This actually looks great - did my first weekend in my JKU this weekend, and this would suit my needs down to the ground to be honest, a high level shelf for soft stuff.
If you're noticing the cooler isn't cutting it for you it might be because you have the fan facing in where it can't breathe. If you flip it 180 so the fan is facing your tailgate you might have better luck. I've used mine for several multi-day to week long trips.
Looks great Brad. I would install some sound deadening like dynamat or boom mat. You could install a pullout for the cooler so that you can lower the rack as well.
Wow extra storage space makes a big difference. I got to build one for the cherroke I can't spend 430 dollars on a rack from quadratec. Great video as always.
Hey Brad, awesome video! I have the Vector Trail Dock which I been really happy with. They're quality is excellent and the finish is 1st rate. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more of their stuff. The nice thing about this is that the gear on the lower level can be accessed without having to take a bunch of stuff out.
Really, really cool. I actually like how high up you put it, gives you space to put things on top of the cooler and toolbox, almost like another set of shelves. I love that you can still use this with the top off too. Really nice product.
Fabulous install video. Hey, we have the same toilet. We found that it fits perfectly outside in the Trasheroo with the popup tent and the toilet supplies bag. Not to brag, but I (the wife) can have that all up and ready in 4.53 minutes. Haha!
This is funny Brad. Really, I'm not stocking you. LOL. I'm installing my Vector E-Dock dash bar in my 2014 JKUX. I'm just waiting for my new upgrade on the head unit (radio) I have on order. I have the dash all apart. The dash bar is just waiting to go in. I was just looking at a shelf from Rugged Ridge and didn't like it. Then I received a email from Vector talking about my E-Dock dash bar and it had a link to this video. When I saw it was you and it was a shelf, it made me laugh. Now for your next video. I'm going to get the BULEITTI AC180 to run my refrigerator. I have a refrigerator picked out that a good one but not the number #1 rated. I'm still researching and checking reviews. So, you next video must be about what refrigerator you're going to get. LOL. Hope to see you on the road sometime. Ray.
I purchased the fabtech rear cargo basket it provides plenty of clearance (22 inches) and it is reasonably priced from Amazon ($252.00) with prime free shipping. Everyone else has it for $300. Your rack provides the best clearance on the market but at almost $500 is too much for my pockets. Definitely a top of the line product.
..so much for using the rear view mirror. Also if you get into an accident all the loose stuff that you have sitting on that shelf just might go shooting forward.
Great video and what a great shelf. As fulltime Rvers and offroad enthusiasts ourselves we always need a little extra room in our jeep. This shelf is awesome. Love your videos.
Is a little pricey but seems like a great product and looks to be well designed and quality built! Thanks for the video and as always the amazing quality content!
As for upgrading to a fridge, have you looked into the newest from ARB, I think it’s called Elements...it’s the all weather beast. Looks like a champ. Food for thought
Really like that shelf. We've been looking for something like this. Possible the Teraflex cargo rack. I think this one is bigger though. Thanks for sharing Brad
I would look at your videos just for the sharpness and clarity. This GGB essentially doubles the storage space. Unfortunately I have the 2-door JK so I will not be able to install this item. See you in Flagstaff. Be safe in your off-road venures and THUMBS UP!
Shame they don't make this for a 2-door JK. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I run my 2015 JK without a back seat and this would seriously come in handy for travel.
This is really cool. We just carry out two dogs in the back with Safari straps. Wonder if there is a way to raise this up to just give some extra clearance for the dogs.
I honestly don't know ... I am trying to get into this way of life (waiting on the results of a lawsuit to get my rig), and seeing a grocery shelf for almost $500 is disheartening, to say the least
Rick Sandfort well I use to own a CJ and I can tell from experience Jeeping is for rich people these days. Every time I went to buy something it was $300 or $600 for the littlest simplest products. Jeep owners are downright gettin screwed on a lot of this stuff. Now at that little shelve is worth $469.99. I would go try to find some other cargo rack and make it fit or make your own. Get creative and save yourselves a lot of money and it’s made the way you want it.
the jku crowd gets it the most! i need a sponsor cuz i cant afford this stuff. I would love me some free stuff..... waiting for the chinese to make a knock off of this, just like they did with the teraflex tailgate table for 1/3 the price..lol
Great video Brad, I have been looking at this rack for a while now trying to see if it can be made to fir a 2 door. I think by using the roll bar brackets on the top bar not a down tube I may be able to fabricate the mount bracket to work.
