This is why his fucking career was garbage 2008-2017, because we don't love no fucking long term pay off especially when there was never a pay off in the first place! It was more of you doing what you want, while we the fans scream wtf we really wanted. This is why Rock is different. I actually wanted Rock vs Roman, because this would have been the first WM Rock ever won the WWE title in a main event of WM, and that story of who is the real tribal chief has been set for years. Instead Rock actually listened to the other fans, and gave them Cody's storyline with Roman again. Rock has been selfless by putting people over since his early days. The man just keeps giving, and he gives even more by still being so damn entertaining while trying to be hated. They chant Rocky sucks when he's gone, but when he's in that Ring it's a different story lol. True people's champ

John Cena still thinking in that old mentality of "Yeah the fans are not happy with the story, buy just stay the course". This is the whole stupid Vince mentality of "I know what's best for the fans". Cena was a one trick pony, he had no range, and could never change his character the way Austin/Rock/Jericho did.
He went from the prototype to thuganomics to the marine to super Cena. Your comment is very inaccurate and it sounds like a personal dislike rather than actual facts.
@@smokegames1179 My case in point. He had two gimmicks and both had very limited range. Thuganomics was simply "let's hear what he will rap this week", but the character had no longevity, it had no vested interest. It was one of those "cool" new things that is no longer interesting after a year. And the hustle gimmick was great for the kids and the PG era but it was the same thing for 10+ years. If it hadn't been for Austin, Rock, Brock and Angle leaving the WWE all within the span of 3 years, Cena would never have gotten as high and for as long as he did.
@@BlagoPAustin was never going to be there long term because of his injuries. Rock wanted to do Hollywood, Brock wouldn't had been long term face of company because he's not PR guy that likes to do interviews and such especially when Benoit stuff ends up happening, and Cena surpass Angle when he was there and Angle at the time was addicted to painkillers aka Perc Angle. Cena showed on the mic that he can destroy Dwayne. So once again you make no valid arguments.
Sounds like Cena’s skeptical about Rock’s Heel turn- Probably because he’s skeptical with HIS OWN heel turn. I think he’s waiting to see if The Rock’s able to win the fans BACK after ‘Mania.
I can definitely see John retiring one day which will be so heartbreaking for all of us but at the same time deserved and grateful for everything he did in the wwe as a wrestler. I can’t see him not being a part of the wwe like backstage or helping in some way. I still see the passion even if he doesn’t wrestle. 16 time world champion 😎
Yeah, sorry Cena. I’m not waiting for WM 41 for Cody to win the title and neither is anybody else. Stupid opinion. No surprise it’s coming from a guy who was handed everything. The people like Cody who had to earn it always get “just wait a little longer”. You can only do “just a little longer” for so long before people stop believing it’s going to happen.
I agree with what he says here, but I think the thing with Cody is that you're gonna see people stop believing in him if he loses to Roman again at Mania. The thing with good storylines is to always be ahead of the curve with people getting tired of what you're doing. That's not to say there's NO scenario in which him losing again makes for a good storyline development, but I really struggle to think of what that development would be that wouldn't leave the character irreparably damaged.
So, we're supposed to wait ANOTHER year for someone to dethrone Roman? Jesus Christ, he's held the title since 2020 and has fought everyone there is with the exception of Lashley or maybe Seth (their matches ended in a DQ so the RR match doesn't count.)
Oh I know you're not talking about patience with Cody fans. Cause if you are, then you're dumb as a brick. Cody fans had to wait 1 entire year for this rematch and you're saying their patience hasn't been long enough? You want to extend it to 41? 2 years is what you call patience? What if The Rock wanted a rematch at 41, would you have said wrestling fans needed even more patience like WM 42? 3 years would be enough patience for you now?!
I hear what hes saying. He doesnt disagree with The Rock turning heel, he just thinks that the substance of such a strong story shouldnt conclude this year, and rather take its time to develop for next WM. Business wise thats more of a long term investment but imagine having this much engagement for 12 months vs 2.
I woulda loved a heel Cena. We all knew hed be great at it. Even Austin, Rock, triple h, undertaker, kane, jericho, angle...all went heel sometimes. Cena always being the superhero good guy coulda been fun at times with proper storytelling. It was just so boring to watch after a while.

