's it just may take a little longer than people who grind. Stay frosty my fellow hunters!
This is off topic but does anybody have any tips for the Layton Lakes mission “Late night with the dogs” where you have to kill two coyotes at night in the bottom right corner of the map.
Thank you so much for this amazing video like always!! One question, should i kill the females? Or it dont matter? Im thinking about if females takes up spawning place for males.
Can you explain how to make respawns, bc when i exit to the menu or reset the time, they dont spawn. I have checked every other lakes in the area. How do you make them respawn?
Animals respawn almost instantly upon death, occasionally they will be in the same area, but it's possible they move around as well. just gotta keep searching brother
@@idkbruhimhigh Thx, but have tried to search at other lakes and stuff. When I reset the time 6 times i got some respawns with some lakes, but not many
I've stopped hunting one of my spots cause I've shot two male bears and lost them because they fall in the water and there's no way to claim them when they do
Fast travel to the nearest outpost and come back to that spot and they should be spawned outside of the water. Had the same issue the other day and that worked for me
gotcha my bro, the only two green ones he has circled are the two small ones on the bottom left. all the rest are yellow, and guessing you're good for red
Granted the new Great One is awesome, but I really wish that they waited till maybe a later update to release it. Revontuli Coast almost feels irrelevant now
Revontuli is awesome for people who still like to treat this game as a hunting simulator, “grinding” need zones doesn’t interest me
Just a lot of people don't like shooting bird a crazy amount. I like to do it to change things up. But I'm almost always hunting bigger game. Although turkeys I love to hunt lol

Very helpful guide! I just picked up a cinnamon female at a lake I was skipping!
got mine 200 kills in. considering it took me 6500 for the whitetail i'm very grateful lol
Great guide! My personal favourite 2 drink zones are in the bottom right corner outside of the reserve :D

I love your videos so much man thanks for these incredible tips
good tips nice one flinter
Hey man, thanks for the advice. Just wanted to know what weapon’s do you recommend?
I got an initial spawn great one black bear that was my first great one
My maps the exact same tbh I get atheist 6-8 males off that lake and consistently 4 on the other
Shot my first diamond black bear last night. Actually my first diamond ever! After 318 hours of gameplay
Hopefully you get this one faster than your other two
Hope so or at least faster than the red deer! 😅 that one was rough.
Good video fellow Pa dude

I keep forgetting they have an earlier drink time, I should check those out
Awesome Guide really inspiring!!! Should I continue to only shoot 3 bears max at a time to not destroy zones or kill as many as possible?
I've always had at least on random bear at sun sisters since forever lol it's always felt weird lol
Great Video Flinter. I am doing Great One grind to.
Nice job with the videos keep up the good work
Wonderful guide thanks
Just got my first diamond it was a whitetail buck I killed on Layton lakes
Flinter, have you found any bear hotspots on layton yet? Ive only found 2 zones around balmont and I'm having a difficult time lol.

Layton lake drink time for WTD is now 8 and there’s bucks all over the big lakes. I’m no longer going to grind on rancho
Top ten spot for mule deer in silver ridge peaks?

So, Ive been walking around on that map for 2 days now....and didnt even see a single hint of a bear.
Did they remove bears from this map?
Amazing video man. That helps a lot. Also what are the rare fur types for brown bear. I don't know them.
Albino and melanistic pretty much are the only 2 rares that I’m aware of

And the other maps hotspots like layton or Missisipi?
Hey man, do you write out what you say in videos like this one? Like a script?
For guides I do, yes. 😅 I don’t want to forget any relevant information
I’ve killed a piebald and Melanistic and haven’t killed a Diamond yet!
Are there any known bugs regarding GO blackbear despawning? I spotted one after accidentally deleting my zone and I haven’t seen it since

When hunting pressure builds up how do you get rid of it if you keep visiting the same lakes
Shoot some turkeys
You will have to hunt other lakes to get rid of pressure, but to reduce pressure at that lake use hides stands or blinds
Exactly as pierce said, definitely hunt in other areas and get rid of the pressure and use the blinds, tripods if you have them

Which pixel do you have to shoot to kill a mountain lion?
On greatone grind and these lions are glitched out shots are going through the body 99% of the time
Is 500 black bear kills and no trophies normal
How far away do the tents have to be for them to not get spooked
I place mine about 200-250 meters