I actually didn't take the CO2 with me to Moab, because it was a 10 day trip and I would have emptied the bottle pretty quickly, so I just ran a compressor. CO2 is still my preferred way of airing up and it's now back in the Jeep for my day trips.
Hey mate, looks great! I was wondering if it was possible. Could you please measure the shelf from the floor to the lowest point on the shelf when raised on the highest setting? Looking to fit this in my rig and my fridge is 24.5" tall. Cheers!
Got a question for you. I have a 2013 jeep jku and love wranglers. If you had the option to get a toyota landcruiser troopy, would you ? This is for space and to make into a camper. Everything else does not matter.
Vector off-road is one of my favorite brands. They worked with me a couple of times for my channel. You should run their hood ufos if you don’t already!! also Where did you get that tool box for your air lines and tow straps?? I need something like that.
Great video. I'm looking to build a overland trailer. Can you do some walk around videos on them. I need some ideas. Going from a xj to tj dramatic difference in cargo. space. I really enjoy your channel thanks.
great job on the review seams like a awesome product . my only thoughts would be to mount it lower behind the seats so that it is not up by the head rest. just in case of a rear end accident theirs more protection their for the possible passengers in front of that shelf. not sure if that is even possible. however for your cooler you could buy drawer sliders at home depot for 20 bucks and ask if their is scrap wood, a lot of times they have stuff lying around that you can pick up for super cheap that is how i built my work bench all except for the legs. I look forward to hearing back from you have a great day and keep cranking out the vids.
I honestly don't know if I'd want it that low and I almost never have passengers in the back now that by boys are grown, but something for folks to consider. Great suggestions about building a DIY slider, something to really consider. The chiller was always meant to be temporary until I can swing for a frig. Thanks!
Hello, nice review! I have the rear seat recline modification. Do you think this Vector basket will have enough room with this mod? How much space is there on your Jeep between the rear seat headrests and the Vector basket? Thanks! E
Its taken me 6 hours to even reply to that...OH, my favorite cold salad, Shrimp boiled in water ( steep'd with pickling spice for 10 min)..for 2 min max, cucumber, red onjun, hearts of palm, some dill and your dressing of choice, I like Italian when I'm lazy, or a combo of lil mayo and fresh squeezed orange:)
With so many expensive mods I am wondering what auto insurance you have and if you know if you need a rider to cover it? State Farm told me no need unless I add a huge amount of things,, many thousands, but they must be permanently attached or bolted to be covered. AAA said they don’t even cover accessories.
My buddy Charlie has a 2 door and he carries just about everything I can think of in the back of his Jeep. Here is a walk around we did 2 years ago: ua-cam.com/video/5HuCHvxIGok/v-deo.html
Great install video Brad !!! Do you know if they make one for the TJ ? Also not to get off track here , What was the brand of seat covers did you install and how are they holding up ? Thank you in advance.
Sorry, I don't think they make them for a TJ. The seats are a leather replacement. Here is the video I did on them a while ago: ua-cam.com/video/oJ8DD48r9dQ/v-deo.html. They are holding up great!!!
Curious...I installed mine for a three week road trip and used the highest setting to clear my fridge/stove slider combo. Fully loaded, it squeaks. Unloaded, it squawks! Even on flat pavement. Sounds like you’ve got a good plan. Sorry, we didn’t do a video of the power station, it was kind of a spur of the moment decision to make it. I may have to remove it and do it all again just to share with you guys in the future. Thanks!!
I think it was maybe a little over amplified because it was in my garage and I was using a sensitive mic. It's pretty solid now that it's mounted.... no rattling noted.
what cooler is that? i am looking for one that size and don't want to have to spend a grand for an overnight trip or day trip worth of food? love the channel!!
