John Clay "The Ballad of Spider John" Live At Chicago Music Exchange | CME Sessions

- Guitarist John Clay stopped by the showroom recently with his good friend Colter Wall (goo.gl/GOE4rM) for a visit, and we were lucky to have him swing by our video studio for a #CMESession. What resulted was some serious Kentucky-fried singer-songwriter magic-including this Willis Alan Ramsey cover-and this Gibson SJN Country Western Natural 1956 certainly did the session justice!
Raised on the music of Dwight Yoakam, Steve Earle and many more, John Clay has since developed his own brand of good old fashioned, honest country that's taking the Nashville scene by storm. Check out his latest album, "Now It's Time" (goo.gl/nlqMUU) for more, and stay tuned for more exclusive Clay takes from the CME confines.

Is the there a ballad for Spiderman?
NijaBoiTellEm There was one for Superman.
John Koerner?
Ani Invi I’m not sure if Willis was specifically writing about John Koerner, but he was definitely part of the Texas scene when John was stompin’ around...so it makes since that the song could’ve at least been inspired by him.
second
why is it that all the best songwriters are from texas?
yeah, exactly.
Willis is from Alabama
@@bradlawley13 he was raised in dallas and calls dallas home... although i don't begrudge you his bama birth, because i love bama, the state, although i've had enough of saban.
willis didn't write "northeast alabama women"...
