I just booked fire protection I ship tuesday. I got the job because my recruiter was awesome and got me something called a competency booking due to prior civi fire/paramedic experience. Ask your recruiter about that if you have that prior experience!

David Hernandez really depends one what CDC you’re taking. Some are easy, some are very very hard.
Randy Cantu mainly the first 3 cdcs, like getting the licenses for the apparatus
David Hernandez personally those were really easy but everyone is different. I know people who have failed them. If you’re good with your academic work you’ll be fine

brody newman yes they do. There are so many, fire fighter 1,2, rescue, hazmat, tele communicator, etc.

Bran H you can’t be colorblind if I’m not mistaken, you have to pass a lung capacity test, and can’t be claustrophobic.🙏🏼

Are the "strength" PT sessions at tech school comprised mainly (or at all) of elements of the PT test? In other words, to what degree are loaded carries, drags, climbing, etc. trained beyond the technical skill sessions? Or does the strength fall under the more traditional military pushup-situp type stuff? Thanks!
alecpetrone2 it’s more military push-up, sit up type of stuff. I think it’s that way because we PT with another career field so it wouldn’t be right if we do firefighting PT if they’re not even fire. Fire tech schoolers used to do “Firefighter PT” but they did away with it!