This actually looks great - did my first weekend in my JKU this weekend, and this would suit my needs down to the ground to be honest, a high level shelf for soft stuff.
Awesome review and the extra storage is great. I went with the Teraflex cargo rack. It’s wonderful because it basically doubles your cargo space.

Get the bed slide and cargo shelf from frontrunner is awesome. Running in Australia 🇦🇺 for about 8 years.
You can never have enough storage, even in a Cherokee! Thank you!

Very cool for sure! I just hope I’m not tempted to bring things I don’t need now that I have all this space!

4.53 minutes.... I want video proof!! LOL!
You and Jason from autoedit make the best jeep content
Jasons videos are awesome, watch them all the time! Thank you!

Michael M unless you’re smart enough to use the many tie down points....
Great video, I need to get my husband one of these for his JK!
You can easily find a slide out mount for your cooler so it extends past the cargo hold. Then you can lower the above storage.
I am excited to see the one like that for the JLU. I love this shelf!
Great video and what a great shelf. As fulltime Rvers and offroad enthusiasts ourselves we always need a little extra room in our jeep. This shelf is awesome. Love your videos.
Only channel I have notifications on for. Great video Brad!
Wow! Thank you, I’m honored!!
Is a little pricey but seems like a great product and looks to be well designed and quality built! Thanks for the video and as always the amazing quality content!
I'm very happy with the quality so far. Thank you!
Just a thought, maybe bolt the C02 and fire extinguisher to the underside of the shelf and save your space?
Another great video Brad!!! Ill be looking into that rack, the extra storage space is a must!!!! Thanks for what you do!!!
Thank you, I really appreciate! I am happy I can share videos that you guys find helpful.
I'm getting the overlander kit from Nomad kitchen and hoping this will somehow fit over the kitchen and drawers.
As for upgrading to a fridge, have you looked into the newest from ARB, I think it’s called Elements...it’s the all weather beast. Looks like a champ. Food for thought
I've seen their new frig and yes, it's very, very nice!
I have the new fridge it is very nice my friends that have the arb want to get the elements fridge now as well.
Few recomendation for an slide rack for the fridge
Also Jason Koertge will be at Expo west. Would love to see you two interview each other and vehicles.
Already on the agenda!
i will definitely be looking for you at OXW!!! Look forward to meeting you.
Right on! Look forward to it!
Really like that shelf. We've been looking for something like this. Possible the Teraflex cargo rack. I think this one is bigger though. Thanks for sharing Brad
It’s a great option and a large platform!
Great idea and it looks like a quality product. Thanks for the video Brad!
Very nice mod! Can never have too much storage.
You can never have enough storage in a Jeep!
Very nice adjustment.
That is an amazing feature.
I would look at your videos just for the sharpness and clarity. This GGB essentially doubles the storage space. Unfortunately I have the 2-door JK so I will not be able to install this item. See you in Flagstaff. Be safe in your off-road venures and THUMBS UP!
Thank you! I can't wait until Overland Expo!!!
I've been looking at the video, there has got to be a way to fabricate a bracket to mount this in a 2 door.
Hope that Vector off road sees your comment. Thanks.
Hey TR, your videos are awesome! Thank you.👍
Thank you very much!
Great review. Thanks for having such a helpful channel.
Thank you, so glad it's helpful.
My metal rear shelf brackets, mounted to the roll bar cost under $40.
Shame they don't make this for a 2-door JK. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I run my 2015 JK without a back seat and this would seriously come in handy for travel.
Rampage Rear Sport Rack
This is really cool. We just carry out two dogs in the back with Safari straps. Wonder if there is a way to raise this up to just give some extra clearance for the dogs.
Awesome addition Brad. I like it!
Thanks, it really is a great addition and is going to get a lot of use.
Nice looking shelf would have liked to see how low it would go
at $470, I think I will just put my groceries in the back seat
Made in the U.S. always costs more... what do you think a reasonable price would be?
