As a person who never spoke a single sentence in english till the age of 20, I know your struggle, but my journey is completely different than you. Since I completed my undergraduate in a foreign country where there are no native speakers, I learnt to speak english gradually. My lecturers were damn good in english and were able to converse fluently, therefore I used to pay lots of attention in first two semesters to understand what they were saying and processed in my brain to understand. I also used to watch english videos from native speakers and used opportunities quite well to converse with my foreign friends in english. This approached helped me a lot. I never had much problem in understanding americans ; the reason could be I watch lots of educational videos released by americans and learnt english gradually from non native speakers. I'm doing my MS in UK now. [ Following part of this comment is subject to edit becasue I dont want any of my friend to guess me. I hope you understand akka. ] , By the way, if you don't mind, Could you please give me the link of the ring (I think platinum) you wear on your left hand ? How much does it cost ? What is the stone on that ring ? I want to see the EXACT DESIGN (at least pls give me a google image link to see that design ). Planing to buy it for my future wife (by the way, not married yet and dont even know who will be my fut wi 😜😜😜😜😜). lol...

When you study engineering (BE), you can take IT or CSE department. Software engineering will be one of the subjects but that is not the only one. Also you don't specialize in undergraduate.

I don't know any recruitment site who sends you abroad. My experience is this: First you need to get a job in India and then they will send you onsite to other countries for work. We need a work permit or visa to work in other countries. There might be consultancies who do this but I don't know any.

M.S is Master of science which is equivalent to doing M.E in India. AFter doing the Bachelor's degree, people opt for M.S. It is higher studies. Do you want to know what are the courses to study in MS or just WHat is M.S?

Depending on the job and the company you get placed in.
You are right most definitely esp in USA which probably looks down on Tamil . But my view is that learning an additional language is always a plus. These days one needs to know at least 5 to be " international" so to speak. I regret not learning Tamil in a formal way since my late mum spoke Tamil and a smattering of English and local standard Malay which she picked up here. I lost a deeper connection with my mother . Right now I cant get my old job in my sector since I cant speak and write Chinese. Actually, it's a way to filter out the non-Chinese since major bussinesses and MNCs here in Malaysia are owned by them. Some require Japanese. Thanks for video.

I studied in english medium up to college. But don't know to speak in english bcax of no communication with english people and shy of speaking with english people. I speak tamil and hindi bcax of my career purpose. But I don't know hindi to write and read, have career with north Indian people. I understand that U r mes is correct mam.

Hello sir, India has wonderful opportunities too. If that's what your son wants to pursue, then it's good. Biotechnology is a great field. Ask him to apply to healthcare companies like pfizer, (Pharma companies, medical devices). They are all over the world and so their divisions may be in India. if he wants to work in IT field, then there are lot of companies in chennai, coimbatore and bangalore where he can apply. I hope this answers your question.

Sure. Frankly speaking, Tamil is my mother tongue and so I speak faster. Whereas English is not my 1st language and so I speak slower. Also when we speak in English, we speak with slang and so it is tough for other people from other countries to understand. So they always recommend speaking slowly.
Very nice ... in fact , soon NLP ( IBM WATSON ot its variations ) enabled digital services might remove this issues with Language.. when i was student in Madras Institute of Technology, we had created PDA ( personality development association ) and in that key focus was to make rural students ( like me) to handle meeting, discussion, writing etc with English.. I think PDA still alive in MIT chrome pet campus ... But, if we look back that was foundation for many to launch them in to Global job market with ease ... I wish each college in TN has similar to PDA. Yes on the contrary, during IIT Bombay days, i was part of making IIT B students to get along with rural life ( Group for Rural activities ..GRA .. still this is alive in IITB ). it looks interesting with your example of English in TN and Tamil in USA. .. In the above PDA made Rural student embed him/her in Urban life but in IIT B , GRA had impact ( not on all IIT B students) n urban students to understand rural life ( this was made to innovate tech for Rural India work flow) ... nice to listen to your advice in the above ..thanks a lot

Hi Kavitha, valid question. Sure let me explain what I know:
1) It is not a must here to wear a thali chain. Usually, to know someone is married, they wear rings in their left hand
2) I used to wear my thick thali chain when I got married and I wore it for a year. People at work used to ask me whether I am not scared wearing that thick gold chain as it may not be safe.
3) My mother-in-law made a small thali chain and gave it to me. I wear it every day and I take it off during exercising. In this video, I didn't wear it but most of the other videos I do. It is a regular chain and I wear it and remove it as I please :)
This is my reason for not wearing a chain every day. But others may have their own reasons.

They say culture keeps changing. But tamil is our identity. You can be in anywhere in the world and speak so many languages. But learning tamil or not is one's personal choice. No one can force anyone. It would be good if all tamils learn tamil and speak tamil.

You can study whatever you want. That is not a problem at all. What is your interest? I did my computer studies and so I started working on computers. If you are interested in computers, you can start studying that. I don't know much about the courses and classes in Germany. Ask your friends or ask for any college close-by. I hope this helps.
