Was Herbie mentioned at all during the podcast? One of my earliest memories is crying and shouting " Bastards!" At the tv when they chucked him off the cruise ship into the sea 🤣🤣🤣
On the topic of yogurt: I actually had a professor in college make his own yogurt from scratch, and occasionally you would be lucky (or unlucky) enough to catch him on his lunch break and be given a sample of this…. experiment. One of my classmates was given a cup of this stuff and man was it interesting. Whatever bacteria he used to make it would still be reacting with the other stuff in the yogurt and it actually bubbled… and it was ominously warm. We were all so fascinated by the weird warm cup of bubbling yogurt that none of us wanted to try it. Very weird experience.
There is a maximum size for a fighter pilot still today. Back in Vietnam you had to be a small guy to be a tunnel rat, small guys tending to be belly gunners in WWII because they could get in and out of the gun turret, etc. Conversely, you also don't tend to have a smaller guy be the "heavy weapon" guy in a squad. The idea is not really out of line at all...
I was laughing so hard when James started talking about packing in a hot building, I package turbo chargers in a warehouse in Arizona. I was at work listening to it and I couldn't help but smile knowing that.
@@creator4413 Mainly diesel turbos, we do alot of oem but we get the occasional order for something special, usually being bored out for a larger compressor wheel.
Nice episode, guys ! Good job ! This format is great : long episode with less ads ;) I know it is a audio podcast but as it is also on UA-cam, could you pleeeease show some illustrations pics here or there :) ? But, I kind of miss the dynamic and humor of the first episodes. I feel like you have less fun doing it than you used to ! I miss James' personas imitations ! But still my favorite podcast, I always enjoy listening to you, thanks for your work ! Keep on going !
As a creator myself, I know they censor in order to avoid YT's super sensitive "we are going to demonetize" bot (not really named that). Anyway, YT will demonetize you for some really stupid reasons. This is why you often hear them bleep cockpit even though in itself, is not an offensive word. So, they need to censor to keep their money coming in so they can pay the bills. Not being argumentative, just informing.
@Stephen Hogan yeah it'd be because JRE's getting his money from sponsors like honey or nordvpn or any of that weird protein drink shit he shills. youtube is mad sensitive for swearing
@Stephen Hogan YT is dumb and confusing, Steve-O can upload a 20 minute video based on all the stuff he shoved up his butt while giving every vulgar detail and still be monetized. Meanwhile Armchair Historian can't get monetized because he teaches history. YT is trying to either rewrite history or virtue signal so hard trying to be a corporate white knight.

Major hurst wasnt an engineer... in the british military we have 2 seperate corps. Royal Engineers (RE) that are more like building, plumbing and electricians (for buildings) and the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME). Hurst was REME. It may sound petty to you but over here its like calling a marine a sailor or something. Also RE dont get discount when buying new from VW, REME do because the corps helped rebuild them :)
FYI: The Edge's real name is Dave Evans. And he got his nick name The Edge because of the shape of his face. I'm sorry but James saying he'd go back in time to defraud the Nazi's or mobilize their supporters in the same episode of why he doesn't feel that he's smart enough to speak on dark topics as such is both hilarious and equally ironic and incredibly well self-assessed and it's why I love Donut Podcast. It's too good for anyone to not enjoy
There was a competition for the contract to build the people's car. Did you guys only go to one source for information? The thoroughness in how they assessed the competing automobiles you would find most interesting.
actually tanks nowadays are made as fast and light with the smallest possible profile as possible, of course it still is big af but engineers trying to make tanks smaller, lighter and more agile. That shows that porsche did not just made a unreasonable proposal, he actually used a sense of modern tank engeneering, in opposite to hitlers thinking of „bigger is better“
"Hey, umm, Hitler, could you maybe turn off the war, or like at least make smaller tanks?" You know you're on the wrong end of a war, when a Wunderkind (pun intended) asks these questions but for realz...
My homie has a Prince Albert and Jacobs ladder that had 8 “steps” a total of 9 piercings. Which lead me to want me to get a ladder but fortunately I found a new girlfriend which if we’re boning everyday isn’t possible to allow the 6 week recovery time unless wearing protection and also the cleaning. But to be real the cleaning would be the most painful unless doing the deed raw with a “fresh” piercing

Mentioned a movie series but not Herbie by name, I don't think he was.

Not by name, just mentioned as a Disney line of movies

Fun fact: The Russians actually did just that. One of the reasons they where so good, Russian tankers had a height limit.
