A few months ago my friend and musician Ravi G called me and asked, "do you know nannu vidachi?" I said yes, and asked him why? He said "just record it with tambura and send it to me, let's work on something together." Even though we've been friends for years, it was surprising that we had never worked on anything together before this. What started off as a casual conversation became a project that grew to include many other fantastic musicians and artists.
A big thanks to Ravi G, Sayee Rakshith, Sounds of Isha, Ishit Kuberkar, and Rajeev Mukundan.
Yes, the same Rajeev Mukundan who a lot of you might know as a violinist whom I often sing with. But you may not know that he is also an incredibly talented illustrator/animator. I floated an idea by him about doing dynamic artwork for a Carnatic based music video. He immediately sent me some ideas and I'm really excited for how it turned out.

In my quest of finding best piece of musical work in Reetigowla,I got to hear this song accidentally few days ago in UA-cam.. no choice of words to express my feelings about this song..Hats off to the entire team...Ravi G, Sandeep Narayan, Sayee Rakshith, Rajeev Mukundan and Sounds of Isha.. The concept of Carnatic-western fusion for this Reetigowla composition of Sri Tyagaraja is amazing. The lyrical meaning of the song is beautifully emoted..The slow Tempo of the song is ornamented with beautiful percussion beats (Nagara), the originality or nativity of carnatic style is not compromised a bit in vocal rendering of Sandeep. The violin has played dual role in traditional Carnatic style as accompaniment and as Solo in Western symphony style in BGM
Along with Piano (keys), it has created magic in BGM. Finally I loved the concept of Animation..deeply engrossed musicians in woods..where Rama is showing his appearances in the backyard.. It somehow depicts my own understanding about music, as a medium which connects ones soul with God..

I was hearing to this daily when I was pregnant..Even now, My six months old needs only this song to console herself,to take a nap,to be fed... she loves it alot!!!!
