About the Mister Donut thing, the founder was actually Dunkin' Donuts' founder's brother-in-law. When they broke partnership, he went and founded Mister Donut and in the 80s it became Dunkin' Donuts' largest competitor. Then in 1990, Allied-Lyons, Dunkin' Donuts' parent companty at that time, acquired Mister Donut and every branch in North America was offered to be converted to a Dunkin' Donuts. Currently, both Dunkin' and Mister Donut are owned by Inspire Brands since 2020. Inspire Brands also owns Arby's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic Drive-In, Jimmy John's, and Baskin-Robbins. Mister Donut only has one store left in the US on 2720 Grovelin Street, Godfrey, IL. Other than that they operate in El Salvador, Indonesia, Japan, Nigeria, Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand, with the last being the biggest market second to only Japan.
