what's interesting is that the party actually has 30000 hp (in the base game), 130 atk, 120 def, 350 atkspd and drop 6000 XP (as seen in the vid), which are both somewhat reasonable as boss stats, despite them being unkillable. but MDP, another unkillable enemy, has 999999 HP, 10 in every stat (except atkspd which is 150), and drops 0 EXP. this leads directly into my Theory (you might even call it A GAAAAME THEORY, if you're feeling silly): what if at some point in development, it was intended for the main party to be killable? when insertdisc developed the MDP fight, we can assume (based on MDP's stats) that they knew it wouldn't be killable. but maybe, when developing vs friends, insertdisc thought "hey, what if you could KILL THEM and they DIED in AGONY", so they gave the party reasonable stats. but after insertdisc dropped the idea, there was no reason to change the party's stats because it was impossible to kill them before the fight ended normally, so their stats were left untouched for the remainder of development. thank you for coming to my ted talk. also LONGFRIN REVEAL AT 1:30 AAAAAAAAA
@@jksdafajsfadfa7936 I think they're referring to the fact that the party keeps talking even though they literally just disappeared from view, and the fact that that's been happening the entire trek through the house in act 5
fun fact: fights ending on a cutscene legally count as "escaping" the battle, which is the same as a loss condition - in this case, probably the exact same thing would happen if Siffrin were to somehow die in the fight. However, Siffrin wouldn't be able to die even if you set them to 5hp, because the (Don't Attack.) skill actually scales off their max HP, thus dealing percentual damage, instead of scaling off their attack. For this fight, Siffrin's stats are actually kinda all over the place, even if you can't see it. Probably because their stats here are entirely irrelevant, so Adrienne did not put any effort into it.
So weird thing to compare this to but if you happen to hack the pokemon games and manage to throw a pokeball and catch a trainers pokemon it'll end the fight as if you've won the battle. So im assuming no matter how you end the fight it'll always lead to the falling scene because the fight ending IS the win state.
I am still curious what the deal with Siffrin's memories. Does she uses memory craft or it's unique magic not even tied to craft system which she got for constantly trying to defy memory loss? If you don't equip Memory of Self you will forget some loops, so I guess the Memory Magic have a price of memories. Maybe MM is a side effect of being enchanted by Wish craft? We never know if she could enchance others with memories before loops...
She is pretty explicitly the only pronoun Siffrin doesn’t use but to your question, he’s from the forgotten country, meaning that like a stupid amount of their memories, their entire 25-29 years of life before the game starts, his childhood, friends and family, culture, language, schooling, etc is completely erased from their memory! The dev has stated this was due to a wish but won’t elaborate further on who wished for the country to disappear and why, but his memory loss is from both the effects of that wish and the intense trauma resulting from such a loss of identity and connection to everyday life that messed their brain up further
how on earth did you get she pronouns out of the game 😭 all of the characters pronouns are quite literally in the game and said out loud to you via loop
@@melissam6931 The comment was about the power to equip Memories with specific effects (to himself and all party members), not about them forgetting the country; though, it is very possible that the ability is in some way related to their missing memory. While the Memories do last through Loops, they're probably not directly tied to them, since each party member's base memory is available before the Favor Tree, which is when the wish that caused loops to happen was made.
@@trondordoesstuff Upon rereading it you're totally right, thanks for pointing that out! It gets a bit confusing when there's both "memory" as an intrinsic aspect of the game, and "memory" as a game mechanic hahaha.

Ooooo 6000xp! Nice
That means each of them would be worth about 1500 xp if defeated
