This manga deserved a chance. Sometimes, it feels like Jump is too quick assuming something isn't good and doesn't let it properly show what it can do. I am happy knowing Kagurabachi is still here. Turns out it was better than what we thought.
@@gabrielsyme4550 The same could be said about Kagurabachi. But it proved everyone wrong. From what I hear, the only people who stuck up for the series were the Americans.
Most manga do but its just how the magazine works unfortunatley. AA got a bit less than a lot of modern axes but also 20 chapters is way better than 10 chapters a lot would get in the 80s and 90s. Im also really happy kagurabachi is doing well!
I remember when this first came out and I weas very much interested but catching up on other series, by the time I was about to start it it got cancelled. It sounded really promising so a bit of a shame, ,gave me that World Trigger vibe as well with the premise being mixed in a bit more with MiB. Also love the Twin Peaks references, one of my favorite televisions shows of all time.
I love cancelled manga a ton so I'm glad people are enjoying these!! If you listen to podcasts there's one called Shonen Flop which covers them too! Enjoy binging!
His new series has a 90s vibe to it that reminds me of something like Ushio and Tora or Flame of Recca that I actually like. I don't think its anything special and will hit the axe too but I'm enjoying it more than AA. Did you do a video on Ayashimon yet?
Hmm I think I get the 90s vibes too, I haven't done one on Ayashimon yet but it's one of my favourite axed manga Period do definitely expect it at some point
@@TrentinArt I don't want his new series to get axed btw but it just doesn't radiate that special sauce they want BADLY as a few series come to a close. Looking forward to the Ayashimon video. 👌👌
Biggest flaw is that the story lacked any type of focus despite having very interesting ideas You have MIB organization and Anti Alien organization which is basic BUT can work You don't care about the Characters at all especially the siblings The Art and Paneling can be cramped The alien device is forgotten really quickly which could've Been a Cool Power System on its own Check out Cosmos by Beezlebub creator does everything better
In my opinion the series failed due mainly to its fierce competition. By the time the series was really ready to show what it was capable of around 13-14 it had to compete with 15 series which are still ongoing in some way to this day. Throw in PPPPPP and the return of Hunter Hunter and the most series would not have stood a chance.
Can you make a video about level E? I think it's one of the only axe manga to have an anime adaptation and it's written by one of the best mangaka ever (in my opinion)
I don't think Level E was axed. Like you said it got an anime adaptation but it also got 8 straight color pages, including the final chapter. If they wanted to get rid of it they would've saved those color pages for other series. It also had a pretty sporadic release schedule, which jump wouldn't have kept around if it did poorly.
The story did feel very fast to me towards the end as if they were pressing it that it would be over in a moment and in general it's rare for gag manga to be short but maybe you're right I don't know @@harleytheapothecary7849
I been reading necromancer and really hope the Best for the series i remember reading aliens área and feeling like it was interesting but not quite My taste but this video and how amazing i think necromancer is until now i Will definitively be giving aliens área a read
@@TrentinArt i am alredy by chapter 6 and i Will agree that the pacing feels a lot smoother in binge reading, i dont really love that the best most dangerous in the universe card was pulled so fast but thats just the smallest nuisance in wich i feel is a quite unique and well structured work

I do think Aliens Area could have been something special, and I got kinda upset when people were describing the chapters without action as “slice of life hell”. That mindset kills a lot of battle shounen for me. Imagine how much better JJK would be if we took 3 chapters at the start to flesh out the dynamic between the “main trio” without being bogged down by power system exposition.
Why? They both deal with Aliens essentially, they have equipment focused Battle systems and have a focus on grounding their worlds political aspects? I don't see anything funny about that 🧐
I was super excited for his new series considering how fun and unique AA was and ngl I'm kind of disappointed. It's not bad but feels rather bland in comparison. Hopefully the more bland premise can hook jumps readers easier and he can just get more creative later but ATM I'm just not feeling it. Besides that I hope Shuiro no Kamen gets a translation and I hope it's just as interesting as AA.
hadnt seen the mangakas other works. the art before aliens area is good, kyokuto necromance looks good. idk what happened in aliens area but its ugly as sin.
Interesting... since after that the next few chapters are a big debate and the two MC's don't fight anyone after they only talk to the antagonist, only the assassins fights!
I can never properly say the name of this manga because I instinctively want to call it “Aliens Arena”
It hasn't personally happened to me but I've seen a bunch of people call it that too so you definitely aren't alone
Same here lul
I personally remember how the debut issue for Ruri Dragon had a typo and it was called ALINES AREA
This series was so promising, I'm so happy Naba sensei is publishing again in WSJ. Kyokuto Necromance seems really promising as well!
Same! I'm glad he's back now, hopefully it lasts!
Working on 2 series at once? I thought only Hiro Mashima knew that forbidden art.

Oh nice an actual aliens series for aXe files and the cow was my favourite character no lie
Great video! Im happy to see that AA did left an impression.
Thanks!! It definitely did and to others too since I was asked to cover it a lot!
Cant wait till you cover Phantom Seer
It's a big pity that we won't see the procedural chapter about the cow abduction.
Idk if you've done any of these but I'd love an axe files on Bone Collection that ran in WSJ or Our Blood Oath by Kazu Kakazu
I'd love to do one on Bone Collection! Our Blood oath would be really interesting too!
I didn’t know Naba had another series under a pen name. Cool.
Yeahhh i remember it from when Aliens area was announced, im surprised its still be going all this time
Do you already know which series is next for The Axe Files?
also enjoyed this video while eating; well done! 🤗
On the discord were going over Full Drive which dhoukd be next! And me and the Patrons are cooking up another secret one.

I've read cosmos but still prefer Aliens Area. I think it works, and is focused like I mention in the video. It needed more time for sure though
Just in time for lunch!
Ahhh I love when that happens, hope you enjoyed!
I was sad to see it go, I'll abmit i was effy on it in the beginning the longer it went on i really came to enjoy it
Yeah the beginning few chapters I think are the weakest parts but it finds its footing soon after!

Yup that's usually how it goes! It was super full at the time and without making bold moves it was inevitable it got cut

I hope you make video about fantastic manga not famous like worst , fantasy world jun , level e from jump this is well be cool

I actually liked this series
I really liked the beginning and the end of this Manga i loved the Men In Lab style to it the Art was getting better
But the middle is so forgettable its crazy
I find that interesting since the very middle has some of the best parts, Rice Paddy, Ufo parking ticket, ninja alien and then the bar arc!
This manga has a similar feel to DandaDan.
I kinda get the alien stuff a bit but it's very very different from dandadan imo. Both great manga I enjoy a ton tho!

Agree fr, Id love if more stories took time to let the characters chill more, develop and just be characters outside of big battle arcs
I quiet like it but compare it to world trigger is funny

Ahaha idk I really like it, theres a distinct scratchiness to it. Though Mukuteru Aoi and Karakiri Gomen I think are my favourite art-wise from him
I liked the start of the manga but after the chapter with the bar made it seem like it was sliding into a generic action manga so I lost interest
Interesting... since after that the next few chapters are a big debate and the two MC's don't fight anyone after they only talk to the antagonist, only the assassins fights!
I feel the series was just a bit too generic in a modern era that (usually) requires a lot of innovation
Interesting since I think it did try a lot of different things and isn't all that generic
They really managed to make Men in Black, MUNDANE and BORING. The arson case started way too late.
Idk AA was really interesting imo
Hated this manga
Can't like them all i suppose😌
