I've always liked these little cars! In my small prairie home town, you still see Sunfires, Grand Ams everywhere. I personally owned a 2003 Alero untill over 300k clocked on it. Only had to sell the car because sensors in the motor started to fail one after another. But i want another little daily driver.
The very first car I bought was a Victory Red, 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. bought it in 2006 and named it SheDevil, and she has been a rental car prior to me buying her. I LOVED THIS CAR!!! She had about 110,000 miles when I sold her in 2016 and bought my first Mercedes. It was so hard to see my SheDevil go!
This sounds (engine wise) exactly like the 05 model with the main difference being that the 05 model had a sunroof and the controls were different slightly to this version, at least the 05 we had and it lasted me and my family a solid decade even though it did have problems like a piston giving out in the original engine, and the idler belt going whilst I was driving on the highway to work, from what I can remember . I don’t want to sound negative but I’m just lazy. The sunfire is a pretty solid car and it’s fairly fun to drive.
Its hard to find a Sunfire that hasn't been beaten into the ground.....Especially the coupes. Mainly because a lot of them are raced and driven hard......they're very good reliable cars. If you're interested in getting one make sure its 2003-2005 because those models have the better EcoTec engine.
Also I have had 2 different Sunfire's and seem to have much better luck with them when they've been owned by a woman. Woman tend to take much better care of their cars overall with maintenance.!
They are ok if don't have quad motor n aren't from cold state cause if they are they are junk will be all rotted out under the plastic trim n underneath in back where have to get up in air to see it.
