In this episode -- Izzy, Inina, Sumåhi, and Tatum talk to sisters, Jacinta Matagolai Kaipat and Cecilia Kaipat Selepeo, about their home island of Pågan and their current struggle to return back.
Dedicated to all of the children of the Marianas
In loving memory of Mayor Francisco Jerome Kaipat Aldan
Pågan island is a beautiful, pristine refuge in the northern part of the Marianas Archipelago with schools of fish, dolphins that frolic in the bays, and turtles that lounge on the black sand cove.
Pågan island belongs to the people of the commonwealth of the northern mariana islands. Some are taking steps to resettle the island and turn it into a thriving cultural and eco-destination for the children of the Marianas and Pågan's visitors.
In spite of community outcry, the Department of Defense wants to take Pågan and turn it into a training area for aerial bombings and other war game activities.
