    You said the first address is 1. Is that the first address on the universe, is it the dmx address of the physical light, or both? You also said the first spot address was 21, how do you know this? Could you have put the spots on universe 1 behind the studio commands?

      First question- answer is yes to both. In this example, the physical light's address is 1.
      Regarding first spot address- I would know it is 21 based on what the light's physical address was. This was all hypothetical scenarios. Yes, the spots can also go in universe 1. There's no rule about where different types of lights need to go, as long as there is room for the required channels still available in that universe and you don't overlap addresses.
