My wife grew up in Lanao Del Norte. Her family was so poor they couldn’t afford rice, so the ate maize. I also grew up poor in Mexico and Cali. Even though I still struggle with service-connected PTSD, things have changed for me for the better. Meeting my wife was a blessing.
I’m waiting for travel to open up more so we can experience traveling together throughout the Philippines and elsewhere.
I get bringing along Hannah completely. We have my wife’s sisters come stay and visit with us in Laguna (Luzon) whenever possible. Hannah is a gem 💎- it’s a win-win for everyone having her along.
As for my wife, she is smart. She owned her own modest home and business, but she still needs to learn a lot about living in a bigger city and the world around us.
Keep at it Tim. I’m right here learning and growing and moving my family forward right alongside you. I’m 58. My wife is 35. You inspire me to try harder at making a better life for us here. Thanks. I really felt this video.

Philippines has the number 1 call centers trained for American accents. If Chrissy wants to have an American accent there are tutorials specifically for Filipinos to get call center jobs. It’s mainly because some letters don’t exist in the Philippine alphabet that are in American English. Idioms/metaphors can only be learned over time like working in a call center or living in the US. She is doing pretty good because sometimes she switches from 3 languages which you don’t notice. Her intellect is quite high but she needs more exposure.

Part of the charm of being with a Filipina is how much they need you because they are not very worldly, cherish this, don't ever lose that, making her independent and you have a westernized girl, you will regret it if you lose that. Tim you are in Boracay and this is all you can come up with for a video ? You can do these type videos back home on slow days, why here in Boracay ? I mean come-on Tim, you finally made it to Boracay and you you got is these type videos and going to eat ?
What about swimming in the ocean, getting a couple paddle boards, kayaks, how about a walk around station 2 mall and then the beach showing what's open ? Most people won't be staying at a expensive hotel, eating at expensive resturaunts, they'll be at the beaches in front of the hotels like station 2.
Are the off road carts still running ? Take a trip around the island to the bat cave and lookout tower.
How about a look at the other side of the island where the water sports happen ? Anything happening over there ? There's lots of activities to do.
Very, very disappointing so far, hopefully you plan to get out and about before you leave.

With my wife it was many things. Shes from Soithern Leyte as well in Silago. when I first went there her family and her took baths in the river as well as washed their clothes there. But the biggest thing I trouble with then was she had never slept in a bed with a mattress. They slept on mats they made from palm trees. I bought a bwd with a mattress and she still wanted to sleep on the floor. Took a long time to get her to sleep on bed.

And I can definitely see why you married such a sweet and beautiful woman. She was already gorgeous, but with you by her side, she will bloom and grow even more... And that amazingly beautiful baby. Hello! I don’t know how I stumbled upon your channel… My Mom is from a suburb of Manila. I had my first op to visit the PI in 2015. It felt foreign yet somewhat familiar at the same time. I had a difficult time with some things I saw , such as children even in the city ,playing unsupervised by the side of a busy street, the shantytown on one side of the road and on the other a big modern condo development…my heart was sad… You sound like a very kind and caring new husband and your wife seems to be a smart and ambitious young woman. My Mom says you can call her a “Provinsiyana” - means a girl from the Province ;) I applaud and respect your desire to improve your health status. I can appreciate the challenge of regaining your fitness in paradise with people doing things for you … the food as comfort - I can relate to that. What I say is only meant to support and encouage you. You remind me of myself, I see my prior photos , from my gym days… We know what to do , you more than I with your boot camp military experience! Discipline - the name of the game we know it - you are not alone. You can do it! You will do it! You did it before and you will succeed again. You are an attractive man inside and out - fab smile, your personality and good humour shines plus you have a good heart . Just think, nothing tastes as good as it feels to be riding a wave, hopping up on the board easily, walking around effortlessly, playing with your little guy and being around for many years in good health to see him grow and teach him many things. I wish you positivity , self-discipline and success with your commitment to good health ( btw how are the hospitals there - being so far from Manila… another motivation for improved health!) Erwan Heuseff is a Filipino /French fellow who vlogs and does YT in PI - he increased his fitness over there and he cooks on YT - maybe your fitness journey might create another aspect of your YT channel - incorporate your military fitness !… show people how you don't need a tricked out gym… sorry for the long letter. Take good care!

Many, many times people that have little experience because of being poor actually turn resentful of the people that lift them out of poverty. Some call it being spoiled. It is a very fine line to keep things respectful on both sides. Sometimes the student actually believes they know more than the teacher. They eventually realize who the fool is once they get a good taste of reality sandwich and get bounced around by life.

The main issue here isn't necessarily what Tim is suggesting, partially yes. It's the psychological dynamics of age, Chrissy and Hannah are very young and naive where Tim is very experienced and wants to settle down. Tim is having to become a kid again (psychologically), hence, the major shifts in his life now to adapt. Tim needs to take the back seat and respect the fact that his wife is young and will make mistakes of her own accord and learn on her own otherwise it may create problems. It's not a father/daughter (disciplinarian father knows what's best) relationship but a husband/wife (romantic and appreciating any differences and working together).

Chrissy got a great smile. Trying to get her to move to US is difficult because of the culture she grew up with. She got to try and live outside her comfort zone. Maybe you need to explain to her parents about chrissy moving to US . If they support your idea then it is easier for chrissy to decide on migrating to US for good. It's all about your son's future.

