Hi. My 2021 residence Visa is under processing. My situation is, I resigned from my current employer and planning to depart NZ. I Hold a Work to Residence Visa under LTSSL (valid til 2024). Will that affect my application?

Well you have until 30 July 2022 to apply, so that should be more than enough time. Though, I'm sure you'll want to apply for the masses do in phase 2 on 1 March 2022.

@@ImmigrationNZLaw I'm getting my new passport in Jan so will apply then, just frustrating because my original work to residence application has been in since March 2020 so thus should have never been a issue In the first place. Now people that didn't qualify before are getting residence before me. Anyway, it is what it is. Merry Christmas Arren😊
Great info as always! If we apply to RV21 based on an ESWV and leave the country without an exact return date (waiting for RV21 to be approved), the ESWV would remain no longer valid, so how it will work towards the RV21 in-process?
Hi Herman,
The ESWV would still be valid, but it wouldn't allow you to enter NZ until the border reopened. Once the RV21 has been applied for, there is no requirement to remain on an eligible visa, just that you remain lawful if in NZ. If you aren't in NZ then there is no need to retain a visa, just that you would be risking being able to re-enter for a while (and, if it is somehow declined, you'd have no right to enter). So we're suggesting caution to people looking at leaving.

Do you know if there are/will be separate queues form each stream of settled, skilled, scarce or is it all just one big queue? Thanks again for your videos and updates, they really do help. Some people are so lucky .. they can apply and leave the country . I applied on 13th eb 2020 and left NZ on 13th October 2020 and my WTR residency is placed on offshore queue ... No idea if it will be processed or my visa will expire here in offshore ...
Merry Christmas in advance, is it true that new Zealand has extending their border opening plans for tourists , we were expecting it by April

They haven't announced border opening dates. They suggested that things would start to open, with a staggered approach, from 30 April, but with this new delay to Australian access until the end of February, we can't see that approach continuing without delays.

There's still no official confirmation of the info that people who applied for RV2021 can leave NZ while their visa is under review, is that correct?
It's mentioned in www.immigration.govt.nz/about-us/media-centre/news-notifications/update-for-resident-visa-applicants-offshore though not clearly. So that backups the Knowledge Base 25066 statement.
That's for applications received before the border closures in 2020, nothing about RV2021. When I called INZ the day I saw this video they told be they know nothing about that i.e. the person told me leaving NZ would affect visa progressing. Knowledge base statement is something internal to advisers, right? Is that possible that time they just were not aware of that change yet? Worth call then again?

There is a very limited number of 400 pilots, 300 bachelor or higher, and 300 diploma level. That's all for now. Semester 2 may be a possibility for more.