Big show and HHH eating like normal people ok with taking pics with everyone…meanwhile unless a news camera or public affairs person was there cena sat there scowling into his fucking food not looking at anyone. When the camera was on his fake face lit up like a light bulb and his smile came out. He’s so fake it disgusted me. Big show funny as shit and chain smokes id hang out with him over this phony pos any day
The audience 🙋 got their expectations taken away from them when Cody was out of the Main Event in Wrestle 🤼 Mania 🏆 but got more out of it when Rock 🤨🐂 turned Heel.
Freakin part time Rock turns heel before Cena. What a world we live in. (Come to think of it, Vince was the main obstacle of the idea. Maybe Paul Levesque can make it happen)
Either Cena means Cody might have to wait until next year for the title or the Rock vs. Roman Reigns fight will be next year. If the latter were to happen it would have to start this year and what better place than at WM when The Rock costs Roman his title? Awesome
He indirectly hinted on the Rock turning on Roman sooner or later. And this, the WWE Universe has already been speculating about. And this will eventually be a good pay off for everyone to witness The Rock vs Roman although it is also true that the Rock is obviously not as agile as he once was. But it’s still going to be a great match to see.

1:45 pretty sure he was hinting towards Rock vs Roman at WrestleMania 41. Which I think is what they're working towards now. The Rock turns on Roman in the Tag match maybe.
"How many WrestleMania ticket refunds you've seen?" MEAAAAAAAAN SMFH that's a BAR.
Damn good luck getting a straight answer from Cena nowadays. Hes still great though
Vote for John Cena as our United States 2032 president. "U can't C me"
With that voice, Cena needs to run for President lol
when Cena tries to talk serious I just can’t take him serious anymore after I seen him in a dress Lol Maybe it’s just different to me cause I grew uup with Cena.. In 05 I was a child watching him rap battle everyone on the mic
See This Is Why It's #Cenation 4Life 🤼💪🏿💯😎🎼🍾🌟💙👑🤘🏿
"Yay, Toronto! That's where we live!" 😅
Remember it like he just said it!
even Rock got surprised he turn into heel, but he got adapted pretty fast and good
Cena still has a chance to turn heel❤
John Cena still thinking in that old mentality of "Yeah the fans are not happy with the story, buy just stay the course". This is the whole stupid Vince mentality of "I know what's best for the fans".
Cena was a one trick pony, he had no range, and could never change his character the way Austin/Rock/Jericho did.
And cody? Lol he had the thuganomics persona to hustle loyalty and respect gimick
He went from the prototype to thuganomics to the marine to super Cena. Your comment is very inaccurate and it sounds like a personal dislike rather than actual facts.
@@smokegames1179Cody living in your head rent free lmao😂😂😂
Mid life crisis hit John hard
No John that's not it all. What they were going to do would have sucked. What they are doing now is what's up.
Lol why is this lowkey mad deep tho
I can see a heel Cena philosopher.
This would be an amazing Heel Cena for 2024
Why does Cena speak like Vince McMahon here? 😂😂🤣
Why does John Cena have to talk about this in the Hyperbolic time chamber? Just record in a normal environment
😂
Lol John Cena trying to reach the word count for his college essay
I can definitely see John retiring one day which will be so heartbreaking for all of us but at the same time deserved and grateful for everything he did in the wwe as a wrestler. I can’t see him not being a part of the wwe like backstage or helping in some way. I still see the passion even if he doesn’t wrestle. 16 time world champion 😎
Blah blah blah
I've said for the last few years that Cena is a "You won't miss me until I'm gone" personality.
Why does John always sounds like he's a walking library 📚 😂
I agree with what he says here, but I think the thing with Cody is that you're gonna see people stop believing in him if he loses to Roman again at Mania. The thing with good storylines is to always be ahead of the curve with people getting tired of what you're doing. That's not to say there's NO scenario in which him losing again makes for a good storyline development, but I really struggle to think of what that development would be that wouldn't leave the character irreparably damaged.
Some of these wrestling fans aren't as patient as you think john.
the most realist thing ever said in the history of wwe is when daniel bryan said wrestling fans are fickle...fickle fickle.. fickle..