I honestly don't know ... I am trying to get into this way of life (waiting on the results of a lawsuit to get my rig), and seeing a grocery shelf for almost $500 is disheartening, to say the least
Rick Sandfort well I use to own a CJ and I can tell from experience Jeeping is for rich people these days. Every time I went to buy something it was $300 or $600 for the littlest simplest products. I think about that half that price would be reasonable. maybe even 300
the jku crowd gets it the most! i need a sponsor cuz i cant afford this stuff. I would love me some free stuff..... waiting for the chinese to make a knock off of this, just like they did with the teraflex tailgate table for 1/3 the price..lol

I'm sure there are a few fabrication options that might work... sounds like Vector should consider a 2 door option.
Can we get a update on the PowerTank mounting option? Especially after all that crawling in Moab. Cheers!
I actually didn't take the CO2 with me to Moab, because it was a 10 day trip and I would have emptied the bottle pretty quickly, so I just ran a compressor. CO2 is still my preferred way of airing up and it's now back in the Jeep for my day trips.
Great video, what is the measure from of the shelf to the floor of the Jeep? Do you have enough room for an ARB refrigerator and slider?
Did you ever find out this answer?
Hey mate, looks great! I was wondering if it was possible. Could you please measure the shelf from the floor to the lowest point on the shelf when raised on the highest setting? Looking to fit this in my rig and my fridge is 24.5" tall. Cheers!
Brad, what about a soft top interferes with the shelf? Seems very nice but also pricey.
Like always great videos Brad,Hi from miami fl👍👍👍
Thank you!
I looking for video installation in a JL, thanks for your videos are great!!
Got a question for you. I have a 2013 jeep jku and love wranglers. If you had the option to get a toyota landcruiser troopy, would you ? This is for space and to make into a camper. Everything else does not matter.

They are a great company! You can pic the Rigid Box's up on amazon: amzn.to/2HBLInh
When I get my Jeep I'mma try to custom fit a custom shelf in the back of mine lol
Wonder if the ARB storage drawers will fit underneath that?
Great solution.
Great video. I'm looking to build a overland trailer. Can you do some walk around videos on them. I need some ideas. Going from a xj to tj dramatic difference in cargo. space. I really enjoy your channel thanks.
Thank you! I hope to do a little video of some at Overland Expo next month! XJ to a TJ, ya you really lost some storage space.
great job on the review seams like a awesome product . my only thoughts would be to mount it lower behind the seats so that it is not up by the head rest. just in case of a rear end accident theirs more protection their for the possible passengers in front of that shelf. not sure if that is even possible. however for your cooler you could buy drawer sliders at home depot for 20 bucks and ask if their is scrap wood, a lot of times they have stuff lying around that you can pick up for super cheap that is how i built my work bench all except for the legs. Hello, nice review! I have the rear seat recline modification. Do you think this Vector basket will have enough room with this mod? How much space is there on your Jeep between the rear seat headrests and the Vector basket? Thanks! E
wish they had something like this for the 4runner
I wish I could use this but I don't think it will fit using a fastback soft top.
...I live in No Cali, many main-stream stores offer free delivery, if over 100$:)
My wife sends me to the store for a cucumber... $1.95
Looks pretty cool. But once again, it's for a four door. Seems nobody thinks about the 2 door. Sick of four door jeeps. Love the XJ
nice video tho.
Jerimiah Johnson Most XJ's are 4 door too. 😊
Thanks capt obivious. That;s my point.
agreed i can't find any good overland videos for a 2 door
Good afternoon. What do you plan on doing with the ridgid boxes after you build the other stuff?
Great vid once again 👌🏻
Really appreciate it, thanks!
Did you get any rattle noise from the power tank being mounted from the top?
230lb capacity is the vector employee who sat on it, bounced a couple times, and proclaimed “its solid!”
What are you using for power in the trunk area? I’m looking for something to add outlets in the rear
I like this shelf, but I'm going to get a snorkel for my Powertank so that it can lay on it's side.
Great video. Very informative. No help for me with my 2dr but I enjoyed it anyways.
Thanks, sorry, no 2 door love with this system.
No 2 door love with most systems.
Anti-sieze are you sure? Wash board roads needs locktite blue in my experience
Hi need that cover roll bar for my JL 2020, link please
Excellent product! I have the rear seat removed from my 2 door JK - will this shelf fit with the extra space taken up by the rear seat?
