contact and opporunity should just be one and the same so frustrating. Can easily just add a "job" to a contact with its specific fields. That you can pull from facebook lead forms, you can fwd via emails etc. The way they did this is so frustrating
I posted a similar version of this question on another video: Per this video and workflow you created, can custom fields from the contact be updated to custom fields in an opportunity? For example, a property address, so to not have to jump back and forth to see the info.

Can you use opportunity custom fields in automation? Because when I try do so, whatever the value I want to send appears as "undefined" or Blank