That’s what we said last year Cena 🥹 that’s the point
I hear what hes saying. He doesnt disagree with The Rock turning heel, he just thinks that the substance of such a strong story shouldnt conclude this year, and rather take its time to develop for next WM. Business wise thats more of a long term investment but imagine having this much engagement for 12 months vs 2.
Why does it sound like he got hit with a samoan spike😂😂😂
Cena slowing down his speech and annunciation sound a lot like Vince
My opinion on John Cena being naked at the Oscars: “i don’t know yet, my instinct would say stay the course and the show is an infinate loop”
"Fans love that long term payoff." See, he GETS it! Barely anyone else in entertainment does these days and it sucks!
Rock is amazing as a heel or baby face. It makes the most sense considering bloodline story.
He sounds like a bad phone reception call
i liked the interview but i cant watch it fully cause the audio sux
Best Bad Guys Ever: 1. Ric Flair 2. The Rock 3. The Macho Man 4. Roddy Piper
I miss you Mr.John Cena.🌹🌹🌹
we need CENA HEEL RUN before he retires
1:55 well said
When did John Cena become Plato ?
Why does this have zen like vibes.. It's like a mild echo in a white noise background that is so quite.
Cena should come back as a heel and become tag champs with rock lol
For the record Ricky staticky was hilarious lol
I woulda loved a heel Cena. We all knew hed be great at it. Even Austin, Rock, triple h, undertaker, kane, jericho, angle...all went heel sometimes. Cena always being the superhero good guy coulda been fun at times with proper storytelling. It was just so boring to watch after a while.
Poor John, he wants to go heel for sure
No he loves being a a fake hero for kids. That’s why he ain’t got any 😂
Come back in the wrestling ring.❤❤❤
John Cena continues to amaze me. Great point when he mentioned how that segment got the most dislikes but there were zero ticket refunds.
Kinda right, but long term not paying off the Cody thing would have hurt the following year when rock and Roman go away from mania till summerslam
Cena: "Fuck your story."
The people saying Cena sounds disingenuous etc.. No he is thinking before he speaks because he has intelligence and wants to give a educated opinion
He’s right about the Daniel Bryan thing. And as soon as it pays off the fans will get bored w Cody like they did w Daniel Bryan.
Yup, same with Sami Zayn as well.
They booed D. Bryan later on? Wow! Stopped watching WWE a year after the yes movement took over
I like cena but he’s such a robot, same with rock in interviews it’s like watching a corporate spokesperson talk in circles.
Your high as f bro wot r u smoking arse crak?
Swear to god I’ve seen the guy in Iraq in a chow hall line during their Christmas show in Baghdad. Big show funny as shit and chain smokes id hang out with him over this phony pos any day
Rock interviews are darn intresting. You see rock is different character when he is in Hollywood
The audience 🙋 got their expectations taken away from them when Cody was out of the Main Event in Wrestle 🤼 Mania 🏆 but got more out of it when Rock 🤨🐂 turned Heel.
WWE was scared ppl were going to hijack the show at mania if Cody wasn't in the main. That's the only reason they pivoted.
Freakin part time Rock turns heel before Cena. What a world we live in.
(Come to think of it, Vince was the main obstacle of the idea. Maybe Paul Levesque can make it happen)
I don’t see anyone but I do hear someone talking with the interviewer.😅
I like John but my god more i watch him does he come across as overly serious and contrite but i do love him!
John Cena says many words. Many, many, many, many words...
"You hava big mouth, John chena"
Either Cena means Cody might have to wait until next year for the title or the Rock vs. Roman Reigns fight will be next year. If the latter were to happen it would have to start this year and what better place than at WM when The Rock costs Roman his title? Awesome
Cena sounds like an AI version of himself 😮
He indirectly hinted on the Rock turning on Roman sooner or later. And this, the WWE Universe has already been speculating about. And this will eventually be a good pay off for everyone to witness The Rock vs Roman although it is also true that the Rock is obviously not as agile as he once was. But it’s still going to be a great match to see.
I’m not gonna lie John is just way to formal, makes this interview feel very fake.