Great question, but I would call the good folks at Vector OffRoad... If not, maybe you can inspire them to work on a 2 door solution.
do the lashing points need washers on both sides?
With so many expensive mods I am wondering what auto insurance you have and if you know if you need a rider to cover it? State Farm told me no need unless I add a huge amount of things,, many thousands, but they must be permanently attached or bolted to be covered. AAA said they don’t even cover accessories.
$470 for a shelf? (Extremely Mark Cuban voice) “It’s a no for me”
LOL! I love Shark Tank!
Will this work if your backseat has a recline kit installed?
What model is the small fire extinguisher
Hey Brad, what is the big tank on the left?
Can you close the seats with this on?
Trailrecon can you do something for us 2 door jeep guys? I have a 2 door jeep willy's 2015
My buddy Charlie has a 2 door and he carries just about everything I can think of in the back of his Jeep. Here is a walk around we did 2 years ago: ua-cam.com/video/5HuCHvxIGok/v-deo.html
Link of the rollbar cover please
It's unbearably noisy.
Does yours make noise too (metal on metal rubbing)? I'm hoping it's my own installation error.
Very nice shelf........but too pricey at $460......
What brand is the roll bar cover
Brad, you read my mind today. I have a used Bestop rack but it only fits on a 2 door JK due to the slant rear roll bar mounting options. There are ways I was able to fit on my previous JKU, but I want to be able to mount high enough as to your version. I have a platform already built for mine (4" high so I can still access my stock jack and the bottom storage), so in the future I can install rail slide for fridge/ freezer. Looking at the clamps, gives me ideas how to modify mine. Also, do you have a video of how you install your rear cigarette lighter outlet? Waiting to see your review as you mentioned about your fridge, debating still if I should drop that $800+ for ARB fridge/ freezer! Thank you for posting this. Cheers
Sounds like you’ve got a good plan. Sorry, we didn’t do a video of the power station, it was kind of a spur of the moment decision to make it. I may have to remove it and do it all again just to share with you guys in the future. Thanks!!
Great video!
Thank you!
I’ll take two.... me and my wife could deff. Use these in our Jeeps.... The mall Crawler for sure. Lol
Heck ya! It's really a great simple solution if you need more storage, even to go to the mall!
Great video, thanks!
Thank you!
I’m looking at ARB fridge not sure if want 37 or 50
I'm probably going to go small just because it's only me and maybe my wife or one of my sons. If it was a whole family I'd go larger.
Sounded very tinny when you were installing it. Did that go away once it was bolted up? Otherwise I think I'd wanna throw sound deadening on jt.
I think it was maybe a little over amplified because it was in my garage and I was using a sensitive mic. It's pretty solid now that it's mounted.... no rattling noted.
Hi Trailrecon. Thanks for the review of the GGB. Can you tell me if it gets in the way of your view out the back? Thanks.
Thanks! There is just a little horizontal obstruction when empty, but then when you load it up you loose all visibility.
what cooler is that? i am looking for one that size and don't want to have to spend a grand for an overnight trip or day trip worth of food? love the channel!!
It's a 12 volt Coleman Chiller: amzn.to/2HjApRk
TrailRecon thank you much and love your channel and the jeep you have!! keep up the good work!!
How to instation New tante to the car 4 × 4
You need a bigger fire extinguisher. Get a 5 lb ABC. That little thing you have won't do much.
What’s a power tank?
Ah shucks! No room for any groceries on that GGB shelf! Oh well, that's life! lol
why not drawer system?
btw i love your channel....
A draw system is on my to-do list, just need get the frig/slider first. Thank you!
So, why won't it work with a soft top?
Nice shelf.
Question, do you get any resonation in that big plate from your sub?
Cheers from Sweden 73
Good question, but I don't have a sub woofer.. sorry.
Price is up to $499 now(on sale from $519.99). That's crazy.
Did you add that 12v outlet back there?
Sure did, just a simple custom modification.
TrailRecon would love to see if you have any better photos or a video on that topic
I prefer to see out my rear window.