Tim - isn't that child-like innocence a large part of the reason we love our Filipinas. to see that look on their face when they have a new experience. And the look they give us when they think we are the smartest guy there and we chose to be with them, even though it is something we learned a lifetime ago. Don't let anyone take that away from her. She will learn things in her own time. The travel bag thing is a good example - tell her not to bring that much liquid but let her pack it if she must and watch her face when they throw it out and smile when she looks at you. No need to remind her - your smile says it better than words will. Plus It makes your life Fun as well - to see these things again through such innocent eyes. How can you not enjoy being with a Filipina like that !!! Pick your Battles Carefully - the car seat is a good example of that. BTW - Great Background for the Vlog - Love hearing the waves hit the beach !!!!

I grew up in the province like Krissy. If you compare her with those people in the media, they're far too different. Most of them studied in exclusive schools where they teach in english language, and they live in big cities like Manila which is a melting pot . You're better off with a province girl. They are more naive, subdued. and sometimes gullible. You don't want to deal with a Westernized woman who is very assertive and wants to be equal with men,. Or else, you'll gonna have more problems.
Have patience. That was how I was before, until I studied in the big city, then worked abroad. But Krissy is a fast learner.
You're a blessing to Krissy. Good luck in your married life!!!

Another good vlog..information: you can never give or get too much of it. Hannah certainly is an asset to the "team" and at this point would be awkward to take her out of the equation. This travel also serves to be an important lesson in growth for her, besides her being as cute as a bugs ear..:-). I'd go a bit easy with the English language refinement with Chrissy, and, as you know and have heard, our language is one of the most difficult to "properly" learn with all of the caveat's to some words having several connotations. It's even difficult for some Americans!.... and Tim, it would be an asset for you to learn at least the basics in the native tongue there!. Knowing and speaking it would give you more admiration from the locals. Besides, what else have you got to do while you're living there.?..:-P.

Undertand your concerns dude but chillax. In mixed marriages its always about learning each other's culture. Common to have misunderstandings but being the male of the family, the husband has to give way for the lady to grow and evolve. Being that Chrissy is still a teen, you will need to more time to let her mature naturally. Its hard for you since you been living in a western and travelling lifestyle but you came into Chrissy life and not the other way around. It was a choice you made and all more you are the one who needs to adapt and not Chrissy. Do go to church more often with Chrissy and son, instead of staying and posh staycations, God will help the family grow stronger and bless the Holy family with many divine things you cant imagine possibly. Start by being more involved in church community and activity. You will start seeing more miracles happen and life improve

My man, I agree with a lot of the comments here (and I know I’m late for this video). To me, part of the charm is that..for the lack of a better word, innocence. Sure, they may not know a lot of things, it may be a challenge at times, but part of your job is to guide her, help her. But do it in a way that she won’t be embarrassed (not saying you’re doing it that way).
One advantage is seeing them happy with the simplest of things, things that makes them smile that you didn’t even spend money on.
I mean, when you grow old, it’s one of the things you’ll remember and laugh at together.
I’ve had a girl before, she’s much simpler, content with even just the basic things. The beauty of it is she doesn’t want too much material things. She’s happy even if you guys don’t have much, not saying she won’t enjoy having more but it helps both of you that she’s not looking too much for those things

You have the impression that your wife can never do anything on her own. She has learned a lot and she keeps on learning, just she doesn't show what she can do, if needed she will cope don't worry.

I understand you, my wife is from Vietnam, she grew up on a farm, over time she has learned a lot and is no longer the country girl of the past, you have to teach her and be patient, I really like your videos Tim, greetings from Chile.
PS: if you want to lose weight, do fasting, and walk every morning on an empty stomach, avoid the red horses ... that would be a good start. (Im a P.E Teacher and Personal Trainer)

You're right Tim..you can survive with 2 to 3 outfits in a backpack..with a few small essential's in a side pocket for a simple week or two trip.. everything else is out of pocket expenses..hotels provide too with their gift packets of toothpaste and soap..shampoo etc..what more do you need except the exciting company of a partner being with 'you.. people really need to learn this..✌️

Tim, God has need of you, surrender to authentic Heavenly Father's Love, & be filled with His Holy Spirit by faith in Yehoshua Messiah ... Authentic Life is about servings others, sacrificing for others ... and loosing your life, for others benefit ... good news? ... Authentic is better than counterfeit ... Eternity is now, if we choose to surrender to authentic ... May you use your resources to rescue those trapped in a poverty mindset / expectations in life ... Before / After they are Born again and followers of Messiah [✓] blessings sir 👍

Both Chrissy and Hannah are becoming more comfortable and charismatic all the time. They are already very entertaining. Give them both another six months and they will UA-cam superstars. Gotta love em both.

If I were trapped on a deserted island, I would rather have her with me than someone who does great in the elevator and system. I’m sure she masters skills that others might not be able to. Everyone learns the things they need to survive, whatever that is. So as far as I'm concerned, you have a perfect life partner

Hi Tim, I am a 70 year old Australian, been watching your videos for around 3 years. Love watching Chrissy grow in so many ways… I have my fiancée in Ormoc now nearly 4 years relationship (7 visits) but LDR for 20 months now! I enjoy the similarities with you guys.. Our first trip together knowing she comes from a home cooking on a wood fire at her home, to teaching her to use a microwave, induction cooker, shower heater, elevator, bank account, passport, speak with confidence when dealing with all types of situations, researching how to buy a house and lot, google maps, and so many other things… you are doing a great job including Hannah as well. Hopefully whenever I get back to Leyte we might come down and say hi! Ps have you been to Digyo Isaland??? Worth a visit.
